Not only are her classes challenging but the rewards out weigh any fears or struggles that could cause you to stop coming to class or to give up because you feel inadequate. Honestly the only thing that ever stopped me from joining any gym/workout was myself. I carry a lot of self-pity and self-doubt and made every excuse in the book. I was asked to join and decided to make the leap. Going in extra nervous because I didn't know what to expect. I walk in and the ladies were all very welcoming. I saw all different body types and I knew I'd feel right at home. The workouts are great, mixture of high intensity, body sculpting workouts and some yoga to stretch that body out after a fast paced workout. Adaptable for whatever your body can handle. Just enough to test your limits and not cause hurt or injury because your health and body come first here. I'll admit the first week was stressful for me. Starting to eat clean, I was moody lol and I was like "I thought yoga was suppose to be calming?" Lol because I was more concerned about "am I doing this right? Am I suppose to be feeling this way? Michelle at Be You Yoga specializes in one-on-one yoga practice (as well as Ayurveda Health consulting). It is hard to overstate how different the experience is having a one on one guide. Michelle first gets to know who you are and what your goals are. Then, she builds a pathway of instruction that is specifically geared to who you are currently and what your goals are. During the sessions, you have the total focus from Michelle on your practice and as you are doing your poses, you get micro level guidance and the use of yoga props (blocks, bolsters, wall ropes, blankets, weights) to make sure you are able to engage with the poses regardless of your current physical state or prior experience. I don't believe there is anything else in our area that is remotely like what is offered at Be You Yoga. There is amazing value in Michelle's classes. She gives very specific, easy to follow, guidance based on where you and your body are at to achieve clear progress. Michelle gets to know you and works with you to develop achievable goals. The physical, mental, spiritual benefits of a yoga practice are literally life changing. Besides Michelle's yoga expertise, she is also highly trained in the practices of Ayurveda nutrition/health practices and can consult with you on this as well. I had such a fixation around, my workouts, and that they needed to be HIIT type classes, and I needed to feel the soreness, for it to have been a good workout. Boy, was I wrong. I have stepped outside my comfort zone, since getting older, and having some knee, ankle issues and Pilates is the ONE thing that doesn't hurt either of them.
