I was gifted a float and this was my first one so I didnt know what to expect. I was greeted when I walked in. You sign a waiver. You cannot enter with outside shoes so you can do socks or bearfoot or they provide sandals. I started off by having tea. I was shown my room and all the do 's and don'ts. I love that it is personal rooms. You take a shower before and after. I was nervous at first but ended up falling asleep the ear bud did move so I did get water in my ear and a little in my eye. The salt water is really strong but they do provide water and a towel if this happens. I did sleep really good the next couple of nights. I think I'd have to give them another try. It wouldve been nice for a check in about it after the service but overall great. read more

I went to the Oakland location for the first time and had the pleasure of Isaac helping me with the treatment. He was kind, sweet, and gentle. I got the local cryo therapy treatment and it worked wonders. Felt similarly to having an ice pack on but times ten. He treated my affected areas of inflammation like my back and my sciatic area. I heard about Flotation Tanks years ago when I lived in LA and never got the chance to try it then. When I discovered this spot, and they were having discounted rates, I was like - now is the time. Well, so glad I did. It's a new relaxing experience and takes me back to floating in the Dead Sea, but in warm salt water in your own private pod, with music of your choice playing and changing color therapy lights inside. Venue is clean and relaxing, while staff are friendly and helpful. For the Flotation experience, I reserved online via their website, one of the rooms for my 1 hour session. I recommend arriving 5 to 10 minutes early so you can settle and make yourself a cup of tea or drink water at the reception. You then have about 5+ minutes in your private room to shower and put in clean/new waterproof ear plugs (which they supply). They provide a towel and bathrobe. Then when you enter your pod (recommended nude or with a swimsuit), there's a couple of foam head/neck floating panels you can use to keep your head above water. The lid can be completely closed (recommended) or kept slightly ajar from time to time for some cool air to enter, or even kept open if you want to alternate between floating and sitting. Since the salt content is so high and the water bouyant, it's easy to float immediately by just laying back and lifting your legs. There's a computerized voice announcement in the pod about 3 minutes before your session time is up, so you can exit the pod before it starts to autoclean itself. You then shower in your room and then use their common area vanity cubicle down the hall (has sink, mirror, seat, hairdryer and other light toiletries) You can also sign up for pre-paid monthly membership here for lower costs on their services at this location or other sister locations too. Being both a long time floater and a big fan of hot/cold treatment, I searched and found Reboot on moving here from Boston. Very convenient location in Rockridge, relatively easy to park, and the facility is clean and very well run. Without being showy, Reboot promotes a quiet, chill atmosphere in the waiting space, and having the IR sauna and cold plunge in the same room is maximally efficient. The float pods are very user friendly and spacious. A self-directed experience is promoted, although I have observed that Reboot takes very good care of the uninitiated. Reboot integrates experiences that I've only experienced somewhat more piecemeal in the past, for which I am grateful. read more

