My fridge recently stopped getting cold so it was due to a compressor. I called Niko and he came out the same day and quoted me $900 something for parts and labor. Told me that others would charge more like $1200. At that point I rather buy a new fridge and paid him $75. He told me he knew a brother who would haul my fridge away for free. . However before calling him I knew LG would do it for $450 flat rate plus tax. I ended up going with LG and I didn't have to pay anything for parts and labor since it was under warranty. I contacted Niko at 9:15 AM on a Sunday! He was supposed to have the day off to spend with his 2 month old son, which I was completely ok with. He called back within 30 min and said he can come out the same day. His expected arrival was between 11AM - 12 PM and came promptly at 11:15 AM. His services were quick and he explained every step of the way and more! He informed us of what triggered the issues with our igniter in the oven and had the correct parts and tools to fix it. The replacement igniter also had a protector so that it would last a lot longer. He was very efficient and quality of service was excellent. He got our oven up and running in less than 30 min! I would definitely contact Niko again for any appliance repair. He was very respectful of our home. We don't normally wear shoes in the house but we understand boots/shoes are the normal with repairmen. We told him he could wear his shoes if he would like, but he took them off in respect to us and our home. I was extremely impressed with Niko's immediate response time. Once I booked an appointment through yelp, he contacted me and let me know that he could actually come that SAME day as he had some other work in the area. I needed my dryer to be repaired because it was not producing any heat. Other companies were hard to get ahold of, did not have appointments for another 2 weeks, and had high estimate rates. This is our first home and first time needing fridge maintenance, so I sent a request for services through Yelp and Niko responded within minutes. His reviews speak for themselves and I knew he was the right person to ask for help. Having someone come to your home means you are trusting them to be helpful, kind and honest and Niko was all of those things. He was honest about what was wrong and what the cost would be, he explained everything in details that I could easily understand having no appliance repair experience. He advised us that it would make more sense to go with a new fridge (we currently have a used one) that would come with a warranty, or he could fix it but there could be more problems down the line that would add up in overall cost and just wouldn't make much sense to do. We paid him for the diagnostic and it was the best money spent because Niko provided so much knowledge and helped us with more insight into how the fridge needs to be installed, the best brand in his opinion (Bosch), information on the size needed and the best placement for the new fridge. Highly recommended! Niko was very helpful to us. He came out to diagnose the problem with our 16 year old refrigerator. We thought the compressor was failing from the sounds the unit was making. Niko not only confirmed this but clearly explained what had likely happened to it. (He was a wealth of knowledge about the LG compressor in our Kenmore Fridge).
