I actually signed a contract with another company, but when I saw one of the Real Genius emcees at a bar mitzvah I knew immediately that I needed to forfeit my down payment and work with Randy. We had emcee Ninja, Coby, and two amazing dancers at our bar mitzvah and they were incredible. All the kids and adults were on the dance floor! Everyone stayed and danced until the very end (unheard of!) and people have been calling me to tell me it was the best party ever! Our son's friends have been telling him the same and I know that he is thrilled. Another invaluable aspect of working with Real Genius is that Randy is such a great resource. He knew our venue and worked with our coordinator on the table and teen lounge setup, where to put his setup, and how to light up the place so that it looked like a club. He even knew to put an LCD wall behind dj Coby to offset the dark windows. They put our son's name in lights on a wall and it really added a sparkling personalized touch. If you are still reading this way too long review (sorry!) you can see that I very rarely post reviews on Yelp. I just had to for these guys. Everyone goes through nerve racking feeling when things are not ready and only a few days are left. However, with Randy it felt like there was finally force that could put everything together. I am conflicted about this review. MC Cliff, DJ Ryan, and their dance team were 5 stars. I have no complaints about the service they provided at the party. I would definitely book them again. The music was great and the crowd partied and danced non stop. In fact we got so many compliments. We went with Real Genius because Randy marketed himself as a one stop shop to take care of everything. He said he would take care of the planning so our event ran smoothly. Mind you we paid over 6 k for his services. Unfortunately less than 2 weeks before the party he then suggested we hire someone he knows as a day of person. This person was charging an additional 2500 just to be there on the day of in case there were any needs. Pretty shocking considering everything was supposedly already arranged and paid for. I did hire a day of person for a small fraction of the price and she was able to help the caterer make sure things went smoothly, but to be honest she wasn't really necessary just some extra hands. My biggest concern was that we paid for a name feature and lighting features and it wasn't there and no one told us in advance so we could make other arrangements. Although Randy later offered us a refund for the name that doesn't change the fact that we didn't have what we paid for. My son would have loved having his name projected at the party and the lights in his pictures and videos. I think that Real Genius offers a good service and maybe this was a one off, but it's important that you manage the process and confirm you are going to get everything you paid for. Our mistake is that we assumed Randy would reach out to us if anything further was needed for the event or if anything was time sensitive. Get a to-do list as soon as you hire someone. Had we not reached out 2 weeks before our event who knows. read more

Randy and his team-- DJs, emcee, dancers, photo booth operator, and airbrush artist did a wonderful job at my daughter's Bat Mitzvah. Randy worked closely with us to strike a balance between the sort of event we (the parents) wanted and what my daughter liked. Bat Mitzvahs combine two groups of people with very different tastes, but Randy managed this well. For example, interest in dancing tends to lag after a bit. Randy helped us to choose affordable give aways that our DJ could use at key moments to get the crowd back on the dance floor. It didn't hurt that Randy knew our venue backward and forward. He's got a lot of these events under his belt. One of the highlights of the night was the gameshow in which the Bat Mitzvah guests played a game which was "Name That Tune" meets "Family Feud." The adults had fun guessing old TV show themes like "Sandford and Son", and the kids got pop stuff they knew and I still can't tell you what it was--something for everyone. We had a glow party and got a bunch of light effects--lasers, uplighting, an LED wall, dance cubes, and a GOBO personalized with my kid's artwork. These things weren't cheap, but my girl got a big thrill from having her artwork displayed for all in lights. It was a spectacular party and everything my daughter wanted. read more

Randy and his fantastic staff have been hired to work at so many events I've been to. I've been to at least five Bar/Bat Mitzvahs (one being my own of course) and I've never seen anyone better. Randy and his team have this insane way of keeping people on the dance floor THE ENTIRE TIME. You are pulled to the dance floor like you're in a trance and you don't leave. (It's not like you want to anyways haha). I've seen countless parties that suck because no one is hyped or dancing but Real Genius always brings the energy up and gets people partying.