When I arrived, the attendant kindly let me know that I wasn't on the appointment book due to an issue with their system. The Cryo whole body machine I was planning to use wasn't ready yet, but that was no problem at all. I took my time getting ready and waited patiently until it was ready. After my session, the friendly attendant informed me that my room to change was prepared. I wasn't offered any tea or refreshments, but I noticed the woman before me was sitting in the lounge, and I wasn't sure if she was also having tea. When I checked out, I was told my session would be billed at the full price, which was fine with me. I was also asked if I was okay with that, and I agreed. However, I didn't receive an explanation about how, with a little extra, I could have combined two more sessions for a better deal. Overall, the customer service was friendly, but it didn't quite match what was advertised on the website. The staff was very nice and explained that they had a pretty busy morning. Despite that, I've been here before and plan to come back again. I hope they have a better day ahead, and I look forward to a smoother experience next time. I'm sorry that it took so long to write this. I absolutely loved my experience here and felt very well taken care of. I came for an Elite event and got the Boot service. I was nervous because these boots were long and zipped up to my thighs, my previous experience was with boots that covered my shins. I got a half hour and it was wonderful. The only issue was that I'm tall and the pillow in back of me was so low that it didn't allow me to comfortably lay back. I'd probably bring a neck pillow in the future. It was very relaxing which was a plus since I left my earphones at home. But the time didn't torture me. There was a snafu (a late start before me) so I was offered an additional service. The infrared sauna was also a treat. They have a tiny little room and it gets hot! The only issue here is that there wasn't a shower so I didn't wear my bra upon leaving (too hard to put on). But not really an issue. I was invited to rest and enjoy some tea, but I had to get to my car and make sure I didn't have a ticket. I didn't! All of the people were nice, the space was nice and soothing. They do have a room for regulars with robes and little booties. And be forwarned, you have to take your shoes off once inside, they have little slippers, but I didn't see them and walked in my stocking feet. Again, if you have the time, please go check them out. Came here for the cryotherapy with some friends, loved the experience. The person who helped us was very informative and made the whole process simple. We were in a bit of a rush and they made sure we were in and out quick. Even though appointment was later we were able to start at an earlier time. Going to come back to try the float experience next, excited about that. Would recommend for anyone who has not tried cryo or cold plunge. TLDR: open utility razor blades left in the sauna, interrupted deprivation tanks and no one that seemed to care. First time experience at Reboot but I've been in float tanks many times in Portland. I had been excited to try this spot for quite a while now so it was extra disappointing. Upon arrival I was excited to settle in with a hot tea. No hot water was available and the gal made no effort to offer to bring me some once it was. We went into the infrared sauna first and there was a utility razor blade in the sauna. It skimmed my arm and thankfully I noticed it without it slicing me. Why would there be an open blade just sitting there inside a sauna? When I let the person working know, she was just nonchalant and "oh sorry that's weird". Ok... The most impactful and disappointing piece of this was the sensory deprivation tank experience. We booked only an hour, which is a bit more challenging to get my mind to relax as I don't have the schedule at this time of life to float more regularly. Mid way through the lights in the room turned on accompanied with some loud noises (hard to describe what exactly since I had the ear wax covering my ears submerged). This jars me and my poor nervous system fully out of my meditation experience at the worst possible time. It was very startling when sensory deprived and mid way through a float. Plus I had no idea if something was wrong or my time was actually up. The light sensors eventually go back off and I lay there for a few more moments to try and determine how long might be left and if I can get back into it but it's clear the session is ruined for me so I just get out, shower and wrap up. Then to round out my crummy experience I was sitting there relaxing with my hot tea (finally) while waiting for my guest to complete their session when she asks for my payment. She proceeds to tell me my card will be hand keyed in since their actual card reader wasn't working. This is unprofessional and it's 2025, this shouldn't be happening with card data so nonchalantly, the card I planned to use didn't even have a number on it to hand key. All staff is wonderful! When I first went and did a float, Maddy did an A1 orientation. I felt guided and was given a unique experience. Anyone can go in and learn how to make the lighting your own while in the pod. My sweet spot is the sunset orange color on static as I feel enveloped by a joyous color. I appreciate they let me shower before and after the float so my skin is appreciative of the experience. I do want to give a special shout out to the most amazing person who works there, Elisa, for being the utmost dedicated to reboot and to all who she advocates to come in. Time after time nothing here, service aside, is better than a hello and a hug from her. Weekly I do the compression boots. People are alway ls nice here but tonight Isaac was above and beyond and that's what made this experience memorable, imprinted on me. Shoutout to Isaac, the receptionist, who was very patient with all of my questions and thorough in explaining the process. Process: - Try to come 5 minutes early to use restroom, sign docs, etc. - you are taken to your individual room and asked to shower before (body wash provided) - before getting into pod you are provided ear plugs and hair caps (upon request) - the experience is about an hour long. While in the pod you can have lights on or off and choose to have complete silence our soft music. - shower again to get rid of all the salt from your body I chose complete darkness and silence. I didn't necessarily find this experience to be relaxing in the same way a massage or yoga is for me. If you're into health and wellness, I'm sure you've heard of cryotherapy, or in layman's terms, dip your whole ass body into some freezing cold ass water and "BREATHE" because it resets your nervous system. I bought a package called "Fire and Ice." It's the cold plunge and a hot sauna package and I didn't give my husband any warning. We waited in a very relaxing lounge and were led to our room. We were told to plunge first for at least a minute and then hop into the hot sauna for 20 and do the pattern for an hour. The first plunge didn't last for more than a minute, but on my second plunge, I lasted 2:13! At some point, my body just went numb. After warming back up in the sauna, I went back in for a quick dip. Afterwards, doing normal things after the appointment, I felt fresh and invigorated. With all the benefit claims, I think I'm hooked. read more

