Mike was friendly and knowledgeable off the bat. He exceeded expectations by not only doing the home warranty re-key, but also taking a look at a pocket door and yard gate. He was clear with pricing and estimates as well as efficient. He had all the materials and tools, including a matching door knob to replace an old beat up one. This company (also known as Dan's Pro-Lock) was hired through my home warranty service to rekey my new house and as everyone is saying - they will tell you most of your locks are "not covered" and will try to do the least amount of work possible. The guy that arrived was 15 minutes early (7:45am instead of 8am) and very unfriendly - whatever, as long as you can do the job. He said he could not change my sliding glass door locks since they were not covered under warranty, and even so - since they're "custom" he couldn't do it anyway. This can't be true - it's a standard lock that can be pulled out and rekeyed by anyone. Again, I bit my tongue and showed him to my master bedroom which has a standard deadbolt and door lock to the outside. He told me this was a specialty kind of Schlage lock (indicated by a cross above the lock?) that is impossible to rekey. He refused to change this lock and said I would need to buy a whole new lock set from a store. Finally, I asked him to just rekey my personal mailbox for inbound mail in my driveway. Again, he said this "wasn't covered". All in all, I called for up to six locks to be changed and only two were actually changed and I was still charged $75 by my home warranty service. You can be sure I'm calling to get a refund on this as what he did would have costed less from anywhere else. read more
