It's ridiculous how much cheaper gas is in Nevada than it is in California. Even the tax structure is unfair since EVs use our roads but only gas powered cars are expected to pay for maintenance of roads and freeways. Anyway, I try to keep my tank a bit lower on the way in to Vegas so I can fill it in Nevada. Waiting until the store is closed is definitely the way to save time and headaches since the lines are so much shorter and the gas stations are open for a few hours after closing. Since Costco has workers outside, there is much less chance of getting ripped off by people putting card skimmers on pumps or criminals trying to pull their usual shenanigans like they do at other gas stations. With prices entering the stratosphere with this unending war with Iran, we are fortunate to have an option like Costco to help us maintain our sanity.

Afternoon crew is RUDE though. I came in after work today (around 3:30) and both the cashiers were unprofessional. The guy was just sitting at the register so I smiled and said "hello" and brought my 2 items. He looks at me with a blank stare and asks "are you with them?" Gesturing to this woman with a bunch of children running around the entire place. They were grabbing stuff, not even ready to check out yet. I said no and backed up, I was annoyed but it wasn't a super big deal. Like 3 minutes go by and nothings happening. I checked my phone for no more than 30 seconds and now some girl behind the counter is like "HELLOOO?!" I look up and suddenly another register is open. I smile at the new cashier and say hello, she rolls her eyes and ignores me. After the transaction I said thank you and goodbye and this woman continued to act like my existence is bothering her. This type of behavior is unprofessional and unnecessary, even for a gas station.

Below are the reasons why and the pros and cons of this store. The Cons: 1. Long Checkout Lines: they never have all of the regular checkout lines open and available with staff available to checkout customers. 2. Long Self Checkout Lines: The self checkout lines are always long especially the first line when you walk inside in the front of the store. The line goes all the way to the back of the store and covers the entire aisle everyday. 3. Outdated and Marked Down Deli and Meat Products: Everyday especially in the morning, there are so many items in the Deli and Meat section that end up being marked down. I wouldn't trust the freshness of these products at all. 4. High Theft and Shoplifting: People steal products from the store constantly. Someone always runs out of the Emergency Exit next to the pharmacy on a daily basis. 5. Long Money Service Line: The line is always long and runs slow all of the time. 6. A Very Busy Pharmacy: This pharmacy is always nonstop busy. There's a hospital nearby, most of the customers do not speak English and do not have insurance. The Pros: Honestly I do not see any pros shopping at this store. My sympathies for the people who live in the neighborhood because there are not a lot of options as far as stores and restaurants to go to compared to other areas in town such as Centennial, Henderson, and Summerlin.
