Daniel Sr. and his son Daniel, were at my house within two days of my initial phone contact to evaluate the job. They provided me a proposal within days. I subsequently enlarged the scope of the project, and they made several more visits over the next two weeks. The project consisted of two stamped concrete patios, two stamped concrete aprons, a stamped concrete walkway, 135' of fence footing, and one propane tank pad. Once finalized a start date was scheduled. Though there was a slight delay, they kept me apprised of the situation, and the work commenced as rescheduled. I was particularly impressed with their work as they formed the pour. It's that time when a trade skill and art meet. For example, the two Daniels formed and reformed a walkway ramp with stairs several times over the course of a day before they were satisfied, transforming the mundane to aesthetically pleasing. They were attentive to my concerns regarding drainage and slope, and provided suggestions as work proceeded. At all times during the project, they sought approval as various forms were set in the yard. The core crew are all family members which I believe instills pride in their work. The stamped concrete came out great, and they returned after a month and some sunshine to seal the concrete. In addition to the quality work it was gratifying to do business with a local business.

He arrived promptly and exposed the dry rot in the areas of concern, developed a material list, and said I'll see you in the morning (on a Saturday). After about 6 hours of his craftsmanship, the identified areas of concern were repaired better than new. Due to his prompt response, the sale didn't fall apart. It is the difference between night and day how acessable and pleasant my driveway has become after this company came through with their awesome machinery to revitalize my driveway. Before I had upgraded this, I was spending a couple 100+ hours per year shoveling out by hand all my gutters and culverts and filling in low spots and scraping out high spots in the road. It was backbreaking to say the least and I'm a young strong guy mostly. Anyhow they sloped my driveway so that water flows in the correct way to minimize water erosion and packed everything solid along this 1/2 mile stretch. The price was very reasonable. Every single company or agency I called was dumbstruck, and were either too scared to touch the job or required payment just to come out for an estimate. Not Green Earth. Rick and his Bobcat came to the rescue, excavating the dirt around it and making sure the contents didn't spill. He even hauled it away! Rick reminds me of the old-school trade guys who simply got the job done: friendly and accommodating even under duress. I hired this company because of positive feedback from others in my community, but my own…read moreexperience was very different and failed to meet professional standards. Below are some specific issues I encountered during our project. 1. Lack of Management Although they advertise "turnkey" services, there was no project management. My husband had to step in and manage the workers himself, which caused major disruptions to our jobs and childcare. Much later in the project it turned out that the owner, Kate, was moving to LA during our project and was not available to supervise. 2. Poor Quality and Broken Promises The work did not match what we agreed upon. For example, they used a "touch-up" system for painting where I was supposed to mark mistakes with stickers. However, the next sub contractor hired by company informed me that those spots couldn't be fixed without repainting the entire wall. In the end, we were left with both the original marks and new stains from the stickers. 3. Unsupervised Subcontractors The company uses outside contractors who are given access to your home without supervision from Parrotones. This led to several problems: Our dog escaped twice while workers were in the house. Paint/chemicals were poured onto the plants, killing them. 4. Major Delays Because of constant mistakes that had to be fixed, the project took much longer than promised. We were supposed to finish on February 22, but the work was still not done by March 13. This meant living in a messy, unfinished house for weeks longer than expected. 5. Issues with the Staircase and Legal Agreement The paint on the staircase railings began to peel off completely because the surface wasn't sanded properly. Following a formal notice of intent to pursue legal action, the company agreed in writing to fix the stairs and provide financial compensation. While they did come back to fix the stairs, as of this report the agreed-upon compensation was never paid. Takeaways: Do not pay invoices in full until the work is 100% finished. The company's marketing does not reflect the actual quality of their work.

I sent an inquiry and within just a few hours Kate came over to discuss the details in person. The project was completed exactly within the agreed timeframe. Everything was done very carefully: all surfaces were properly covered and protected from paint, and the team cleaned up thoroughly after the work was done. During the process, we decided to increase the scope of the project, and the team was very flexible and accommodating. Communication was excellent throughout. The team was always responsive, easy to reach, and very understanding of our situation. They also left us a touch-up kit and promised support for up to a year, which we really appreciate. We would happily recommend Kate and the Parrotones team and will absolutely work with them again for any future renovation projects.
