First time visit after a few failed attempts at getting a reservation over the years. This place is located in Reedsville which is a very small village that has some charm. A side stop between State College and Harrisburg. We went with friends and brought a few bottles of wine (byow-no cork fee). We were the last seating of the night at 7:45 PM. This is a fixed price, fixed menu, 5-course meal, with a surprise 6th appetizer, all with a "Fall" theme as we visited in September. This is a farm-to-table restaurant with many items coming from their garden. I wouldn't say the menu options were my favorite but the presentation was excellent. Everything was delicious, service was great and it was a beautiful evening with friends. We were there past 10 PM as the restaurant came to a close. First time we managed to get a reservation and Revival Kitchen was a grand slam! Each dish was complex, artfully plated, and delicious. There were so many wonderful flavors: rose sugar in the opening snack, smoked mussels and saffron foam in the soup, homemade ricotta in the carrot pasta, spruce sorbet palette cleanser,, an incredible steak, rhubarb ice cream. Wow! Super unique. Service was friendly and professional. The dining room is small and the ceiling is a bit low, so the noise level is pretty high when the room is full. We were across from a table of 6 and one gentleman did not know how to use an inside voice, so we had to lean in to talk over this loud talker. But that's not the restaurant's fault. I think the price is really a bargain for what you will experience. Bring a nice bottle of wine and enjoy! We're already looking for reservations later this summer! Fantastic! read more

I visited Revival kitchen on a Friday night at 8. I happened to snag a reservation by chance while I was in town and I'm was so very excited for this family meal. My husband and son joined me for a lovely night out with great service and complex flavors. We brought 2 bottles of wine and the staff promptly opened them when we arrived. There is no corkage fee, which I appreciate. The meal was so well balanced and I walked away feeling so full. My favorite item was the roasted harissa veggies as I could have eaten a whole plate of that alone as my meal. The veggies were charred, not burnt and the bean tahini aka hummus was delicious. I also really enjoyed the welcome bite of a crispy pork belly and some kind of chip. My apologies for not remembering what it was, but it was a nice starter. The beef- cooked to perfection. As first timers, we were so pleased that Revival Kitchen lived up to the hype and exceeded our expectations! As a vegetarian, I appreciated the easily modified menu and their seasonal veggie-forward focus. The ingredients and flavor combinations were delicious and unique, creating quite the foodie experience which we have found difficult to find in central PA. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere was perfect. We were also surprised to actually have space and privacy between tables at such a small upscale restaurant. We can't wait to get back there! We came to Revival with some friends on a football weekend. You couldn't ask for a better dining experience, especially considering the location of the restaurant in a small town in the country. Really outstanding preparation of locally sourced ingredients. The food here is as good as you will find in any big city restaurant. The prices might seem high, but I've paid way more for the same quality food in major metropolitan areas. Also keep in mind they're not making money off alcohol sales. It's BYO, so make sure you bring some of your favorite wines!! They're only open a few days a week May-October. It's really hard to get a reservation, but it's more than worth the effort trying to book a reservation. We' booked a reservation for this Fall, and I'm already starting to think about how good this will be. read more

I was just recently on a date at Revival Kitchen and everything was beyond amazing. We drove from State College to visit this place because it seemed pretty promising. I have to say, it exceeded our expectations! The staff and owner(s) were so friendly and warm. You couldn't ask for better people to serve you. Better yet, we loved the food! The vegetarian French onion soup was the best I've ever had! My Honey Nut Risotto was to die for! Special shoutout to the dynamite chef! All the food is local, and they actively promote and support local farming. It really is the best new place around. You can't find anything like it anywhere else. They open @ 4:30 I called @ 4:15, they kindly asked if they could have the table back by 6:00, we gladly obliged as we gave them no notice whatsoever. Ok, so, we were promptly greeted by very friendly staff and seated right away. We opened with their summer corn soup and grilled sourdough bread. Try this soup folks, not kidding, you need to try this soup. I think off-the-chain is the appropriate phrase these days. And the sourdough bread...no slouch either. They grill this homemade starter, served with their own concoction of honey butter and you have a great opener. Then, the entrees. Tri-Tip (medium), duck breast (chef suggested medium), Merlot (you have to leave your table and choose and pay for this drink from an outsourced group in the back of this small establishment (Seven Mountains, which wasn't a big deal at all really). Food was superb, service was excellent, support staff again, excellent. Can't knock a thing. The food was very very good folks. Presentation, flavor everything. This place, in the middle of small town USA, is easy to get to and worth the 40 mile trip it took us to get here. Highly recommended. 4 stars, why? 1st time visit. We have dined at Revival Kitchen multiple times. We have taken family and friends who are omnivorous and they enjoyed everything they were served. They told us the gnocchi was done perfectly. The locally raised and butchered beef thrilled and satisfied one of the (self described) pickiest eaters I have ever known. We have all raved about the Coffee Roasted Beets that rightfully won the Sixth Annual Golden Basket Award this year. Chef Q knows how to celebrate food for what it is with complimentary flavors, textures and impeccable plating. When your dish is set before you, it is a feast for the eyes that prepares you for the ultimate dining experience. Imagine colorful pressed melon bars that have been infused with wine and, in pure Central PA style, topped with a little sea salt. Caramelized grill marks on veggies that are charming with their root ends still recognizable make you stop to appreciate the local foods you are about to eat. Autumnal squash never gets boring at Revival Kitchen, perfect cubes of golden butteriness or wafer thin circles of delicata squash play with your eyes before treating your palate. Forget the tired old plank of zucchini, here you will be served with small lozenges of the squash that are immediately recognizable by allowing a section of their vibrant emerald skin on. Recently, we were overjoyed to be reintroduced to a vegetable we hadn't had since we were kids; Salsify (oyster plant) was feature along with carrots and sweet potatoes! What a memory it brought back with the slightly slippery mouth-feel and it's nuttiness complimented with a bit of truffle oil - delightful! Creatively crafted, local, seasonal food make this restaurant great but what makes it stellar is the staff. Every member of the waitstaff is knowledgeable about the menu. If they ever have a doubt if something is vegan or not, they have no qualms about checking with the kitchen and don't make you feel like it was an imposition to ask. When your meal is served, they describe what you are about to enjoy in a way you are grateful for. It is like being given a map to an amazing land and you are encouraged to enjoy the journey at your own pace. Wine pairings are not in print with menu selections but the wait staff can give suggestions if asked. Better yet, talk to the staff at the Seven Mountain Wine Cellars wine bar and get a few tastings. They are experts in all of the wines as well as knowledgeable of the current food menu and will be eager to make suggestions for pairings. There are also non-alcoholic beverage choices or bring your own beer/cocktails (no outside wine). The interior of the Revival Kitchen is welcoming and its location on Main Street in Reedsville is crucial. It is the lovely young plant that is lucky enough to get a toehold in the sunlight that opened up when the Black Horse Tavern burned down in 2011. How Main Street Reedsville is changing is like polishing off a tarnished kettle you had forgotten about. It is just as charming as it was on the shelf but remembering it useful for making a hot cup of tea is a mindful reconnecting of what is right in front of you. read more

