I'm after having some neck and shoulder pain recently I decided to give Floating a shot to see if it would help. Also I thought this would be a good relaxing experience for my pregnant girlfriend. I am an avid runner and have found cryotherapy very beneficial for recovery. I had previously gone to a cryo practice in Marin. I was very happy with how I felt after the treatment and even better the next morning. I decided to give reboot a try since it was much closer to my home. The facility in the mission is very nice. Clean, attractive, well-equipped. That said, my treatment was not effective. They called the treatment that I had a full body treatment, but had me wear thick socks that covered by lower leg, calf, and knee. These are all areas that I would have liked treatment. The treatment seemed to provide zero benefit to my sore calf muscles and limited benefit to my lower back. The staff suggested that I get the full body treatment and targeted treatment (thus costing double). I'll be driving to Marin or trying another SF practice. read more

I have floated in other cities and was waiting for this to open in my neighborhood. I walked by it regularly for months hoping it would open (felt like it would take forever!). Serendipitously it opened around the same time I was laid off and unemployed with lots of free time on my hands. Thanks, universe! During my few months of unemployment I went here to float every couple weeks. It's my second favorite place, in the world, to float, since it's easy for me to get to, it's quiet and minimalist, pink and purple like virgin america airplanes, the showers have rainforest showerheads (aaaahhhhh!!!), the colors in the pod are easy to set, the pods have different options for headrest/neck support, the pod room is always ready at my reserved time (no waiting), the staff is friendly and not chatty chatty (I don't want to manage small talk when I'm there to zen out), and there is lotion in the pod room to make it easy to slather all over your body when you're done with your float. I like how floating relaxes my mind, eases the stress in my shoulders and neck and glutes, and results in me feeling like I'm floating in outer space looking at the planets. It's like a drug trip without the drugs. My favorite place, in the world, to float, has larger pod rooms with larger shower stall, options for 60 min or 90 min, more toiletries and a mirror in the individual pod rooms (so you can get yourself back to looking like normal self in privacy of a room and not subject other people to your wild untamed self), and choices of music (not just music on/off). read more

Nice facility though not great at hospitality. My session was almost 15 mins late! However the facility is well maintained and clean so you won't mind getting into floats. The system also started cleaning immediately after I left so guess they are doing a good job. Great facility. Enjoyed the full body chamber experience for cryo. I've done cryo a few times in DC which makes me start almost seizing with uncontrollable shivers. In this case -222 was the lowest it went. No seizing. Almost wish it went a tad lower or the length of time was more than 3 minutes. Angelique (my "cryotherapist"?) was very nice and helpful. Super efficient. Will come back as often as I can; glad there's finally one of these in the mission. read more

comparison// location is a lot bigger than marina, as well as the pods. first 10 mins i really thought i was going to drown cause i felt like there's so much space and nothing to hold on to. water temperature felt colder, could actually feel the salt texture on my body. grainy. no music in the beginning throughout. light doesn't come on when it's about to finish but they do end up playing music to let you know session is over. room space, i like marina better. location wise, i prefer marina just because area is quiet and peaceful. due to the fact that i see more people outside, more cars, felt like it did affect me. i don't know why. this place is more out there. glass windows and bright. i prefer hidden space. overall, it doesn't matter which location you go to-- you will leave REBOOT much more relaxed. read more

I am new to float therapy and have enjoyed my couple times experiencing it. I recently joined a float spa monthly membership program while I was visiting a location in Roseville California,. They let me know that there were multiple locations in the bay area in San Francisco where I spend half of my time. I coincidentally made the mistake of calling the wrong float spa and spoke to a nice gentleman on the phone when inquiring about my membership and potentially booking a appointment at the Mission district location. He struggled to find my name or information in his system then said he would just put it in manually to book my appointment and I can handle the membership stuff when I arrive. I am now clear that I had made a mistake about calling the wrong float location. Although I do wish the man on the phone I tried harder to locate me or use the information I had given him about my membership to confirm I was not a member at this location, I do Think he was at least polite and made an honest mistake just as I had. The receptionist that was there upon my check in in the evening was anything but pleasant or welcoming or warm. No initial hellos or how are yous and a very cold demeanor. She checked me in by my first name I did the float and when I return to the front she promptly asked for payment, at which point I again told her I don't understand why they didn't have my credit card information in the system. And that I had explained this to the gentleman on the phone earlier in regards to my once a month float membership that I had signed up for in Roseville California at a float spa. She looked for my information again told me I wasn't a member and could've cared less about trying to find some revolution or being in anyway sympathetic to the situation. She simply said well because it's my first time at their location they'll charge me the $65 introductory rate , then asked me again for my credit card with zero apologies about the confusion. Her demeanor was frankly A major turn off and doesn't belong in a spa setting in any way shape or form. The float was relaxing the situation and attitude definitely took away from the relaxation after the fact. And I also do think this location needs to work on their cleanliness in the restrooms and wiping of hair in the pod rooms. This review definitely wouldn't have been written had the situation been handled more warmly and professionally. I was not looking for a free float ! read more