Patrons need more experiences like this where we feel met and cared about, not just walking dollar signs interfacing with corporate policies, which is the feeling I get in most places of commerce these days. A good friend told me about float therapy that she tried when she was living in Texas. With both us of recently moving back to the Bay Area we were super happy to find one close to us. I've floated four times now. This review is for my most recent experience on 2/21. But, I would give the same score for my other times as well. If you have never floated, stop what you're doing and make an appt ASAP. It's a feeling like none other. You just have to try it, at least once. To be weightless with your thoughts for an hour in silence and/or darkness (if you choose) is a truly otherworldly feeling. My first float I had music and left the tub open. Now I do music for the first 10 and last 10 minutes and I close the tub and alternate with the lights on or off. You shower before and after floating. And when you're done your body feels so relaxed. I have to add that not everyone has the same experience. For instance, my husband liked it, but he doesn't have to do it again. It felt too long for him. And one of my friends co-worker's tried it and got out after five minutes. I think you have to mentally be ready to completely let go. The main thing that prevents me from giving the place a 5 is, it could be a bit cleaner! Apparently, the salt tank cleans itself. But there's things like dark spots on the upper part of the tank, the towels have been stained, robes have been frayed. I bring my own towels and robe now. I do appreciate that it's a shoe off place! My girlfriends got me a gift card here for my birthday, and I used it to experience "the cycle:" a cryo chamber experience, infrared sauna, and soak. I LOVE soaking, but it was my first time doing the cryo chamber and the IR sauna. The cryo chamber was pretty unique. Definitely cold, but it wasn't COLD cold until the very end, when the temperature seeped into your bones lol. As for the sauna, I really enjoyed it. I took breaks every 10 minutes or so, and I also adjusted the temperature a couple degrees lower. But man, that sure felt nice! I could do it again and again. The soak was great, although the pod went into the filter mode about 5 minutes into it, so I had to go out and tell someone. But they reset it for me and I was able to enjoy my hour of relaxation. I would come back, for sure, although I have other soak locations with better parking. Give yourself some extra time to find a parking spot! read more

Beautiful space, overall. The rooms for the floats are very nice and spacious. I seem to also recall seeing a separate area where some clients can change clothing, perhaps keeps some personal items, etc. Everything seems orderly and very well run here. However, I need to make one suggestion: The idea of floating can be a bit intimidating for those who've never done it. Some may worry about claustrophobia...or what it's like to be in total darkness...whether the water and salt will indeed support their weight, etc. In addition, once you are in the room with the door closed, and inside the float tub, if you need any assistance, no one outside the room can hear you. I think they really should have a 'call' button or else something on the idea of a 'baby monitor', so that if a person needs help during a float, that someone at the front desk will be aware of this fact. I say this because, my mother did a float here for her very first time, ever, and she had some issues getting herself back out of the float pod. She was calling out, but no one could hear her. It wasn't until I myself (who was finishing up my own separate float, in another room) decided to check on my mom, and that's when we realized she was having some difficulties... read more

I've been coming since October for floats and I wish I could come more often. It's a really great space to relax and disconnect. Staff are generally pretty thorough and consistent in their service. I came once in the last year where the speaker was messed up in the pod and they offered to comp me but I declined. I like that you can book a reservation online and book for yourself and a friend. Goodbye Cryo Virginity. One of my exercise buddies always rave and talk about how great it is. Decided to take advantage of their special promotion online. Their online booking system is very simple to navigate. There's also a couple levels for their full body Cryo chamber. Temperature went as low as -230 degrees for the whole 3 minute experience. If you are scared of small spaces and don't want to experience what it's like to put yourself in a freezer for 3 minutes, I wouldn't suggest trying it. If you are still reading this, you should be excited to know that you can choose your music with their built in Spotify app. After your first time experience, be sure to ask and purchase more sessions right away. They will allow you to take advantage of another offer if that was your first time. I went ahead and bought myself a couple more sessions. The easiest 500 calories lost in 3 minutes. read more

