Real Hot Yoga is part of my fitness/self-care routine. I regularly take the Yin and Slow Flow classes, in addition to doing weight training and cardio offsite. Over the years I have not devoted a ton of time/effort to stretching, so these 2 classes are vital for me feel my best. I was traveling to this area and thought it would be nice to attend a class as a yoga enthusiast. Little did I know the yoga class experience turned out to be an unpleasant experience. The females (2) at the front desk took nearly a lifetime what it seemed to just get me registered for the class. After being late for the class, I attended the class and did not like the way the teacher during class had touched me with her sweat dripping on top of me. I found it disturbing and inappropriate. It was by far the worst hot yoga experience I have ever encountered. I would not suggest attending this business for any yoga experience or service. LOVE Real Hot Yoga! There is something for everyone - even if you've never taken a yoga class before!! It's such a positive and motivating atmosphere, you never feel intimidated or out of place. There are different classes with different heat levels so you don't just jump into the intense heat and can really work your way up! And don't let the heat scare you off! This is a great studio for anyone interested in starting/continuing their yoga practice. They offer a good range of yoga styles and all the instructors are top notch (plus very approachable). Power Yoga, Yoga Bootcamp, and Real Hot 21/25 are my favorites. Their class schedules and instructors are consistent, which is great. It gets pretty annoying with other studios when the classes you like aren't consistenly offered at a time that works for you. The only thing that I guess I didn't like about this place is their heat/humidity system. I've had several sessions when they've been experiencing issues with maintaining heat in the classes. In some classes heating was working, but felt like wasn't hot enough. It's not a big deal - on one occasion when heating wasn't working at all they offered the class for free (not sure how that worked for folks that are on the monthly unlimited pack). I also think there needs to be some flyers/handouts/education/better enforcement of their floor dotting system. It's annoying when you're joining a full class and can't find a spot because people aren't paying attention or unaware of the purpose of the dots (and also make sure they replace faded floor dots - a lot of them are just so old it's hard to tell which ones are orange or red). I've relocated recently and will miss this studio very much. RHY got me hooked on yoga and has since been my benchmark of comparison to other studios as far as the quality of the yoga sessions and instructors. Love this place. There are so many options: variety of classes, locations & hours. The instructors that I've had so far have been passionate & dedicated, specially Mona; she loves teaching and does excellent demonstrations for us to follow during class, while also making sure we are each doing the right thing. The classes in general are very relaxed, but don't be fooled, yoga is challenging!!! It's a great way to zone out for a bit and just focus on how your body feels and performing. Definitely recommend for people with stressful jobs, students or anyone that wants to be active but doesn't want someone making you exercise until you faint! read more

We love doing 26 and 2 yoga and finding studios when we travel can be a challenge. We stumbled upon Real Hot Yoga here and in Johnson City. The studio is fresh, clean and most of all, HOT very true to temperature. The teachers are knowledgeable, great motivators and very helpful in making adjustments. What I look for is a vacation / travel membership. What I really like is this membership, which lasts a week is good at any of the RHY locations. This was helpful and convenient. I had never taken a yoga class before, and I'll admit, I was a little intimidated when I walked in. I tried an open house weekend and was able to try a class for free, which was perfect for me. The facilities are very clean and nice. The girl who checked me in was very friendly, and after I filled out my form, I was given a tour of the facility to show me where everything was, which I really appreciated. There was another class that let out right before ours, and I noticed that they go in and clean the floor after each class, which I thought was great. The main room is very large with plenty of room for everyone. I believe our class had 40+ people in it, and we had plenty of room. The class itself was so great. The instructors really encourage you to go at your own pace and do what you are able to if you can't do some of the more advanced moves (which I couldn't). I never felt judged or out of place for being brand new to yoga. Also I LOVED the music in the class. It was songs I knew and liked instead of "spa type" music, which is what I expected. Did I mention I loved the music? During class the instructor came over to show me a couple ways I could do some of the poses differently so I would be able to do it. She was so nice about it and was very subtle so I didn't feel embarrassed. I really appreciated that. It does get hot in the room but I actually really enjoyed it, and I felt it helped me concentrate. You are encouraged to take breaks too if you begin to feel too hot. I signed up to take more classes and have already taken another one. I have loved the instructors and everyone there has been so nice. I really enjoy these classes and am looking forward to trying a lot more! read more

