I am writing to formally express my concern regarding the customer service I received from San Francisco Dental Center. I called the office to inquire about my daughter's dental results and her prescribed pain medication following her appointment the day before. I was placed on hold for approximately ten minutes. When I asked to speak with a manager, the interaction did not improve. Unfortunately, the manager's behavior mirrored that of the receptionist--both were aggressive, unprofessional, and extremely discourteous. This experience was very upsetting, especially given that the call concerned my child's care and well-being. I expected professionalism, empathy, and clear communication, none of which were provided during this interaction. Due to this experience, I will not be returning to this office for my own care, nor will I be bringing any of my children there in the future. A dental office should be a place where patients and families feel supported and respected, and that was not the case here. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and used to improve the level of customer service provided to patients and families. read more

I neglected to post this update in 2019. After just five years the implant failed and needed replacing. They had used some kind of outsized screw and unknown super glue to attach the implant that was almost impossible to remove. My dentist had to literally grind down the tooth around the screw over the course of four separate visits. But even then, it was stuck so hard he needed an extended torque implement (think mechanic!) to loosen it. read more

I cannot say enough great things about my dental implant experience with Dr. Rabinovich and his staff. I was really nervous as I've never had major dental work done before, and not only was his staff knowledgeable, especially his assisting nurse, he and his assisting nurse also worked quickly and efficient throughout the procedure. Get a second opinion before you get a service from him. Also, I suggest rechecking his work in case he forgets something. Sometimes he might charge you without actually having rendered a service if it is for multiple tooth. It is hard to find a good dentist, and HE sure isn't someone we are returning to. I have never needed extensive dental work before beyond a filling. When my root canal failed, I had to have the tooth extracted and had a dental implant put in. Dr. Rabinovich and his team were great. They explained the whole process and procedure and made me feel comfortable with the work they would perform. The extraction and implant was pretty painless. So much so that I barely needed any pain medication after. This was not what I expected, but definitely welcomed! My surgery on my upper jaw was only one week ago. This is not a review of the outcome. Rather on the front office staff who are more concerned with identify things they don't do, than concern about patient well being. Be concerned! Very high turn over of office staff. Inconsistent information and general lack of follow through. "It's not our job" attitude prevails, placing burden of education and SDI paperwork on the patient - very difficult with an oral procedure and jaw that is wired shut. Also, makes focus on recovery secondary. Monica specifically is lazy, lacks empathy, and generally rude -- the worst kind of rude -- where she "acts" helpful - "I'll order the the form - it will take 4 weeks to get it..." but is not really being helpful (like simply filling it out on line which would seconds). You know the type! If you are thinking about getting this procedure don, remember, you will not be able to speak as your jaw is wired shut. You will need the office to be a proactive advocate to help navigate the SDI process. This office is NOT the advocate you require. If you are able to take off work without the worry of pay for a few months, then you may be ok. read more

Worse experience ever. The rep told me "your consultation would be free and we're just going to charge the panoramic image from your wisdom teeth". Then Dr Alexandre explained your wisdom surgery is about 4-5 hours job and I got a overcharged invoice from them. Luckily the next day I saw another dentist, the second dr did the whole job in 10 min and they charged me less than what dr alex charged my insurance without doing anything. read more

So I was referred here for wisdom tooth extraction. It was little frustrating that they couldn't give me an estimate over the phone without the evaluation/examination and x-ray. Afterward they quoted me the price which seemed fair. They asked if I wanted the optional Exparel injection that is post-op long duration anesthetic. It was worth the extra $300 because most insurance doesn't cover it. I opted for local anesthetic which was faster that general because I didn't need to be escorted home. My initial x-ray and consultation appointment was fast and Dr. Rabinovich explained my x-rays and was quick to explain the procedure and cost breakdown of the extraction of my four wisdom teeth. I was very nervous on the day of, 3/27, but the staff was very professional and did well to calm me down with some friendly conversation. Best dental experience ever. Hands down. I was in severe pain and they got me in in less than 24 hours. I had a root canal from Dr. Walley (don't go there) that failed and had to have my number 3 molar removed and replaced with an implant. It was pretty gnarly being awake for this procedure (I fear all dentists and doctors like the plague) but I basically felt better by the time I got to my car 15 minutes after surgery. No real pain just weird pressure and relief. My neck was more sore from the pulling out of the tooth than the implant. Robin was very VERY sweet about me being a total wuss. It was like having a close friend there during the procedure holding my hand. I hate going to the dentist and now maybe not so much. I would recommend taking an Uber instead of paying for parking and wasting time driving downtown. Thanks guys! I will tell all my friends about my experience. read more

