Let's call it what it is: A SCAM. I scheduled a service appointment to have my washer repaired after being told there would be a $75 diagnostic fee, which would be applied toward the repair if I chose to move forward. The technician arrived the next day within the scheduled timeframe, which was the only positive part of the experience. The technician used a shop vac to drain the remaining water from the washer and spent about 20 minutes in the laundry room while I remained in the living room. During that time, there was no communication about what he was checking, what issue he found, or what diagnostic steps were being performed. I never saw the washer taken apart, nor did he explain anything during the inspection process. Afterward, he simply stated that repairing the washer would cost the maximum amount to fix and suggested I should just buy a new washer instead. He identified the issue as the motor, but when I asked how he came to that conclusion, he struggled to provide a clear explanation and appeared unsure of his own diagnosis. A trustworthy and professional repair technician would normally walk the customer through the issue, explain what was found, and show evidence of the problem before recommending a costly replacement. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. Based on this interaction, I do not feel confident in the accuracy of the diagnosis or the integrity of the service provided. They checked out my dishwasher for a leak and told me it couldn't be repaired only replaced. I relayed this information to my property management company and when they came back they repaired the dishwasher. Afterward, they observed the water line running to the dishwasher was damaged and leaking and tried to tighten it. He told me to watch it for a leak and tell the company if it continues. When I contacted them saying it had continued and that I thought it was strange the appliance was repaired and not replaced after what he initially said, they said the technician never said any of that and that they weren't liable. All because they didn't want to pull the dishwasher out and replace the water line like they should have in the first place. Terribly dishonest and I can not recommend them. Expensive and overpriced! I asked for an estimate for a fridge cleaning of the water/ice lines and parts. I thought it would be complicated and he has to removed parts. So I agreed to an estimate of 195-250. He came and just took out the ice chest, cleaned the walls around it. And then cleaned the inside of the ice dispenser behind the doors and under the door. No parts were removed. I could have done all that myself. He was literally here for less than an hour. And did about 30mins of work. And he charged me 195. Telling me it's a fair price. Maybe I have been out of the loop with this kind of work. But how is that even fair price??? I could have done the job myself and save myself 200 dollars if I knew that was what he charged for the work he said he was gonna do. read more

Dimitri was friendly and very responsive, but when I asked for a quote he said that he needed to come and open the machine for a diagnostic. When he got to my home, he did not open the machine and then quickly quoted me the average price of a brand new unit to repair it without actually checking what the issue was. I suspect this "business" just makes money on diagnostic charges without actually fixing or diagnosing anything at all. Additionally, he said they do not take credit cards so I was forced to figure out how to venmo him? Very unprofessional. Dmitry of Simple Fix Appliance Repair did a fantastic job of diagnosing the problem with my GE top load washing machine. He responded very quickly to my E-mail request for help, and arrived exactly when he said he would. It was immediately obvious he knew his way around a washing machine. The lid on my machine had stayed locked after the cycle was finished. After running various diagnostic tests and determining the control panel and water pump were still good, he was able to determine the lid-lock mechanism needed to be replaced. He had to order the part, but it only took a day or so to arrive and then he came back over and installed it. He was very professional, honest, very kind, and very determined to fix the machine for us. The washing machine I thought would need to be dumped, is now back up and running and cost me less than $200.