Friendly for complete beginners. Clean and comfortable. I had my first yoga class last Saturday at Real Hot Yoga. I am a complete beginner... I had never done yoga of any sort. I've been curious for years, so I decided to take the plunge and just do it. I am very glad I did! I was pretty scared before going in there. I'm a dude, and not very flexible. I just wore basketball shorts and a teeshirt. I signed up for the 40$ beginner's workshop, and a month of free yoga classes. They let me borrow a towel and a mat the first time. Micole showed me around, nice clean place, separate showers and changing rooms for men and women. She was good at teaching the basic poses, but it was hard to keep up... so much to learn, and the poses flow within a couple of breaths, so it's hard to retain everything. The room was maybe 80 degrees as a hot class had let out just before I attended... the workshops are, so they say, generally room temperature, but they do them at like 85, 95, and 105 degrees. Only one thing could have gone better: the class only lasted an hour instead of an hour and a half, due to some sort of confusion on the teacher's part. I think an extra few minutes spent on the poses before joining them together in a flow would have been helpful. New client special: $40 for 30days. Not bad! Given that a single drop in class is $20. Plus, with this new introductory sign up, you get one workshop class that is offered on sunday that goes through proper pose etiquette. This facility is nice and clean. One room, male/female bathroom, male and female change room. The classes offered are varied and suitable for all ages/levels needs. Towels and mats are for rental if you don't already own. A few merchandise is sold as well as water bottles. I would love to see this place grow bigger into offering more class times with multiple rooms. With this growth, potentially see larger floor to ceiling mirrors in the studios so you can see your own poses. And if it isn't too much trouble, infrared heating systems would be nice. Yes, these are all just cosmetics and probably has nothing to do with the practice itself BUT I feel that it would be more comfortable for the longrun. The best of what Knoxville has to offer. I've loved going to Real Hot for a couple years now. The teachers are great and owners are awesome. This studio truly heats the room to make you sweat unlike some other studios I've been too claiming they are hot. My favorite teacher is Tracy but all the teachers are great! They accommodate and make classes accessible to all levels. I appreciate the many different class times and will continue to enjoy doing yoga at this studio! read more

Love my experience here the instructors are very good and helpful since I am still new to yoga. I started at the West Hills location 7 months ago. Everyone is very nice and friendly. My only complaint is the area to drop off your belongings in the cubbies there is no room. It gets very crowded after class is over. Love the my practice here and I will continue going. Real Hot Yoga is amazing. This studio has a good selection of classes to choose from and lots of great time slots. All classes are taught in either a "warm" or "hot" room which gives great detox benefits, helps you to stretch deeper, and provides an amazing workout! The instructors are all very knowledgeable, very willing to help, and super nice. I've done yoga in many cities across the US and Phillip Clift is truly the best yoga instructor around- if you haven't taken one of his classes you are missing out! This is a lively studio, and hot yoga is a wonderful thing. I'll begin with what I loved about the studio: 1) there were many participants excited and ready for a hot yoga class, and everyone seemed to be very engaged throughout the class; 2) the instructor was attentive and offered assists and adjustments as needed; 3) the placement of stickers on the floor helps to avoid crowding of yoga mats; 4) the heat level and humidity felt good (not too hot, not too cold); 5) the staff was welcoming and friendly when I walked in the door. I think there are some elements that need improvement: 1) because of the dimensions of the studio, it becomes VERY LOUD before class when everyone is talking at once, and this is not conducive to a mindful yoga practice. I was starting to develop a headache before class began! I'm not advocating a "no-talking" policy, but it might be useful to advise participants to speak quietly or to play calm music to promote the kind of environment suitable for a yoga practice; 2) I appreciate instructors who freely give extra time for classes, but I think in any class it is always best to start on time and end on time--I felt rude leaving the class "early," even though it was past the time the class was listed to end; 3) this is a personal preference but I did not enjoy practicing to hard rock during my session--this relates to point 1 and creating a mindful environment for vinyasa; 4) for sessions with minimal instruction, the instructor still needs to speak clearly and slowly to the participants--often the instructor's voice was covered up by the music, and I wasn't able to hear the direction at all. All in all, I am thrilled to see a hot studio blossom and attract participants, and I can tell that this is a special place. I would definitely visit again but wanted to list a few potential areas for improvement. Thank you for the experience! read more

This is my new favorite yoga studio in Knoxville. The air handling system is perfect and keeps the air warm and very slightly moist--and it always smells very fresh. The warmth really helps me get the deeper into the poses and my feet don't cramp up like in a regular yoga class. I have never felt so hot that I am uncomfortable--but it's good to dress lightly and drink A LOT during the hours before the session. There is plenty of room, even in a packed class. The instructors I have tried, so far, have been very professional. I really like the low cost introductory month of unlimited classes--it's a smart way to bring in new clients. read more
