She's amazing and caring. I had botox injections in my jaw. I had some paralysis in part of my face, but otherwise it was effective.

Summary: Two…read moreunsuccessful attempts to make one crown. Traumatization and damage to the underlying tooth structure. Two visits to another prosthodontist to prove to Dr. Postesta-Knoll that both crowns were defective. Partial refund. The details of my entire experience are as follows: I saw Dr. Potesta-Knoll in May of 2025 and she made a new crown for me. After I left her office I had pain and discomfort to the extent that I was unable to chew on that side and had a lot of sensitivity with respect to hot and cold. I mistakenly assumed that this would go away quickly and a few days later I left for three months out of the country Unfortunately I had to endure this pain and discomfort for over three months. When I got back in August the discomfort had finally abated, but I noticed there was a lot of space between the new crown and the adjacent tooth and that food was gathering there in a way it hadn't prior to the new crown. I made an appointment with Dr. Potesta-Knoll to express my concern about the excessive amount of space between the two teeth. At this second appointment I don't know what she did other than remove some material from the tooth. When I got home I realized that it made no sense that taking off material could close the gap between the new crown and the adjacent tooth. At this point I was disconcerted enough that I made an appointment with a very experienced and highly regarded prosthodontist at 450 Sutter Street. During my first appointment he observed that not only was the crown too far apart from the adjacent tooth, there was also a ledge on the crown that made the interface between the crown and gum irregular. He sent me an email with these observations and I took it to Dr. Potesta-Knoll. She didn't seem particularly happy when she read it, but she redid the crown. Before she did the second crown I confirmed with her his observations about the "ledge" and excessive distance between the crown and the adjacent tooth, as I wanted to make sure both problems were resolved when she did re-did the crown that day. After the numbing medication wore off it felt to me that the new crown was still too far away from the adjacent tooth. I made a second appointment with the other prosthodontist and he observed that there was no longer a ledge on the crown, but that the distance between the new crown and adjacent tooth was still too much. I then forwarded his email to me about the second crown still being too far from the adjacent tooth to Dr. Potesta-Knoll's office. I received the following response from their office, "Wow, even after the second crown he feels the contact is open. It was closed when you left our office per Dr. Potesta." Not surprisingly I found the statement absurd. I'm clearly not a dentist, but don't see any way how the crown could've magically moved after I left their office. At this point I realized that there was no way I was going to trust her to do the crown properly a third time and so I sent an email requesting a refund. They requested that I send yet another narrative from the other prosthodontist stating the ongoing problem with the distance between the crown and the adjacent tooth. I did this and received an email saying they would be issuing me a refund. The good news is that I got a refund ($2,300). The bad news is that I was originally charged $3,135 for the one visit where she did the first crown. I sent them yet another email politely inquiring why I only received $2,300 and they said the $835 ($3,135-$2,300) was for an exam, a "core buildup" and x-rays. I sent them another email saying I would be happy to pay for the x-rays, but felt that it was unfair to be charged for an exam and "core buildup" when in fact I received absolutely no benefit whatsoever from my entire interaction with Dr. Potesta-Knoll. Not only did I not have any benefit from anything with the exception of the x-rays, but had to endure three months of discomfort following her doing the first crown because she traumatized the underlying tooth structure. Additionally I had the added cost and inconvenience of seeing the other prosthodontist three times to deal with this dental nightmare. Receiving a partial refund is a little like taking your car to have it repaired and not only it not being repaired properly, but the shop also damaging it. In order to get a refund they require two more emails from another shop detailing what was wrong (as well as my having to pay the other shop). When they do get the second email they deduct money for their "evaluation" and for work that provided absolutely no benefit.

Had an ongoing lip and mouth irritation that other doctors couldn't figure out. With the questions he asked me when he talked with me, it was obvious he'd not taken the time to read all the forms I filled out with questions about my condition. He ordered no tests, or medications, nothing except he wanted me to come back for another visit. Realized they were out of network with my insurance but they assured me they'd send in the appropriate forms so I'd be reimbursed which they didn't. Had to get ahold of them several times to which they finally sent it 3 months later, and no they never did tell me there was yet another form I had to send in. Being treated by another specialist currently who is way more competent!

My nightmare of an experience began when I was referred here because of my last appointment when my…read moredentist showed me the x-ray image of the cyst caused by my wisdom tooth. My dentist said it was a dentigerous cyst. Then she referred me to Song oral surgery. So I went there and they did additional x-rays (that I paid for mind you, remember this, it will be important later.) Then Dr. Mashkoor showed me the cyst x-ray and she said my last dentist didn't know what cyst this was and she assured me it could be even worse, a more dangerous cyst so encouraged that I get a biopsy/surgery. Then I was scared of course, because she said it could be very dangerous and turn into something worse long term. So I decided I should just do the biopsy. I agreed and paid around 284 dollars for the x-ray/consultation and another 169 for the biopsy. Fast forward a week later, I came back to the office after I suffered, and burned through my insurance money (total costs around 2k). Then I found out it was dentigerous and that I didn't need a biopsy at all. Then I asked for the wisdom tooth removal then they said anesthesia would be done by a specialist and it was out of network. Even though I was referred here and they show up as in Guardian network, for anesthesia, it's $2000 and not in network. Then to top it all off, I wanted to get my medical scans like x rays that I already paid for. AND THEN they charged me 22 dollars for them! On top of the 200+ I already paid. Just the worst experience ever! I bled a lot and did a surgery I didn't need when I could have had my wisdom tooth removed this WHOLE TIME! I wasted my money on nothing I still have my cyst, I still need my wisdom tooth removed, and this is 2000 dollars later!!!! :( And the worst part is I can't even get help from them as they are out of network. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Okay, this is after appointment #3…read more This office is cute, cozy, and welcoming, just like the staff. Every time I walk in, I feel a sense of ease because of the calm, zen-like atmosphere. The reception area is compact yet peaceful, and my recent visits have been at 8 a.m., so I've been greeted with really nice early-morning energy. One detail I really appreciated: Dr. Baysac has a photo book of her travels to Honduras near the reading materials by the window. I highly recommend taking a look while you wait. It's both eye-catching and eye-opening. I honestly think she should make more of these because I really enjoyed flipping through it. Dae at the front desk is a great way to start your day. Pun intended. She's easy to talk to and has such a caring spirit. She actually reminds me of a long-lost friend. Julie and Anna, the dental assistants, have also been wonderful, kind, professional, and comforting during my visits. They help make the whole experience feel much less intimidating and much more personal. Dr. Wei is also incredibly gentle and accommodating while working on me. One funny thing I noticed: she and her assistants have such interesting and entertaining conversations that they could honestly start a podcast for patients in the chair. Their energy somehow makes the appointment feel lighter and more enjoyable. I will say, like with many dental offices, I tend to feel a bit cautious when it comes to billing and payments, just because I've had confusing or unexpected charges elsewhere in the past. That said, so far everything here has been explained clearly, and I haven't run into any issues, which I really appreciate. Overall, every visit has left me feeling cared for and at ease, which says a lot because going to the dentist isn't usually something people look forward to. I'm really grateful to have found this place. Looking forward to appointment #4.
