Rebecca is beyond talented and words can't express how lucky I am to have worked with her for my October 2014 wedding in NYC!!! Rebecca does amazing things with textures. I absolutely love her range in style. She's great at interpreting vague ideas and turning them into beautiful realities. We worked with Rebecca and team for multiple events over our wedding weekend in Brooklyn, taking place on our rooftop, at Frankies Spuntino, and the Green Building. They are so great to work with and REALLY stretched our budget beyond what I thought was possible. They made the mandap for our Hindu ceremony and I was completely blown away by how lush and beautiful it was. We had an extremely tight floral budget and I was super nervous about the tables looking too bare. We got married at Brooklyn Winery which is already a beautiful space, so we went with mostly bud vases for the dinner tables and they looked perfect. They chose vases with varying heights, colors, and sizes, and the final look was eclectic but still very elegant. I loved my bouquet and the bridesmaids loved theirs too. They lasted a very long time as well - one of my friends took some flowers home and said they were still looking great a full week later! Our chuppah was unbelievable. It ended up being a relatively last minute add-on and while it was not cheap, it was gorgeous and made for a stunning focal point during our ceremony. They do a lot of weddings at Brooklyn Winery and were able to put together a chuppah with cascading flowers and greenery that fit perfectly in the space. I communicated primarily with Andree and she was outstanding. She was extremely responsive and flexible throughout the entire process. I don't know much about flowers but she was able to put together beautiful, unique pieces based on my vague preferences and color palette. She was also able to accommodate several last-minute changes. The proposal she sent us was very detailed, with pictures of samples and detailed pricing, and there were no surprise costs or fees at the end. When my husband and I initially started thinking about flowers, we had only a vague idea of what we wanted for our wedding. We knew we wanted different; we knew we wanted kind of fallish but not over-the-top; we knew how much we wanted to spend; and we knew, above all else, that we wanted a floral designer who was reliable. After meeting with a few florists, the choice was obvious-- Rebecca, absolutely. Through loads of emails back and forth, Rebecca helped me to hone in on a "look." Over the course of my engagement, we emailed many times. Rebecca was always friendly, helpful, and flexible when it came to adding or deleting things from our initial agreement. Then, a few weeks before the big day, we met up again and selected beautiful and unique props for our centerpieces (books, oil lamps, votives, etc), and we were set! I was totally excited. I knew we were going to have the most gorgeous wedding! A thing I learned about wedding planning is that you can envision and envision, but you never really know what your wedding will look like until you actually see it in person. When Rebecca arrived that morning with my bouquets and decor I realized that she understood my vision better than I understood it myself. I have never had a person know what I wanted more than I knew! Every single thing that she came with was outstanding, BY FAR exceeding my expectations (which were high!). I was completely blown away. Rebecca delivered more than she promised, throwing a few extra flowers in places I didn't even expect to see them (a few around our card box, for example)! I wish I could give Rebecca 6 out of 5 stars -- she is AMAZING. She understood exactly the look we wanted, and she completely nailed it 100%, even better than I imagined it. She was incredibly responsive, always getting back to me in the same day, sometimes within a few minutes. She showed us tons of photos of what she was planning and talked us through everything. And on the day of the wedding she was there even before I was! She spent hours setting up and making everything look perfect, and it absolutely was. Everyone raved about the flowers! She did my bouquet, floral headbands for my bridesmaids, corsages for the moms and grandmas, two huge branchy displays for the ceremony site, flowers for the bar, and this INCREDIBLY AMAZING giant arrangement for the urn at the front of the venue. It was mind-blowing. And it was really affordable for everything; she doesn't inflate her prices crazily like big cookie-cutter florists. I cannot recommend Rebecca highly enough. I saw photos of other weddings she's done and she would work just as well with a romantic bride, or a simple-sweet bride. Rebecca and her team are SO TALENTED! When I met Rebecca I had already gone through 3 previous floral designers. As a guy, I'm not too into florals so I wouldn't say I was the easiest client. My husband and I didn't have much of a vision, but we had a lot of expectations. We