I have a 2009 Mercedes Benz C300 with the infamous, disastrous Steering Lock ELV / ESL Failure issue happened to me more than 2 months ago. My car wouldn't start, it wasn't a battery issue, but I replaced it anyway. Still car wouldn't start. I researched and found online from many sources and forums that the issue was the Steering Lock Module had died and it locked up the steering wheel mechanism and that's what makes the car not being able to start. Stupid Mercedes with their cheap parts. From reading all the forums, I found out that a lot of people opted to go the route of getting the Bypass Emulator to fix this problem once and for all and not have the factory module died on you again. It took me a long time to decide and to also find a local person to do it. Somehow I got lucky and found this youtube video of Kfir showing he could fix this specific problem and I called him up right away! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SudTJaorLKI Kfir answered the phone (he always answered his calls!) and said he can fix my issue if I tow my car to his friend's mechanic shop in downtown SJ. I towed my car to his friend's shop on a Friday, got my car back the next day. Less than 24 hrs! It has been more than 3 weeks since and my car has been running just fine! Kfir and his friend had to get my steering wheel out of the lock position by sawing off the factory module. Kfir installed the bypass emulator and reprogrammed the keys. I have to say thank you to Kfir for being reliable, quick, and efficient. His communication with me throughout the whole time was superb!
