I used to go to Discount Tire exclusively but the last few times I went there, they were only interested in selling me on their most expensive tires that I didn't even need. Not to mention they never even had my size in stock for any tire. I got fed up and found Tire Mart. Not only did they have what size I needed, but they always had different brands of tires in stock. I went with some Crossmax tires a couple years ago and happy to say they're still holding up very well. Best of all, it was about $200 cheaper for all four than Discunt Tire was for two of their cheapest tire that weren't even in stock. Fast forward, I bought some wheels for my car and of course Discunt Tire was trying to upsell me on their ugly wheels instead of mounting the ones I already bought. Also trying to sell me on tires that were absolutely not needed and quoted me $2600 in total for everything. I went back to Tire Mart, and they installed my existing tires onto my new rims and mounted them on the car for only $160. Took less than two hours also vs probably taking all day at the other place. Customer service is always great here, prices are definitely fair, service itself is pretty quick. I'm doing some more work to my car soon and will use Tire Mart for their services. They offer many different financing options as well. I have recommended them to all of my friends and family and will continue to do business with them myself. I live on the southwest side of Vegas and the drive to Tire Mart on Losee is worth it.

I'm almost embarrassed to write this review after the bonehead error I made. I wanted to visit an…read morehistorical site about 25 miles from Las Vegas. When I arrived, I saw that the Union Pacific Railroad had fenced and locked the gate to the road you used to use to get to the spot. Just after the fence was a dirt road leading to where I wanted to go. I went off road, realized the ground was soft, but I was able to get up 2/3 of the hill before my car wouldn't go any further. It was like being in the snow back in New York. I backed down the hill expecting to just drive away and foprget this outking. However, that idea was abandoned when my car got stuck in very soft and deep desert sand and some dead creosote bushes had stopped by backward progress. Here I am, stuck about 5 miles from a truck stop and I had no water (some desert rat I am)! After wondering what to do, I finally called the non=-emergency 311 number. I explained by predicament and asked if they could advise me what to do. This was the North Las Vegas police department. They decided it would be best to talk top Las Vegas Metro Police and they transferred me. Metro decided it was best to transfer the call to the Nevada Highway Patrol given I was in them middle of nowhere. After talking to NHP for a short ime, the call was cut off. Using Yelp, I eventually got connected with a towing service out of North Las Vegas (Elite Towing). They knew my general location and what I needed. In about 3/4 of an hour, I saw the flatbed arrive. I was going to be extricated from the mess I had gotten myself in. The driver came over and started up the hill and would pull the front out. When he realized the softness of the sand, he backed down and decided to pull the car from the back end. He attached the winch cables and I was told to turn the wheel when the car was leaving the sand and getting onto the packed gravel road, and it worked just fine! I was free. The driver, a very pleasant young man, disconnected the cables and I was free to go. I made no attempts to get to the site. I had learned my lesson. After a quick turn around, I was headed back to Las Vegas. Many thanks to Elite Towing for their response which was timely given where I was. I also decided that I'd rent a four wheel drive when I go back. (some people never learn)! I knew I shouldn't have traded my 4x4 xTerra. But I lknow if I'm in range where I can get help, Elite will be there to rescue the jerk who got himself stuck in the desert.

July 22 , 2025 I bought a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser 4x4 from Ryan. I had seen it online a few days…read morebefore with a couple others in town. It was all around a better price for the year and mileage. One was at a Toyota Dealership here in Vegas and it was a 2 Wheel Drive with more miles and older for $7,000 more ! When I talked to Ryan on the phone he said he was going to take it to the auction the next day if I didn't buy it because he had it for a while. Hard to believe no one had bought it since the Toyota FJ has a cult following and keeps its value more than almost any vehicle on the road. They easily sell for $25,000. I got mine for $17,500. I checked it out thoroughly and test drove it and everything was in great shape. No tears in the interior , normal wear and tear for the body , etc. I did a Car Fax on it and what he told me about it coming from Florida was there. Also no accidents and regular maintenance. It was originally purchased in Utah , so it made its way back to the West. I recently took it into a shop to have it completely gone through to make sure it was ready for my move to Oklahoma in a few months for my early retirement. The shop said everything was good and had some new parts. I did need to replace the 2 lower ball joints in the front and one of the control arms would need to be replaced in the future , so I had the shop just go ahead and do both control arms and the upper and lower ball joints since they were going to be working on the front suspension and I plan on keeping this a long time. My present car , 2004 Ford Crown Vic P71 , I've had for 10 years now and bought at the LVMPD Police Auction. I've taken care of it and unfortunately will have to sell it since I'm moving. I bought the FJ to have 4 Wheel Drive in Oklahoma due to snow in the winter and to carry items in it to move and it has a tow hitch on the back as well as a roof rack. I was looking for a 4Runner 4x4 , but this was a better deal than any 4Runner I could find and I've been looking for a while. I always liked the FJ Cruiser and never thought I would find one at a reasonable price and in great condition. It is fun to drive and everyone at work says it fits me. I had an old Convertible Blazer years ago that they still talk about. It's nice to be back with a vintage SUV.