met with Rebecca and her level of professionalism and vibe made me feel comfortable right away. She was extremely patient while going through the planning phase accommodating all the changes I requested. When you're planing a wedding its extremely difficult to feel confident about everything you say "yes" to but with Rebecca I knew that she always had our best interest in mind. After all she loves what she does and it definitely shows. I purposely saved myself 15 minutes before the doors open to our wedding so I could go into the space and let it all sink in. This had to be one of the wisest decisions I ever made because everything Rebecca put together had me speechless. So much attention to detail and just flat our gorgeous. I decided to work with Rebecca after meeting with two other florists. I really liked how she listened to me. And when her proposal came back, it was exactly what I wanted and more. We did a test run with Rebecca about a month before the wedding and she put together one of the most beautiful centerpieces that I've ever seen. I was beyond impressed by the flowers Rebecca & her team provided for my July wedding and the night before for our rehearsal dinner. I met with Andree nearly a year before our big day, and we worked closely together every step of the way. Andree was beyond patient with me as we worked through revisions to the proposal & design throughout that time. I agree with a previous review that Rebecca deserves 6 out of 5 stars. She is overwhelmingly creative and talented.... I am still floored by how beautiful and cool our wedding arrangements and personals were. For our winter wedding, she made an awesome branch arrangement with orchids and crystals to hang our seating cards, turned our ceremony site into a different place with tons of petals and created the coolest and most unique table centerpieces: different sizes and shapes of containers holding different flowers on wooden rises. Amazingly, she is also as lovely to work with as she is expert at her work; she stayed true to our vision and at the same time, offered exciting ideas. Rebecca worked within our budget, sent updates and pictures and modified a very detailed proposal on a regular basis, and throughout the wedding planning process, made floral decisions really fun. I wish I could leave 10 stars (not just 5) for Rebecca. She was absolutely the highlight of my wedding -- honestly I think her flowers looked better than I did! Rebecca outdid even our highest expectations. She is very sincerely a floral genius -- she has a magical sense for texture and color that literally makes you want to gush. I was especially blown away by how Rebecca used her intuition to deal with two tricky situations: 1) I had no idea how to describe what I wanted. I don't think I really knew what I wanted, but I pointed to flowers that I liked and to ones that I didn't, and somehow Rebecca just got it. She compiled an extremely helpful online photo album, and we commented back and forth to get the colors, types of flowers, and composition just right. 2) My mom and I couldn't quite agree on the colors. Mom insisted on purple and orange together, and I was worried it would clash. Rebecca listened carefully to what each of us was looking for, and both my mom and I were blown away with the final result. She perfectly nailed it -- we had rich, lush oranges and purples that created a warm vibe, and it definitely did not clash. In fact, I was completely obsessed with my bouquet....it was so ME, even though Rebecca had only met me once or twice before! All of the flowers were so rich with both bold colors and soft yet crisp textures. 3 months later, I am still jealous of whoever got to take it home. The floral displays, the corsages, the girls' bouquets, the men's flowers -- it was all just exquisite. So beautifully done. Lovely little details like ribbon around the bouquets, held by pins; the tulip leaves hiding the "mechanics" of the gorgeous square-vased table decorations; she even made a gorgeous "tree" decor made from whimsical branches and orchids, which she attached individually by hand. My family is still dazed and confused as to why our Brooklyn wedding was treated to half dead flowers not even close to the color palette chosen by the bride and groom, when other clients seem to have had a fantastic experience. The couple received a refund, but as you might imagine, were devastated. The caterer actually ran out on the street to buy flowers from street vendors, as the ones delivered were standing in brown water, wilted. We threw out the ones delivered, and improvised with the table flowers, but we couldn't remake the bridal bouquet and other pieces. Rebecca did an amazing job as our florist for our wedding. Overall she was extremely affordable, flexible, imaginative, and she created table arrangements that people loved. Rebecca made a beautiful chuppah that she provided at an amazing price. She actually said that she quoted a