This is a new Yelp page for this company because their other pages have such bad reviews and…read morerightfully so. We were booked with them through a third party and when they came to pick up our shipment they tried to charge us hundreds more after we paid and went through a thorough list of our inventory. The driver come up with some lame excuse that some of the items would not fit in the 'space' we paid for in the truck (empty truck). When we refused to do that, the driver said we had to pay for a mattress cover. That was never discussed or mentioned during our quality assurance call and inventory review. Just another failed attempt to get extra money out of us. The main problem I have is that they (the third party dispatch & the trucking company) puts customers in a choke hold because you have to move, then they upcharge you every step of the process - at least they try to. This is criminal! I told the driver that people budget both time & money for moving and them threatening not to take our stuff and trying to charge us hundreds more was shady business. I do not and would never recommend this company because their business practices are questionable at best. Any business that constantly has to recreate Yelp pages due to terrible reviews...well, that is saying all you need to know about them as a company.

Turns out he works out of Tampa remotely and the movers have never met him. I asked him if the movers would show up in the Eagle truck. He said "yes". It was an Enterprise truck. After booking with him I saw the many poor reviews and called him back and challenged him. He said he would have his best crew on my move. 2 guys showed up and they simply had little moving experience and the were just unprofessional. I am glad it was a simple move but I would never trust that team with a move with heavy furniture, etc. I was disappointed mostly because I was lied to after trying to make sure I had the right company hired.

I searched on Yelp for someone local and Family Moving has 5 stars so I gave them a call. I thought they'd have to come out and give me a quote but Susie helped me out on the phone. She asked me to explain the size of the condo and how much furniture and then told me she would send over 3 guys. They charge by the hour and there is a 3 hour minimum. She happened to have a day the following week available so I booked them. Three young men showed up right on time and got right to work. I honestly thought they would be moving slowly to try to get the price up but they were quick and efficient. They wrapped a couple of glass shelves I was starting to wrap on my own - I didn't realize that was included! Once they got to my home on the other side with my hubby they were just as quick and efficient. He even asked them to help out moving a piece of furniture that we had in a room that we needed moved to another room and it was no problem at all. They wound up getting it all done in 3 hours and 15 minutes. We tipped them handsomely as we really appreciate great work ethic and attitude. I would highly recommend this company for any move you have in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area.

The only issue we had was the move got pushed back a day, but that was mostly due to another client being somewhat less that truthful about the amount of stuff they had, so the "small job" they were trying to do on the same day became a 12-hour ordeal for them. I get it, and it actually worked out fine. I have to say that William was more than accommodating, and the price was incredible! Completely blew everyone else out of the water! Bobby and Jeffrey, even though I knew they were exhausted, took the time to really put things where I wanted them, and helped me get a little bit sorted so I can live in the new place. I can't stress enough how much that helped me! I have a couple of physical issues, and I was pretty much done half-way through, but they just took care of it all, and now I can at least get ready for work in the morning.
