If I can rate this place as a 0/5 stars, I would My mother…read morebroke her wrist so she went to urgent care for the first time. Because the break is severe enough to needing surgery, my mom wanted to see an orthopedic specialist asap. The provider referred her to Rothman Orthopedics located at Lankenau Medical Center, which is 1 HOUR AWAY on 3:30pm. HOWEVER, my mom did not leave urgent care until 3PM but supposedly they told my mom that as long as theres an appointment made, it will be okay. We rushed through heavy traffic. I assumed that my mother was aware of the office hours. We made it to Rothman around 4:15pm. The problem is that there were no doctors available because they closed at 4:30PM. Not even on-call. I asked the receptionist if there is anything that they can do. She could have been EMPATHETIC and COMPASSIONATE to our situation. She was so non genuine and I could tell that once its close to closing time, she is mentally done, which is not acceptable. Mind you, my mother is in so much pain holding on to her wrist. The receptionist could have at least said "go to the ED" and/or be EMPATHETIC to our situation rather than looking at us with a blank stare. Even though my mother never saw the doctor in the office, the experience with the receptionist was not acceptable. I would NOT recommend this place if you want to be treated with respect and with care.

Tony's approach to Physical Therapy is hands-on, patient-centered, and caring. I've talked to him…read moreabout his philosophy -- good technique isn't enough, you need to have good people skills, and establish relationships with your clients to build trust and confidence. He doesn't sit in his office and shuffle papers (although, as the owner, he has to do that too): he's out in the large, well-equipped rooms talking to and working on clients. He also believes that just telling people to do this or that exercise isn't enough: he explains what physical issue each one addresses, how it works, and basically WHY you're doing it. He listens, he answers questions, and he obviously enjoys interacting with people. His staff are chosen not only for their PT skills but also for their people skills. It's an incredibly friendly place -- the staff and the clients are on first-name basis, they're all comfortable with each other, and there's a lot of laughing and joking. The relaxed and sociable atmosphere really facilitates the therapy, which is already excellent. This is my second stint of PT; the first was following major back surgery, and this one follows knee replacement. I'll be back again when I have the other knee done, and it may be that I'll continue until then: getting back in shape before the surgery would be a major advantage, and a lot of Tony's clients have been going for extended periods. Try it -- you'll love it.

I have the pleasure of getting excellent care from Tara Harte since a year ago. She is the best;…read morevery knowledgeable, professional and extremely kind. I don't go to anyone but her as I have never had any PT know what she knows. The only bad thing at this location is the loud noise factor. When people do not have clients they talk very loud and laugh loud so that the rest of us trying to work with our therapist cannot be relaxed, it's very disconcerting. It is certainly no way to run a professional business. BE QUIET! That is the reason for four stars. Tara rates five stars.

You are reading the review from the official Idiot of the Year award winner, according to FDC…read more Yes, me. Back a couple of months ago I set out to wash my windows. No problem, they tilt in so I don't have to go outside, etc. I'm almost done and I notice that there's a tiny gap at the top of one of the windows where it didn't quite make it all the way up. Hmmm....what to do. Oh, I know. Get on a kitchen chair and just push it up the rest of the way. Note that my kitchen chairs are on wheels, and they rock backwards so you can kick back. As I was rolling the chair up to the wall, I remember thinking this perhaps wasn't a good idea. Then, nah, it will only be a second, I'll be fine. You can guess what happened next: The chair started to roll, and so I grabbed the window sill to stop it, then the chair tilted backwards and I'm on the floor, with one sore shoulder. FDC took me to Urgent Care where they declared it a sprain, two weeks later Ortho announces it's a broken bone, and six weeks after that I'm sent to PT for 'stretching'. So off I go to Excel Physical Therapy. They're in the old Bell Telephone Building in between the old Viking Inn and St. Colman's Catholic church on Lancaster Ave. There's a lot accessible from Lancaster and also from Church Road. They're on the second floor, the facility is clean, bright and open. I'm evaluated by Andrew Bacon, who becomes my regular PT. Andrew was the consummate clinician: professional, friendly, careful and thorough. He gave me increasingly challenging activities to do during sessions and at home, and six weeks later I'm nearly pain free. I hope I never have to go back, because PT is not fun, however I'm so glad to have worked with Andrew to get myself back to who I was.

Nothing but great things to say about the team here and the work they do. Friendly front office,…read moreeasy checkin process, and plenty of parking. Lots of great people, all working to help you get back you. No judging -- just helpful, incremental progress to help instill a self-help mindset to accomplish your goals. The team here really goes above and beyond and always has each other's backs. I've been to other PT spots but this feels like a combined team effort, and with much brighter and sports-oriented facility. That said, it's a complete mix of demographics and ages of patients. So regardless of whether you're an 18 year old trying to get back in the game, or an 80 year old that just needs to regain their balance, this is a great place for you.

Between the two of them, I was able to regain full use of my arm & shoulder. Before I began PT, I was barely able to drive, shower, do household chores, cook, or sleep without extreme pain. I am now able to do all of the above with ease and full range of motion. Erin and Nick are professional, pleasant to be around, and really know what they're doing. They are truly dedicated to helping people. My first day there, Erin developed an effective home exercise plan for me, which I will continue doing now that formal PT has ended. I would highly recommend BMSR to anyone who is in need of PT. In general, the facility is large, clean, cheerfully decorated and filled with state-of-the-art equipment. Their music selection is upbeat and inspires you to get moving. I had no issues with billing, scheduling etc. Staff at the desk were extremely helpful and nice. Five stars out of five!