Located on busy College Ave. so street parking may be tough to find but there is a paid parking lot next to the building. i paid $3 for an hour. I made an appointment online. They offer different experiences and packages. I came for Fire and Ice. $70 and you can bring another person to join you for $15. They have you take your shoes off at check in, leave them in a cubby, and put their flip flops on before they escort you to your room. You're also asked if you need to use the restroom which is the first door in the hallway. For Fire and Ice, it's a private room with a standing shower with body wash options fixed to the shower wall. The room has towels, robes, and a water dispenser with disposable cups. The room has an infrared sauna that can accommodate two people at 140 degrees. I don't know the degrees of the ice plunge but it's a jetted tub of cold water that is fit for one person. The room is dim. It's your own private room for an hour so circuit between sauna, shower, ice plunge naked or if you brought your own bathing suit.. There's a timer that is set in the sauna to keep track of your time left. I showered and dressed before my time was up. Walked out to the desk to check out, took off the flip flops and threw it in the used basket, put on my own shoes and left feeling refreshed and happy.. read more

I waited to write this review because things started out one way and since have improved, which can happen. I began coming to Reboot in December, my first experience wasn't as warm as I would have liked but I later learned it was just the chill vibe of each staff member. My first experience was in the Cryo chamber, I was terrified yet anxious. I started with the beginner level and let me tell you I fell in love. In January I began a 7-day cleanse, I thought it would be wonderful if I included Cryo daily. I did just that, cryo every day for 7 days and I also incorporated local cryo, leg compression, float (which I didn't enjoy, personal preference) and I ended my cleanse on the last day with fire and ice (which is my fave!!). I've even considered getting a cold plunge for my home :) It's been a few weeks since I've been to cryo but I knew who to call when my body started to act up. I went on a 6-mile incline hike the other day, silly me didn't stretch and that evening I was in so much pain, I couldn't sleep, and my back was on fire. I called Reboot and Maddie picked up, I told her what was going on and I asked if local cryo could help. I came in at 6:45 and by 7 pm I was walking out in less pain. That same night I was able to go grocery shopping and come home and pack. Can I just say I love everything about Reboot!!!! I have flooded before however my location close I decided to upgrade and come to this modern location. My friend was in town visiting and I wanted to share new experience with him. I was in room number two, the pot didn't close completely so I can see a little bit of light from the outside however that light went out 10 minutes later. The music that I had a pre-select was too loud so I turn that off right away. With ear plugs on and my ears underwater I kept hearing the cycling of the next part in the next room every couple minutes which was very disturbing, more like annoying. All in all it was a good experience I was hoping it would be a great one. If I come back I'll have to choose a room on the corner not next to other rooms. read more

I never get angry with employees or with small businesses and don't ever post bad reviews. But this is earned. After a decent sauna I headed to the spa "grooming area" where you can find all the face cream and eye drops and Cotton swabs whatever else. On the bottom shelf there's bright green mouthwash in small drinking cups. Just what I need. Swish swish. Hmm. That's really strong. Wow my mouth is on fire. Wait that's some CHEMICAL??? Spit it out walk to The front "what was that mouthwash in those cups?" "Uhhh you didn't rinse with that did you??" "Um yes. It's not mouthwash?" "No that's what we use to clean the pods. It's some swimming pool cleaner called The Blue Stuff" ?!!!!! My mouth was burning by then. We get the bottle (which by the way says "caution don't store where children can access" Its basically concentrated Phosphoric Acid. I considered calling the police at that moment. After multiple calls to poison control both doctors said I needed to go to the emergency room because phosphoric acid does extreme damage in as little as 15-30 seconds like strip the enamel off your teeth and leave a burn, similar to a radiation burn, that develops over the course of hours and days develops painful blisters and such bad swelling you can die because your tongue / throat can close up. Luckily for me I spit it out in time before swishing too long and only endured a few hours of pain in my mouth and it was better the next day... But I'm seriously wondering what the hell to do after that bananas negligence. read more
