Dr. Brattasani is an excellent dentist. Her schedule was always very busy, probably over scheduled, and she is also in the process of retiring and scaling back her practice. The dental hygienists in the office are uniformly very good. My most recent dental work was done by one of the new partners who owned the firm now Dr. Kaitlyn Du. Her work was excellent. If you go to this office as a new patient, now you're not going for CB, you won't be able to get an appointment, you are going for the new dentists who purchased her business couple of years ago. Amended Review: The owner called me after my original review and she apologized for the miscommunication. I just stress to make sure your insurance is contracted with that office. They are a very pleasant office and do a fantastic job clinically. Original Review: I have nothing against the people that work at this office, only their business practices. They make the patient pay upfront for the services then the office submits the dental claim to the patient's dental insurance. The dental insurance will then reimburse the patient for what they paid upfront. When I called to schedule my appointment, the office claimed to take my insurance. When filling out the new patient paperwork a few days in advance, I provided all of my dental insurance plan information. When I went in for my appointment, they forgot to mention they are not contracted with my specific plan, so I only received a check for half of what I paid. Cleanings and preventative care should be covered at 100% when you go to a dentist contracted with your insurance. I trusted this office when they said they took my dental insurance. I am disappointed with this office and they should have let me know they aren't contracted with my specific plan. Clinically, this office did a great job. read more

After the negative review I wrote on Google about my last appointment at Dr. Cynthia's practice, I thought things couldn't get any worse, but I was shocked by the unprofessional behavior I received when Dr. Cynthia called me to ask about my review. I explained to her that I didn't want to have X-rays taken of my teeth, as I had just had a full check-up at my family dentist back home, and my appointment at her office was just for a dental cleaning, so I was surprised by the charges. She made an inappropriate comment, saying that I didn't understand how things worked in the US because I wasn't from here, and that she could relate because she was Italian. After living in this country for eight years, I was deeply upset by that comment. It's disheartening to have an experience like that, especially with someone I respected. If you enjoy having to wait for 3 months for a routine cavity filling following your cleaning than this is definitely your dentist. Obviously a byproduct of too many patients. And don't even think of rescheduling an appointment. I found Dr. Brattesani by word of mouth. My first appointment with her was after skipping the dentist for close to a decade. She was nonjudgmental and focused on the positives of my dental health rather than lecturing me. She is extremely professional, efficient, empathetic, organized and knowledgeable about latest technology and clinical practices. The staff who work with her, from reception to dental hygienist, are ALL friendly, welcoming and helpful. Even though they only see me once or twice a year and for occasional emergencies, they ALWAYS greet me by name, ask about my spouse and children and genuinely show an interest in me as a person. I never thought I'd say this about going to the dentist, but Dr. Brattesani, and, more recently Dr. Shin Robin, along with all of the staff really make it a positive experience. One Saturday around Christmas, one of the crowns broke and fell off my front tooth (not a crown that Dr. Cynthia did). Within an hour, I was in the chair having it repaired. More recently, one of my molars broke. It was a big break caused by the constant pounding and grinding onto an old fashioned mercury filling. Within 24 hours, I was in the chair again having a crown placed by Dr. Brattesani's incredible associate, Dr. Jung Shin Robin. Dr. Shin Robin did a same day crown for me in the midst of a tight schedule. The crown is perfect... truly a work of art and she did it with absolutely NO PAIN whatsoever. My Hygienist, Linda Lieu, is the best. She's sweet, funny, fast and very informative. She, too, focused on the positive despite me missing my last appointment. One of the best dentists in the United States without a doubt. The staff is great and Cynthia Brattessani is ALWAYS learning and improving. Recently she started doing sleep studies and works with a lab to make absolutely fantastic mouth devices to stop sleep apnea. Dr. Brattessani is skilled in all levels of dentistry and now she just helped me solve the fact that I have been sleeping terribly for years. Dr. Brattessani is from San Francisco and knows the best of the best oral surgeons, pediatric dentists, ENT doctors and more. My husband got a mouth piece for sleep apnea at another dentist's office because he did not know Cynthia could do it as well. Many of the studies are showing that mouth pieces for sleep apnea are better than a CPAP machine