Artistry on a plate! Yes, Revival Kitchen is 5 star restaurant in Reedsville, PA! We recently attended one of RK's monthly "Sunday Suppers", which have a theme for the meal that includes dishes not on their regular menu. This month's theme was an Asian dinner. Décor: The atmosphere is quaint and inviting, simply decorated with natural/wooded highlights and eclectic furniture/seats. Be sure to check out the floor in the rest room, which is adorned with pennies representing the keystone state. Service: The service was very attentive and accommodating. The wait staff responded in a positive way to all requests. The co-owner stopped by our table at least twice during our meal to check on things. Food: Fresh and amazing from start to finish! RK focuses on using locally sourced products from the surrounding farms. On the one chalkboard displayed was a list of all the local farms they utilize. The meal started with Thai crab ceviche spoons followed by a mixed salad made with fresh greens, bok choy, and other Asian veggies. The main course included three entrées: Hoisin braised boneless beef short ribs, Korean fried chicken, and a vegetarian/asparagus stir-fry. These were accompanied with home made Kimchi and white rice. Every item was mouth watering and paired nicely with each other. The beef rib was amazing and fork tender. Dessert was coconut tapioca with candied ginger and tapioca crisp. This was not your grandmother's tapioca and had me wishing for a second serving if I wasn't full already. Each dish was artfully plated prior to being served. There is definitely a "chef" in the kitchen and not just a cook! Overall we highly recommend RK. I thought the price matched the quality and quantity of the dishes being served. While Reedsville is a short drive from State College and Harrisburg, I believe the high quality of food being served is worth the commute. read more

Service was also outstanding. But we left with a bad taste in our mouths, because of a ticky-tac charge on our bill. We were charged four dollars for a vegetable substitution. That's fine to do, but the server made no mention of the charge when the order was placed. We thought that was a little shady. Also, this place is not ADA compliant. Had a amazing dinner here! The menu is full of fresh local ingredients. You can also purchase wine by the bottle or glass from a local vineyard at great price. The setting is awesome only to be out done by the food! The local cheese plate was very well done even outfitted with some very yummy local honey, in addition the Bone and Bread appetizer was one of the best bone marrow dishes I have ever had. I feel so lucky to have discovered this place. The experience was great from the moment I made the reservation. "Sorry nothing is available until 8:15 or so, but we'll call you back if anything opens up." Nice. We ordered the deep fried deviled egg out of sheer curiosity and were delighted. A deviled egg with a crisp exterior beside lightly vinegared kale with bits of pork. So good. The oddities and delights go further. Bread and Bone, bone marrow anchored in mashed potatoes with just the right amount of toasted sour dough bread to accompany it. Hints of preserved lemon and bacon-onion jam highlighted the richness of the marrow. A really special dish. The corned pork shank was a hearty and lovely item. And the sirloin steak was tender and cooked just right. The idea of the wine bar inside the restaurant (Seven Mountains Winery, a separate business with a separate tab) worked out beautifully. We got to taste several wines and then select the bottle that we most enjoyed. And the service was terrific. Nicole was fun, answered lots of questions and obviously took a lot of pride in this fresh new place that may make Reedsville more than just another random exit off Highway 322. read more

This is a fantastic place. The locally sourced menu is always changing but never disappoints! I have never had a bad meal here. The wait staff is well versed on the menu so never hesitate to ask about something that may be unfamiliar. And don't forget to visit the Seven Mountains Wine Bar at the back of the restaurant. Excellent, award winning local wines are available to compliment any meal.