I was referred to see Dr. Rabinovich to have a tooth pulled. I did not want to have a bridge as I would have to have 2 additional teeth shaved down and crowned so I opted to have a dental implant. I haven't had a treatment here yet. They have a contact form on their website along in addition to a phone number. I filled out the contact form with both my phone number and email address and asked a very specific question - whether they have any availability on a certain day (two days, actually). Also made a note that email is a preferred means of communication during weekdays. I got a reply and it basically asked me to call. Anyone whos afraid of the dental pain SHOULD look here. I just had it done a week ago. And to make this clear, Im the weakest when comes to pain especially related to dental, I was shaking really bad when i finally made myself to go there, even if the staff there was trying to tell me that its not that bad but still like many of you im having a lot of doubts.Especially when they give me the form that i have to sign before surgury which lists out every possible worst outcome that could happen after implant, i was scared to.death tbh, but the staff here is really.nice and patience, they walk me through each possibility one by one and make sure i was finally comforrable doing it. But again im a chicken when comes to these things so i still asked for the laughing gas. But the surgery itself takes less than half an hr, and honestly now i feel like i.didnt even need the laughing gas if I knew its that easy. For me.this was.even better than a filling, cuz i still felt a little uncomfortable during drilling during filling but to my surprise, during the implant i was not feeling a thing other than some pressure, so i was pretty shocked when the doctor packed me and said that hes finished, cuz i thought hes only done the extraction but hasnt started the implant yet....so ha my implant ended up to be a cakewalk. And then i started to worry abt when my anethesia wears off, i bought all the painkiller juat in case, but again i wasted.that money, bc it really doesnt hurt, i did feel a little weird on that side but to be honest i resume eating the next day haha..well so i ended up only taking.only the antibiotics. This entire process was painless,.i wish i could know this earlier, bc i had a LOT of stress before, and now i know that those are so unnecessary. Thats why i wanted to.post a detailed comment here, i really hope my painless experience can reduce your stress and worries and help you make the right decision. And not to mention that the stuff here were extremely nice and understanding, I had endless questions and some of them are to be honest silly questions, but regardless they were always willing to listen and comfort me the best they can, Like they trully care. What an incredible experience I had. Like many post before me, I was nervous before my surgery. I had 9 teeth extracted and 6 implants done. A lot of work in my mind for a single visit. Dr. Alex and his staff were incredibly professional and compassionate. I was stressing out when I sat in the chair and they calmed me down. I must say, the stress was for not. When I told co-workers In was going to have Implants done, I heard nothing but horror stories. But right from the start of the procedure I was assured that there would minimal pain and dis comfort. The day of my surgery I was put under and when I woke up the implants were in and my temporary bridge installed. I had minor discomfort for a day and that was it. my mouth feels and looks great. i am suspect of any business (including the dental business, that does not give a BASIC price quote over the phone.) I said to the receptionist at the Rabinovich Dental Office. "I realize you can't lock in a price over the phone but before i decide to come in for a consultation, i have to know if i can afford you so i don't waste your time or mine. Please tell me a ballpark figure for one implant with cap, a lower molar. Assuming my mouth is healthy and i don't need a bone draft or other surgical procedure what would just that screw into the bone and the cap cost APPROXIMATELY? I will not hold you to a set price until after you look at my mouth". I got the royal run around at the Rabinovich office by the woman who answered the phone. She launched into this long speech about how 'ethical' the office was. Baloney! 'Ethical' to me is being price sensitive to people who need and can't afford costly dental treatment. Dr. Rabinovich, just give a fair price to people who don't have medical insurance and they will tell you, you don't have to tell them, how 'ethical' your office is. DENTAL WORK COMES DOWN TO COST for most of us. In Southern California, i found an implant dentist. ADHP.COM 1800 343-2347 All he does is implants. $1500 including crown FOR LOWER MOLAR IF MOUTH IS HEALTHY. He has 3 offices. I did a thorough background search on him. Excellent. I have family i can stay with in the area. The office was straightforward with their cost. I feel Rabinovich is doing what i call "The San Francisco Price Gouge". We get it all the time in the Bay Area don't we? Jacked up prices. Thank God for Dental colleges cranking out more and more dentists. Dr. Rabinovich did an excellent job with my bone graft and implant. My head was run over by a car a few years ago and I had severe injuries to my jaw. I have a couple of plates and at least 8 screws helping to keep my jaw together. I researched the oral surgeon that my general dentist referred me to, but decided to go with Dr. Rabinovich because of his extensive experience with traumatic jaw injuries; needless to say I'm happy I did the extra work and went here. My dentist is impressed and happy with the work, and I will be getting my crown installed sometime soon. read more

I had a great experience in this place 3 weeks ago ! I agreed, but was worry about putting 4 implants at the same time , but it was amazing ! No pain during procedure, not even after.