price that ended up being below the total cost of the chuppah, but that she would stick to the price she had quoted initially. I thought this action was extremely nice and professional of her. We planned our New York City wedding while we were both living in San Diego California, so email and internet communication were key to our planning efforts. Rebecca made a Google Web Album so that she and I could easily share photos of ideas for colors, flowers and table arrangements. She also was extremely responsive via email and phone throughout our whole mutli-month planning process. The end result was beautiful flower arrangements for myself, the ceremony, the cocktail hour, and the reception. She also provided wonderful antique books for our reception tables which, and an assortment of interesting vases for many of the arrangements. When I came to her to do my wedding flowers with only a vague understanding of what I wanted (blush color palette, garden-like, a bit wild), she was able to interpret (a thousand times better than I could) what I actually wanted, and ended up giving me so much more. It was her suggestion to add a small pop of burgundy to the color palette, which made our arrangements stand out in such a gorgeous way. Our bouquets and small corsages were simply perfect - everyone was so impressed with them and I received compliments the entire night. I found out only later that because our tent was so hot during the set up of our wedding that Rebecca spent hours spritzing the arrangements to make sure they stayed fresh for the evening. If one flower wilted during the course of our 85 degree night, I don't think anyone noticed, but it's this level of care that she puts into her work that I think really sets her apart from other florists. Rebecca designed a gorgeous arch for my wedding for my husband and I to get married under. I had very strong feelings about what I wanted but I was fuzzy on the details of how it would actually work. I kept throwing ideas at her like "Wuthering Heights." "The Secret Garden." "I Capture the Castle." She worked with me and added her own inspiration to turn my vague notion into reality. We were blown away by the flowers at our wedding. Even in my wildest dreams I didn't think they would turn out so beautifully. I met with Rebecca at her studio and she was wonderful. She even set up a pretend arrangement on the floor with measuring tape so that we could be sure the small bud vase groupings, candles, and terrarium cloches were placed just right on the long tables with the larger arrangements. It was perfect. Her team executed everything gorgeously on the day. And as the day approached, she was happy to edit the plans via email as needed. Everything turned out perfectly. I didn't need to do a thing and it looked stunning--so many compliments from our guests. Um, just remember to actually open the box with the boutineers and coursages. We forgot about them! But it didn't matter, we found them toward the end of the night! haha And they were awesome. We were so happy overall. I highly recommend Rebecca Shepherd if she's in your budget. Rebecca is absolutely amazing and super talented. From the card table arrangements down to the boutonnieres, it was absolutely gorgeous and smelled amazing! I am beyond pleased with her work! We met with her once a little less than a year from our wedding to give her an idea of what we were looking for and she took it from there. The end result was a MILLION times more beautiful than the original inspo images we pulled. I felt like she is able to get a great sense of what a person is looking for and their style and executes it perfectly. Hands down one of the best investments we made! Where do I begin? Two weeks after our wedding, my flowers still bring tears to my eyes at how perfect they were when I look at the pictures. Everything from our ceremony space to the memory table to the reception tables to the bouquets and boutonnieres will be my most favorite part of our whole day. What Rebecca described as "Frenchy Rock n' Roll" got us and our style down to a "T." With our love of all things French and vintage with that rock n' roll edge, Rebecca created a wonderland of visual florals that only leaves me saying, I felt like the luckiest girl ever to walk into that room and see the transformation Rebecca had created. I am a bride who will always remember the way the flowers looked and smelled, the detail and care that went into every opened petal, every burning oil lamp, every baby breath, every crystal draped from our wish tree, every flickering teal taper candle and every strategically placed vintage book on those tables. Rebecca is beyond a talented florist. She "sees" and "reads" people to create things that they haven't even thought of in their wildest dreams. I feel so fortunate to have worked with her and every meeting and conversation from the jump was a pleasure and joy. I cannot rave about her enough, as a vendor and as a person.
