We split the fried shrimp platter and the shrimp etouffee (with dirty rice instead of white rice). The food was delicious. We went around 4pm on a weekday, so it was practically empty, but the atmosphere and vibe inside was incredible. I loved the nautical theme. They were playing a lot of rap music which was funny since we saw elderly people eating there who probably thought that was odd. I assume the nighttime vibe is lively and much different. And the restroom was not the cleanest there, even with an empty restaurant. But other than that, I'd recommend everyone go visit and enjoy!

We selected the Mr Crabby boil - pretty standard, 1/2 lb king crab (2 legs) 1/2 snow crab legs (1 set of legs), 1 snow crab claw ( one set claw plus legs), 2 pieces of corn, 4 pieces of sausage, 4 small red potatoes. The crab was cooked fine, the claw meat was a little overcooked but the corn itself was soft / soggy and overcooked. The drinks weren't bad at all, a hurricane and a vodka soda. The server had the crab crackers in their back pocket, not what I would consider clean especially with a $100+ boil that I'm about use them on and the final bill was $180 after tax, before tip. If I would have known l that I'd be paying $100 per person to spilt a boil and one drink each, I would have gone to Smashing Crab, SAT Asian, a Pappadeaux and spent probably a good amount less. Very disappointed given the surprise price point: talk about sticker shock and an average dining experience.

I found this place on Yelp because my husband and I were in the area. It has a high rating, so we decided to give it a try. When I tell you, I have NEVER received such a welcome from a restaurant! When we got out of the car, one of the staff came out, arms wide open and said, "Welcome!" The food, the FOOD! They did their thing with the food folks. I cleaned my plate til it shined! It was perfectly seasoned and well portioned. I had the fish and grits. I am from the South and grits are not so easy to nail perfectly. They got the grits genie back there in that kitchen! The decor is nice and not overpowering and it looks like you are visiting a close relative for dinner. This is now one of my top restaurants in the San Antonio area.

Unfortunately, my friend has shellfish allergies. She told them that and asked that they make sure her food not touch shellfish and then ordered the French toast and fried chicken. She loved the French toast but the chicken tasted burnt and she couldn't eat it (we heard the fire alarm go off while we waited for our food lol and suspect that may have been her chicken). My other friend didn't like the potato salad and sent it back and the chef came out personally and fixed it until my friend liked it - which was above and beyond. I can tell they are a sweet, godly couple and love that they do Bible studies twice during the week. I will say, my friend with the allergies had a severe allergic reaction that started when we left the restaurant and lasted for THREE days. So there was clearly some contamination somewhere - but I don't fault them for that. It can be hard trying to meet dietary restrictions. Don't think we'll be rushing to come back, but wish them all the best! I'm from Mississippi and there was nothing really Cajun about any of the food's flavors per se, but hey it's Texas.

(we live in san antonio) but... the experience this time was just ok, not fantastic. despite hubbie making reservations 3 weeks in advance, and restaurant knowing it was a celebratory occasion, we were seated at the very first table - which faces the entrance. awkward location. we pretty much ordered same meal as last time. mexican shrimp cocktail - sauce was very thick in an off putting way, but shrimp was fresh and nicely chilled. hubbie got shrimp & oysters with fries. he's not one to complain much, but he said all were a bit greasy & not as crispy as he'd like. i had shrimp, scallops & broccolini. plate came with not very well prepared broccoli - with no mention from server before or upon arrival of switch. how can broccoli be both under & over at same time? unsure, but parts were very hard and others too soft, so it went mostly uneaten. i would have asked for something else if id known they didnt have broccolini. scallops & shrimp were well prepared, but light, velvety sauce from last time was replaced with slightly "gloopy" and a bit greasy sauce, didnt look or taste very appealing. brussel sprouts were drenched in some type of mayo sauce that was not mentioned on the menu. so "crispy" brussel sprouts were soggy. SO... how much of this experience was on us? we didnt complain, we didnt send back, but we would have had to send EVERYTHING back and this was our anniversary. we are not that picky that every dish needs to be perfectly prepared to our liking. but for is to encounter a problem with every dish? maybe just a bad night. but i dont feel like we received the upscale experience we paid for. only one thing was as fantastic as we remembered - the creme brûlée!

For clarification I asked for a burger and waitress told me the only option available was the grilled cheese which was not worth $8 in my opinion.

It reminded me of a previous space that now houses a restaurant. It was fairly busy on a Thursday night, reservations were suggested. Our service started with the grilled oysters, spinach, bacon, cheese and seasoning. They were good but not great. The blackened grilled trout with dirty rice was one of the entrees. It was flavorful and a very good dish. The grilled red fish with crab meat, grilled shrimp, tomato, garlic, serrano peppers, and creamy buttery sauce over dirty rice was our other entree. It was tasty, not over-salty, and quite tender. The dirty rice was good but not great. The food at Bourbon Street Seafood Kitchen was good but not memorable. I was not sorry we tried them but also don't feel drawn to return. The decor and setup of the restaurant felt like a temporary pop up with no individuality as to who they are. The mashed potatoes, however, was the best out of the meal. Warning about this restaurant: they charge you an additional 8% food tax on top of regular taxes. This is a huge red flag!

It did have a good price for cocktails which was nice though! The espresso martini was great, however the beans were a bit chewy. I switched to an old fashioned made with Buffalo Trace and it was delicious though. Service was kinda spotty with my waiter disappearing quite a bit. Maybe they see a table with one diner and think they're not going to get a decent tip. I had to ask another server for something at one point which should never be the case. The food was good though. It was hard to decide and since I was on a budget with a work expense, I had to choose wisely and put the booze on a separate tab. The salad was good and fresh and their cajun French dressing was bad. I switched to ranch and was able to enjoy it. The Catfish dish was delicious and came with shrimp, lump crab and oysters. Nice portion size and I was mostly satisfied. The sauce was pretty good for being outside of Louisiana, but still not "authentic". Is anywhere outside of LA great though? Luckily, it was walking distance from my hotel so easy to get to from there. It's on a "frontal" road so you may be driving in circles if you venture here on your own. I'd probably see what else San Antonio has to offer if I return to the area though as it didn't blow me away.