because people will use a mouth piece . My husband just came with me to the office of Dr. Brattessani to pick up my mouth piece and he is so sad he did not get his from Dr. Brattessani. My mouth piece for sleep apnea is fantastic. Also Cything Brattesanni did a scan of my face and could see I had collapsed cartilage in my nose that meant I was not breathing well. She sent me to Dr. Vanessa Erickson ENT who confirmed the situation and I was able to get an easy procedure to fix the collapsed cartilage that caused me to breathe through my nose. I am beyond thankful for the expertise of Dr Brattessani and her staff. My husband is TERRIFIED of going to the dentist and loves the entire staff and team at Cynthia Brattesanni DDS. Today I just had the great fortune of receiving a truly Zen dental experience with Jung H. Shin Robin, D.D.S. After receiving a green, reduced radiation x-ray, I 'enjoyed' a deftly executed and masterful cleaning by Dr. Jung and her team. This practice rocks! 15 months back, my mouth was a mess; lost filling, chipped tooth, temperature sensitivity, sore gums, you name it. My dentist was NOT getting it done. I found Brattesani on Yelp, called and explained my situation. I told them I was looking for "the Bomb" dentist and the receptionist gal confidently responded that they were the bomb. 15 months later and lots of visits, they are all that and more! I've been working with Dr Shin Robin. She is super informative, explains in detail what's going on and a course of action, she's also super friendly and sweet. Her support staff has been great as well. My mouth feels great! No more mouthache, sore gums, temperature sensitivity, etc. I've referred my wife, who see's Brattesani and loves her as well as a few friends, who have all had positivie experiences. I just had my first appointment with Cynthia. I would give 9/2 stars but I'm constrained to whole steps here. That being said 4 stars is an excellent rating for a business that is essentially a proprietor of pain and unhappiness. I have really sensitive teeth, receding gumlines, and cavities (yes, I have a girlfriend) so going to the dentist is a major bummer for me. As far as dentist appointments go this was *a lot* less painful than any of the other dentist visits I've had in the last 5 years, which is 2. Yeah, I have to chime in too. Cynthia is the BEST. I have gone to her for almost 10 years and have always found her and her staff extremely professional. They do a good job communicating appointments (now with email notification which I love) as well as working with you when your insurance may not cover all the work you need to have done. Additionally, Cynthia referred me to two specialists, both of whom were excellent and professional. When Cynthia left the practice she shared with her brother, I didn't hesitate to go with her. I also want to give a shout out for Debbie (go Debbie!) and Maritza (spelled wrong, but go Maritza!) because they also play a big role in making my experience there the best. And what else can I say? Really? I haven't reviewed Dr. Cynthia? I've been seeing Dr. Cynthia since 2005, the courtesy of my friend and co-worker, Stan, who referred me to the best dentist ever*. My mouth was a mess. Start with bad tooth / gum genes, add years of neglect (and maybe some abuse) and I had a mouth that needed help. Dr. Cynthia and her awesome team stepped in and helped reverse severe gingivitis-y issues while never making me feel judged along my quest for better dental health as I slowly made progress. I recently had the opportunity to visit her local competition - a practice that touted their green, technologically-advanced ways. They had cool toys and gadgets, and I got decent care for the service that I purchased from them. The absolute, biggest difference between that practice and this one is the way Dr. Cynthia treats her patients. She is conservative in her dentistry, meaning she will not pull out the digital camera and scare you with the picture of a cavity that is blown up 200 times on the screen and tell you you have to have it and ten other cavities fixed immediately. She tells you what's what and what you must do to save your smile. You can ask her for referrals and professional advice (I asked about Invisalign, which got me a referral to a very qualified professional and I chose to go elsewhere - but that's another post), but she will never push something on you that you do not need. When you need a filling, and sometimes you do, Dr. Cynthia makes sure you're comfortable and well taken care of. I went today for one that I was super scared about - on a front tooth, for goodness sake. It was painless, quick and the end result looks great. All of that worrying for nothing (thanks to scary pictures of cavities blown up 200 times on a screen above you at a different dental office). Dr. Cynthia is a good person and a professional dentist who cares about her patients, not how much they're worth. Cynthia is the best dentist I've ever been to--friendly, competent, gentle, and fast. And Debbie must be the best hygienist in the universe. She doesn't make my gums bleed, and (it's going to sound strange) she puts hand lotion on my hands and then encases them in microwaved mitts. I