He was digging his tool in so hard nonstop (even after me saying it was hurting me) that he chipped my tooth! He barely explained what was going on and tried to walk me to another room for a filling right then. I was so confused and he said he didn't even have time to numb me. I had a horrible feeling so I said I didn't want him to work on it right then, and he just left the room without even saying goodbye or asking if I was ok. I went to the dentist for a cleaning and found out I had to get a root canal. The entire experience of the root canal was a disaster. In the middle of the first root canal appointment, the dentist (Dr. Gera) and dental assistant were arguing about what the next step in the procedure was. This was very worrisome considering I was in the chair completely helpless listening to them argue. Also, during the appointment, the dentist seemed so frazzled that he dropped my temporary crown, and it rolled into the hallway. This appointment caused me SO much pain. I had tears running down my face the entire appointment, but the dentist would not prescribe anything to help with pain or swelling. During the three week period until I could get my permanent crown, the temporary crown fell off even though I was abstaining from overly crunchy or chewy foods. I went to get the temp crown replaced, and the dental assistant haphazardly put it back on. It fell off within 5 minutes, and the dentist came in and correctly put the crown on. I went back and got the permanent crown put on which was another painful experience. Also, the crown was molded incorrectly so the dentist had to file it down resulting in some metal showing. It looked awful. It has been a little over a month, and I still cannot fully chew on that side of my mouth. I experience frequent pain where the crown is. I tried to send the practice an email with my concerns, and the email they have on their website is inactive! I could not believe it. This dental practice does not care about patient well-being or providing sufficient care. I plan to find a new dentist to help solve the consequences of the poor services that this practice provided. I refuse to return to this practice again and have already begun warning others of my experience.

My advice is stay away from this place and spare yourself and your family the aggravation! One star too many because they don't deserve any.

However, I decided to go ahead with my posting because the problem is not just that. 1) first impression: she arguably has a lot of experience in her field, but when she is unable to hear her patient and needs a second or third person to double or triple explain what the patient is saying, there is a problem. 2) she is not just unable to hear well, she does not listen to the patient. This is even a bigger issue. When the patient tries to explain what is bothering her, the history and chronology of the symptoms, what measures have been taken thus far, etc. she needs to pay attention and then diagnose based on her experience. She does not. She hears and listens to what she wants to and repeats the same thing that the patient precisely said was not the issue. FRUSTRATING! We are paying good money for insurance premiums, co-pays, time and effort to see a professional. We need better than this!
