Excellent experience in the tour guide was very knowledgeable. He even gave tours on the way to the port that was unrelated to the tour of the bay. He explained the differences between the different locations such as Condado, Isla Verde, San Juan, nd Old San Juan as far as what type of activities were available in each one. I booked a combo tour for Cueva Ventana and Gozalandia Waterfalls via Tripadvisor. PR Tours was the actual service provider. The tour cost $135 per person. Honestly, that's a bit pricy in my opinion, but it's worth the money if you don't want the hassle of driving yourself. You are literally paying for someone to drive you to the attractions and that's it though. Our tour guide didn't visit the cave and didn't swim at the waterfall. The cave and waterfall were enjoyable experiences. The two star rating is primarily for the service provided by our tour guide Angel. Angel arrived promptly. He was an affable, young handsome twenty something. He picked us (party of 2) up in a minivan and said there'd be another two people joining us. He picked up another couple at a nearby hotel. The other couple were of Puerto Rican decent and one of them was a native of the island. We sat in the back of the van adjacent to the rear speakers, the male tour guest sat in the middle of the cabin and his girlfriend sat in the passenger seat. Angel and the other couple laughed and talked the entire trip in Spanish. Angel also blared loud Spanish rock/pop music throughout the ride without regard for us (the customers). He made no attempt to include us in the conversation and only talked to us a few times the entire day. Once was while helping us order lunch and another time was while the other couple was swimming at the waterfall. (My sister and I didn't swim) He also talked to us before picking them up and after dropping the off at their hotel. Other than that it was as if we were invisible. Generally speaking, it's not the job of the tour guide to entertain guests so I don't care that he didn't talk to us. It didn't bother me that they were speaking in Spanish either. My problem was that Angel didn't provide the same level of service to ALL of us that day. He seemed to forget that he was working. He wasn't hanging out with his friends for the day. I get that he probably had a cultural connection with the other tourists, but that shouldn't have affected the way he did his job. At one point we got out of the car and all walked towards the waterfall. Angel began to point something out to the other tourists in Spanish. It seemed to be about the location, but he was clearly talking to them since he was well aware of the fact that we did not speak Spanish. I thought that was a bit rude because at that point he was blatantly excluding us from the conversation. Either make an effort to include everyone or don't talk to anyone at all. We were all tourists... we all PAID for the same experience. If the other couple had been white or another nationality (not of Latin/Hispanic decent) then Angel's behavior would've been different. My point is that it shouldn't matter who is on the tour. Everyone should be treated the same. Angel also drove much too fast at times in my opinion. He took curves and turns daringly fast without regard for how we (the paying customers) may have felt. The attractions were far from the city in an extremely mountainous region. The ride was bumpy with a lot of twists and turns. On two occasions I saw him cut drivers off as they were trying to merge on the highway. I don't think that he was purposely being reckless. I just don't think he's even aware of the way his driving may impact the tourists he encounters. In my opinion, he drove the way many young guys drive... fast and fearless. The problem with that was he was WORKING. He wasn't cruising with his buddies. He should be more conscious of his behavior and how it may be impacting his customers. I went on another tour via Tours by Locals and our tour guide provided excellent customer service. He was a careful driver, he asked us if the radio volume was ok and genuinely cared about the quality of the service he was providing. He was older though and had been giving tours for years so he understand that the needs of the customers is the only thing that mattered. I gave him a $20 tip and he earned every penny. I didn't give Angel a tip because I was unhappy with his level of service to us. He drove us to and from the attractions, but we paid for that. The tip isn't mandatory and shouldn't be expected by the service provider. It should be earned. I always tip and believe that people should do so generously or stay home so I felt bad about not tipping Angel, but he failed to earn it from US so I decided not to give him one. I did speak with a young lady from PR tours prior to the tour to confirm and found her pleasant and professional. I don't recall her name. This review isn't a reflection on PR tours or the overall experience I had dealing with them. I'd absolutely book a tour with PR Tours again in the future. read more

My wife and I booked the food tour with in Puerto Rico on our honeymoon and had a great time on the tour. Yuma our guide was great and we had a wonderful time. Cannot say enough great things about her specifically! We ended up booking 2 more tours in the upcoming days after having a great time and believing they were a reputable company. Unfortunately they canceled both tours. We booked on on their website direct on an open time time slot for the north tour. Got an email saying they would confirm tour within 24 hours and got no more info. I called after 24 hours with no confirmation and was then told they do not operate on Father's Day, although it was a time slot on their own website. By this time it was too late to reschedule with another company. We had also booked a tour with the company to the rainforest on trip advisor. Because we had a great time with Yuma we canceled a tour we had booked to go with this company, but once again the company canceled the booking, once again ruining plans. Companies bookings cannot be relied on and really took away from us experiencing Puerto Rico. read more

I'm a bit late, but it doesn't change the fact that Tonya, not only was the best Tour guide in PR; she was the best ever! I left Puerto Rico with not just memories from the best trip of my life, but a friendship. I can't wait to make my way back and get to tour the island more with her. Her knowledge of PR, the beautiful places it offers, it's natural wonders, and just her amazing hospitality, made it feel like I was right at home. The tour company cancelled when my tour was supposed to begin. I had booked a private tour with this company through Viator. I had confirmed the tour days before as well as on the day off with the manager. The time of my tour was 10:00; at 9:45 in that morning I had messaged the manager that we were running a few minutes late from breakfast. She was surprised I had messaged her and not the tour guide herself whom I had not heard from yet. At 10:00 after waiting in the lobby, I called the manager, and she informed me that my guide was sick with the flu and there were no other guides available. While I understand people can be sick, this was far too late for me that morning to make other arrangements on my last full day in Puerto Rico, therefore even though I had received a full refund, it entirely ruined the last day of my. Their failure to communicate and ability to provide a service resolution is unacceptable. read more

I am commenting specifically about my families' experience with Yuma on this awesome tour. If you want a true experience about Puerto Rican culture food and art this is the tour for you! I am 100% Puerto Rican and visited the island with my husband and daughter and wanted to show my daughter the true culture of where we are from. Yuma was amazing and exceeded all expectations in terms of knowledge education and culture. We learned a great deal from her about the music the history the food and the culture. I cannot recommend this tour enough! Just returned from my first trip to Puerto Rico. I booked three tours, all with different tour companies, by far Real PR Tours was my favorite. I was a lone traveler and several tour companies cancelled on me or wouldn't allow me to book a tour with them. I normally don't write reviews but the guides Tonya and Damian were so wonderful, helpful, and fun, I felt compelled to. I took the Nature Lovers Tour which I would take again. Only next time I will bring some water shoes and may try the food tour too. I would definitely recommend them to all. read more

Me and my friend did not have a good experience , although the couple were friendly and nice. They talked up the service to be this amazing thing but it was not , especially for the money we spent on it! We could have done this tour ourselves and got more out of it. The place they brought us to was beautiful however when they brought us snorkeling it was on this beach that the hotel guests go to and locals. Thinking it would be this amazing beach with great fish, it wasn't. Not including that they re use the snorkels that are cheap. The food was awful and they probably spent $3 getting it , my friend didn't even get what she wanted and her food was cold. We were supposed to have dinner on the beach but the beach they took us to was covered in sand flies so we couldn't enjoy our meal, we actually told one of the people that we were staying with that grew up there and they didn't know why they took us to that beach. Anyways we were so upset and shocked that our money went to that. They made a good profit off of us. Wouldn't recommend. read more