WOW, Reboot is a serene haven tucked right into the hustle and bustle of the city! The space is beautiful and futuristic with glowing lights and little terrariums sprinkled throughout. I felt instantly at home and the staff was so welcoming and personable. I had my first cryo facial administered by Anya. She made me feel very relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire experience, and she made sure to focus on the areas I mentioned. Next I jumped in the sauna for a half hour. I could feel a cold coming on and also had some achy muscles from an intense workout a few days prior. The sauna was reserved just for me so I had complete privacy and I felt so much better afterward! My muscles felt relaxed and my congestion had toned down considerably. I have now been to Reboot for multiple services and I have decided to write this review because they never disappoint! If you are looking for a place to relax and get some self care services, this is definitely the place to go. My favorite was tshock for my face, it's a service that helps with aging, tightening and rejuvenation. Franklin performed my tshock and he was so gentle and had such a calming voice, he always makes sure I am comfortable and does an awesome job, I def recommend him if you need a tshock! If you need some self-care def come here and although it is a bit pricey, it's so worth it, you won't regret it as I never have. read more

Been coming here for the last year, and cant really say anything bad about it. Staff is always very cheerful and upbeat, which always sets me in a great mood to start. Being able to have the Sauna all to yourself is amazing. No more hoping for seats or extra loud conversations at the gym sauna for me. Trust me when I say, Floating gets easier every time. This review is for the Fire & Ice service only ( I can't comment on their other services). If you're a regular sauna user I would avoid using the infra-red versions at Reboot. The staff at both the Valencia and Lombard locations have been pretty solid for the most part except when I aired my grievance about the low temperature of the saunas ( no real complaints with the staff, they're just doing their job). If you're used to a regular sauna's temperature be prepared to be very underwhelmed by the infra-red version at Reboot. These saunas are designed for people with extreme sensitivity to heat. The sessions are about 45 minutes long, and it took 30 minutes to break a sweat. If you decide to do a cold plunge - its a complete reset and you won't break a sweat again. They say the rooms have a max temperature of 150 degrees, but at both locations they capped out at 146 and even dipped to 144 without opening the door. Most saunas I've been to hover closer to 170/180 at least. Their justification is that infra-red works differently than regular sauna. This is true - it is much much weaker. If you're trying to sweat this aint the place. It seems like they have good reviews for the cryo therapy, but I would avoid the sauna services completely. 2 stars for the relatively friendly staff and the relaxing atmosphere in the rooms. read more

This was my float, and I had a very good experience from the scheduling (I needed to change my appointment time, and the staff was very responsive and accommodating), the informational video was helpful in order to prepare me for my float and the staff was very attentive kind and informative upon my visit to walk me through my first float experience. You can tell that the staff here is hired with an eye for people that are warm and engaging and being in the mission, this is something that usually is sorely lacking with customer service in the city, so it was much appreciated! Coming to this place is such a soothing experience. I love going to the sauna as a self-care routine to reduce stress or as a celebration/treat. I've also had lovely experiences floating, plunging into a deep peace with minimal sensory perception. It's fun to take friends to the float chamber because it's something very San Francisco that most people I know hae never experienced. The facilities are clean and most importantly, the staff is great. Besides the spa experience, there's a feeling of community among the team members. I let go and just went with it and I fell asleep. I do wish they would leave the music on during your session. I heard the sirenas but I was in deep meditation to care what was happening outside. Very clean, you must take off your shoes on arrival and they supply flip flops. They have all the essentials for after your float, but next time I know what to bring with me. Serene experience. I bought a Father's Day special package and finally got to use it! Cryo, sauna and float for around $92. First time for Cryo and float. I had a great experience at Reboot. The employees were knowledgeable, super kind and helpful with any questions I had. The Cryo went faster than I expected but was super cold and intense for the last minute. I've been in another infared sauna that seemed to be higher in temperature but I actually preferred Reboot's. The float was an interesting experience and took me a while to settle into. My neck was hurting so I used the neck pillow they had and it worked great. Definitely went through some moments of feeling claustrophobic and freaked out but I was able to settle in and eventually fell asleep. I could definitely see how it could be powerful for meditations and relaxation. I can't speak to how effective all these things are but it was fun to try!! With that said they are pretty expensive so I don't know if I'd purchase more sessions in the future or wait til another special comes around. read more

