They are under new management from what I understand and the new manager is awesome. He was incredibly helpful as were all the staff. They answered all my questions even going as far as to google things for me. I started looking at an amp I was really digging so I started A/Bing amps and by the time I was done that had just about rearranged the show room and I was surrounded by amps and pedals. 1st class service and I loved it. The Strat is a 'Closet Classic'--it is designed by the Fender Custom Shop to have checking and age. To use factory relicing as an excuse to offer 10% of market value is either a lack of product knowledge or a deliberate attempt to mislead. The $4600 dollar guitar I was looking at looked like it had Lost a long-time customer today. I've been a loyal supporter of Lark Guitars for years, spending a substantial amount of money here and recommending them to others despite their premium pricing. I believe in supporting local shops, but after today, I will never step foot in this establishment again. I went in today prepared to purchase a $4,600 Custom Shop Telecaster. For trade-in, I brought a PRS SC 58 and a Fender Custom Shop Closet Classic Stratocaster. After waiting, I was met with an insulting offer of $300 per guitar ($600 total). Claiming these high-end instruments are "too beat up" to offer more than entry-level Squier prices is either a blatant attempt to scam a loyal customer or a total lack of product knowledge. For a shop that deals in boutique gear, they should know exactly what those models are worth. I packed my gear and walked out. If you value your instruments or your time, I suggest you look elsewhere. They've lost my business for good.

And have no idea why a third relative is necessary. Also if this was better explained at the point of sale it would have eased a lot of my frustration. ORIGINAL REVIEW This place is awful. We were sent there by my child's elementary school. It was the only choice we were given which makes it so much worse. They have very poor business practices. They require a social security number which they keep written down which is very poor security practice. Also they require spouses name address phone and an additional relative's name, address and phone. I understand checking my drivers license and keeping information including credit card on file but all of this is unreasonable. Further it definitely should not be kept on a single piece of paper. Further we are renting because my daughter has never played violin and she may hate it. But they require a 32 month contract! This is for fifth grade, yet the contract goes through the end of seventh grade. That is also not reasonable. The staff were also rude. When I complained and questioned these things I was told I could purchase the instrument out right if I didn't like it. Again this was the only option given to us by the school. The owner appeared on the parents meeting zoom call. If he is going to work directly with the school he should have better business practices.

Crisann helped me to get a rental so that I could try it out and they offer the first lesson for free which is amazing! Samantha was able to get my violin repaired and ready to play again! I initially had my instrument sent to another shop for evaluation, but after speaking with Jason…read moreand being told he was interested in taking on the work, I had it shipped back so he could handle the repair. That meant paying additional return shipping out of pocket just to get it to him. Before drop-off, Jason reviewed photos and quoted the job at around $995 with an estimated turnaround time of about 3 weeks. After that, the experience went downhill. From December through April, I had to repeatedly follow up just to get updates. Communication was almost entirely initiated by me. Early on, I was told things were "looking promising" and that he'd be getting to it soon. Weeks turned into months with little to no progress. At one point, he said he should have more time over Spring Break and expected to finish it within a couple of weeks. That did not happen. After months of waiting, I was finally told there had essentially been no progress and that he would not be able to complete the job due to other commitments. So to summarize: * The job was accepted with a ~3 week estimate * The instrument sat there for several months * Communication was inconsistent and mostly one-sided * The work was never completed * I incurred additional shipping costs based on his willingness to take the job That's not how a business should operate. If you take on a job, you should either complete it in a reasonable timeframe or communicate early and clearly if you can't. Letting something sit for months and then backing out is not acceptable. This cost me time and money that I didn't need to lose. I could have left it with the original shop and had the work completed, but instead I trusted this process and ended up back at square one. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this shop to anyone who values reliability, communication, or follow-through.