have been going to Dr. Cynthia Brattesani for a few years. I have found Dr. Cynthia to be very professional and a knowledgeable, trustworthy practictioner. My rating is based on 3 stars for the staff, and the fourth star is for the location and decor of the office. It is true the view is better than most dental offices and I enjoy the illuminations of Tuscan villas in the ceiling when you are lying back in the dentist chair. I really like the email appointment reminder and confirmation - so convenient! I did not like the previous hygienist (Maria, I think?!); although she was a great technician, she whined about the effort she had to put into my teeth, which is ridiculous, since it's her job! Luckily I got someone else for my last visit who was much more personable. I was perfectly understanding of the fact that the office had to cancel my appointment because doctor was sick. However, I gave them a date for which I would be available and, they said they'd get back to me and let me know if they could fit me in. After two full days of not hearing back from them, I called back to see what the deal was. Debbie is about the best oral hygenist in the world and Dr. Brattesani is clearly a wonderful dentist. Fortunately for me, my visits with Dr. Brattesani have been limited (which means I haven't had any major dental issues). Most of my time at the office is spent with Debbie. She takes her time, explains everything, has a very cheery demeanor and will wrap your hands in a spa-like treatment if you wish. Now, I wouldn't go as far as saying a visit to the dentist is at the very top of my list, but every trip to Cynthia Brattensani's office has been, dare I say... enjoyable? I have never waited more than five minutes in the waiting room (they truly do run on-time), and despite having a few unpleasant (root scaling) procedures done, they were actually painless and I wasn't anxious or apprehensive about going back for follow-up visits. just plain crazy, this is the second review that i have written of a dentist-not the sort of thing that i would think that i would yelp about, but when you really love something, you yelp, right? i have only visited once, but i have already reccommended dr. cynthia brattesani to 2 people. if you're looking for an aggressive dentist, someone who wants to do everything possible, then this is not your dentist. i have lots of old fillings and her reaction was basically "let's assume that you're going to live to 100, they will need to come out sometime, but how many times do we want to pull/drill/refill?" (or something like that). she wants to redoone which is coming out, which would let bacteria in. my beloved previous dentist had moved to new york (the nerve)i had tried another dentist who said that i had pocketing and needed to get all of my old fillings redone (mercury and all). here they said i had no problems with ;pocketing and wanted to redo one filling. if you want someone who takes good, cautious care of your teeth and your mouth, who explains everything and gives you options, then this is your dentist. if you love dental work, and want to have lots of stuff scraped and drilled, then go somewherre else. read more

I love love love Dr. Cynthia and her staff. They are so much fun, meticulous in their cleaning, and always there to help. I had a severe pain in my jaw a couple of weeks ago and the squeezed me in the next day for a quick appt, got me hooked up with a sweet nite guard and I was ready to go. Their office is AMAZING - they have terrific views of the bay and serene pics of Italian scenery on the ceilings to focus on. Dr. Cynthia was recommended to me by a coworker - her parents go there - now a ton of people in my office go to her. She has late appts on Monday which come in very handy. read more

Makes you feel comfortable if you are uncomfortable with dentist in general. She is Very thorough and doesn't make you go through procedures that you dont need. Makes you aware of what needs to be done immediately or overtime if you cannot afford it. She works with you to gradually bring your teeth to health if you cannot afford it all at the same time and if it doesn't need to be urgently fixed. I don't understand what everyone is talking about: are these planted or automated reviews to praise an average office? I wanted first to see Dr Bratesani but they somehow dumped me on another rookie dentist that just started and was kinda wishy washy. The staff seemed disinterested in general or jaded at best except when it comes to selling treatment, of course! Looks like they accept a lot of coupons too which is usually a sign of being pretty desperate(for restaurants and worse, for healthcare people!). Yikes! Love everything about this dentist office. They are the absolute best. I used to avoid the dentist at all costs. I would go only as often as I absolutely had to. Now I go every 3-6 months and my teeth are in the best health they've ever been. The receptionist is responsive, super sweet, always flexible and accommodating to my schedule. The x-ray girl is the only person who I've ever had that makes that experience easy and not super uncomfortable. The dental hygienist is super gentle, fast, and thorough. Dr. Brattesani...THE BEST!