So far, I have tried the Float Therapy and Compression Boots. I am very with my float therapy sessions. I have felt very calm and happy after each session. The first time was a little strange sitting in the pod and trying to think peacefully, but after the next time it felt a little easier. I am a teacher, and float therapy really brought me at ease, when I really needed it. And I am not really an athlete, but I had some bad ankle pains, and the Compression Boots relieved me from a lot ot that pain. I imagine it does wonders for athletes. I know Steph Curry has done Compression boots, so hey athletes give it a try. Whoever you are, I recommend float therapy for anyone and everyone. read more

My girlfriend and I have been wanting to do a float for a while and we happened to get a last minute reservation on a Friday night! As soon as we walked in it was a different vibe from the get go. Each person gets their own room, float chamber and shower. I work as a driver, graphic designer and manage to perform on the soccer field year round so this experience I don't think I can explain fully. You get these ear plugs so that noise and water are canceled. There's an option to plug in your phone too for some relaxing music as well. Anyways, I enter the chamber and as soon as I went in I felt strangely relaxed. You immediately float (don't panic). Once I was ready I turned off the light inside and closed my eyes. Your mind escapes reality literally ! I fell asleep for a while and when I woke up I thought I was still asleep because of how relaxed I was. When the time was over I opened the pod and this is where my mind was in its own world, my heart rate was very at ease, no anxiety, no stress, my voice was so calm as well, wasn't thinking about anything and lastly my back pain had vanished. I escaped the everyday routine of physical emotional and mental strain on my body. The shower after was unique as well !! If you work a bunch and work hard or just want to escape the noises to zone out and think about the things that matter then REBOOT!! They didn't have any shirts available for sale that night :/ but their design was superb as I design and collect shirts. read more

I had a great first float experience here! 1. Staff was super friendly and attentive 2. This place is CLEAN and organized, anything you would need is easy to find 3. Their shower products were awesome! The conditioner worked so well for my thick, dry hair 4. The pod itself was huge. They also provide neck floaty's if you need the extra support. Recommendations: Don't shave before coming here, the salt in the water will burn you! Lol If your goal is to relax in the pod it would be best if you're a little on the tired side. (I took a nap before my session so I used most of my time practicing my synchronized swimming) After my session I came out with my body feeling super relaxed, I was even able to get a good nights sleep for once. I always have a pleasant experience at Reboot. The more I float, the more I like it. The relaxation is unbelievable and the tea after really puts the cherry on top. Loved the experience of relaxing in the pod! I had initially been hesitant about trying floating because I wasn't sure what to expect. I finally tried it out and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. I felt relaxed and at peace the entire time and can't wait to go back again! The facility was super clean, which is very important to me, and they provide guests with lots of great amenities. Each float room has it's own shower, there is a vanity in the hallway to freshen up after your appointment, and there is a lounge behind the front to relax in before and after your session. This spa is absolutely beautiful and state-of-the-art. It's almost hard to believe you're on busy Valencia street, because as soon as you go inside, it's like an oasis in the city. The facilities are super clean, the staff is incredibly helpful, and the overall vibe is super chill and inviting. I personally LOVE all three treatments (floating, sauna & cryo), and if you ever have a day off, I highly recommend doing all three back to back. I was nervous about cryo at first, because I hate being cold, but you definitely get used to it. Now I love it, and actually look forward to stepping in the machine.
