It added to the charm as if it were curated there just be gawked at or appraised. Then, a beautiful appeared greeted me with a warm smile. I had already scanned the menu and found absolutely everything enticing. I asked for her recommendation. "Chile Verde", she whispered softly. I nodded wetting my lips imagining this delicious Aztec recipe dissoluble against my tongue savoring every spice. We came to a small house looking restaurant; however, the inside is a lot bigger than I thought. The atmosphere is very authentic and has friendly service. We ordered the Chili Verde plate and Camarones Racheros with flour tortillas. These are the best tortilla I have ever had. Homemade and so warm. If you like tortillas, order an extra because you only get one; however, it's a big tortilla. The food was excellent. Perfectly cooked and the flavors are addicting. I found myself almost wanting to lick the plate clean. The pork didn't have much fat on it and the veggies we cooked perfectly. The tacos are good. I think the chicken taco stood out the most because it's shredded and possibly cooked in salsa. There are corn and chopped green beans in the mixture but it wasn't bad. You can barely taste the veggies The only critique I have is I wish the salad had dressing. But everything else was amazing. Got a huge takeout order from here since my go-to spot was closed already. They serve basic Mexican food at good prices and make their own tortillas! (yum!!!) I ordered the Camarones A La Diabla. It was spicy and very saucy. Came with tortillas, beans and rice. Good dish, though not outstanding. The tortillas were the bomb tho!! My friends found their tacos, sope and quesadillas to be the most delicious of what was ordered. Chile relleno was the most disappointing. Horrible food, service isn't much better. Went this afternoon with my dad who was in from out of town, my husband and our 7 year old. I got the enchiladas combo, took 2 bites and that was it because they were so bad. Chicken and tortilla was both dry as hell and the cheese on top was hard and gross. My daughter got a tamale that looked like they nuked it in the microwave and my dad got the juevos con papas which he said tasted like old oil that had fried fish previously and the "papas" were broken up pieces of French fries. We literally left all the food on the table and when the waitress came over with the check and offered boxes we refused. She asked if we didn't like the food and when we told her the issues she wanted us to write them down on her note pad. My dad said "no, we'll post it online" so that we did. I cannot remember a recent time when I went to a restaurant where the food was as bad as the food at Real Colima 2. The huevos y papas that I ordered had the feel, temperature and taste of food that has been sitting on a metal tray under the heat lamp way too long. Worse, the potatoes had been coated or fried in oil that was rancid and had a slight taste of fish. I only ate a very small portion and it was disgusting. The flour tortilla had come out of a bag that had been sitting for too long and it tasted and felt old. My daughter and my granddaughter who were with me barely touched their food (enchiladas for my daughter and tamales for my granddaughter). I will let my daughter review her own food. Then you had to be able to speak and read Spanish to order. Everything is made there and tastes amazing I've introduced my kids who are bug time foodies and they now enjoy insist on traveling for their awesome food You can't go wrong. Even if you just stop In for a plate of retried beans with cheese and their fresh / homemade tortillas with a cold beer I order the campenchana (sp?) and am wowed by the amount of fish that is stuffed into the bowl. We've been coming to this location for about 20 years. I used to love their chile relleno burritos & sopes. My husband went in to order burritos this evening and the place was empty. It took FOREVER to get them. They gave him a couple green salsas and when my husband asked for red they said no they don't have any. He pointed to a huge tub of red salsa and they said no. He asked if they could please put some in a container and again they refused. When we got home the burritos were stuck to the aluminum. The beans were runny and they forget to put rice in my burrito. Wow! I had such high expectations after reading the reviews!!! The place was packed so I thought it would be amazing. The service was very slow. We ordered quickly and got our drinks, chips and salsa quickly. There are two salsas the red is decent but the green seems like it's meant to be a sauce. Both are watery and neither are very hot. We got there a few minutes after 11 on Sunday and didn't get our food until after 11:45. my beau ordered chili colorado. The meat was hard and dried out and the sauce didn't taste quite right. The rice and beans were ok. I ordered chili relleno it was decent - a healthy version with veggies in the sauce and hardly any cheese. The tortillas we were served were not handmade (check out the taco truck on the corner of San Martin Ave and Hwy 101 for the best hand made tortillas!!). Two stars? The chili colorado was inedible and the food was very slow. I feel bad writing this. They seem like really nice people running the place. We could have asked for something else but with the long wait we just wanted to get on with our day... read more

This is a super convenient spot for us and when we don't feel like cooking, we order out from Real Colima 2. It is decently priced and the service is always good. I ordered a menudo plate. the food took approximately 15 minutes to arrive. despite the home-made tortillas, which were delicious, the menudo was insipid and the serving size was dismal.
