Do not waste your time or money. As another reviewer stated. The menu is appetizing however the food is not. Tried the mole slow roasted pork Southwest Roulade. Excited to have some mole. There was none. Supposed to have New Mexican Rice. There was no rice. Ok so maybe the slow roasted pork would be good. Obviously leftovers as it wasn't 'reheated' through. Roasting wasn't complete as pork was not pull apart tender. No real seasoning to speak of. Some fasciae was still in the back of the fridge under roasted, under reheated, unseasoned, in mole dressed pork. Tried the flat bread both Black and White as well as the Cajun Mango. I will always give a place more than one chance, and with that said, I have been to Rebos four times. The first time was there with a couple of friend that talked the place up and loved the place. I was sorely disappointed. I feel that my friends were too. I say that for the fact that apologized for the food themselves. I food the wait staff that time okay and the food was not what I was wanting. The second time I order their chimichanga. It was better than my previous visit. And the service was still oaky. And the place was not that busy. I was thinking to myself that I was probably done coming here. But my friends in town love the place so we keep going. The third time I cannot even remember what I ate, that's how lackluster the food was. I do remember that the server was slow and acted like we just there to bother here. It was not busy, because we came about 2 pm when we figured they would be between rushes. I really thought that was never going back there again. Well I was wrong. My good friend asked me to give it one more chance, and so I did. I order the chimichanga again. This time it was very tasteful. The beans were okay and their rice had a lot of flavor. It was very good. That trip was the only one I remember where I cleaned my entire plate of food and felt satisfied. I would give them a higher score if it was that time every time I was there, but only 25% of the time have I enjoyed it. read more

I LOVE Rebos! The chips and salsa sampler is superb and the black and white pizza is one of the most delicious meals in Sioux City. Stop in on a Sunday to try their unique twist on brunch. I visit Sioux City a few times a year and remember enjoying Rebos in the old location. The atmosphere was weird with mounted fish and deer, a weird fake fireplace, and nice paintings. None of it went together. There were two other tables, it was not busy during lunchtime. Service was less than ideal; the waitress was rude when we asked for small plates for our appetizer and spoons for serving it. Salsas were served in small bowls and were only filled about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way. Chips were so overly salty they were almost inedible, and seemed like the bottom of the bag, all crushed. I ate a salad with cold chicken and shrimp on top that was also terribly presented, with all the toppings in a pile on the middle of the plate. Very disappointing experience. While we have had good experiences here (despite the service almost always being slow), if it were based solely on today's lunch, I wouldn't return. My husband's chimichanga was so hard it was inedible on one end, and had been sitting under a heat lamp long enough that the cheese on top had dried into a tough crust and burnt onto the edges of the plate. The chicken inside was dry and bland. My chicken mushroom wrap looked really good and was loaded but unfortunately the chicken was so dry, it was tough to swallow. The sauteed veggies revealed to be mushy once you bit them. The only flavor in the wrap came from the scarce feta cheese. This food was nowhere near worth the price. Unfortunately I was on a timed lunch break so we didn't have time to ask for better dishes after it took almost thirty minutes for our disappointing food to arrive. :( read more

This place is really good...there are so few good places to eat here in sioux city I'm glad I gave this place a chance...I had some spicy cajun pasta thing that was really good the first time I came here. YUM YUM YUM. Can I get a Sangria, chips w/ 3 dips, and a black and white pizza please!? This place is something different in this bland town. All the food is out of this world. The service is usually not very good but the food makes up for that x10. The South west chicken enchiladas are very good as well, and the shrimp po boy. Just overall SO good. Southwestern tex mex is how i'd refer to this restaurant. It gets fairly busy on Friday and Saturday nights and is typically an older crowd after dinner. Be ready to wait for your food because it usually takes awhile. The Lobster Bisque is served almost? everyday and is also amazing. Let's put this restaurant in perspective please...it's Sioux CIty, Iowa. I was there recently the service was good and friendly. The food was good! I had one of the most flavorful salads I've ever tasted. It is Tex Mex/Carribean fusion...or rather the sign inside said so. Granted the restaurant didn't look good...its not a dive by any means but its just not attractive. Looks like a boring sports bar....but the food was a pleasant surprise. If you don't like spicy/flavorful food then don't go there. Otherwise its probably one of the better places to go in Sioux CIty. read more

One of our favorite 3 restaurants in SUX, and will definitely be back! I had the Fresca Salad - just a warning, it's HUGE, so come hungry. My stomach was sad that I couldn't finish it. Hubs had the enchiladas - nothing special about them, really, but they were very good. He also cannot pass up a good soup on the menu, so he tried the lobster bisque. As far as midwestern lobster bisque goes, this was excellent. Prices are reasonable, atmosphere is fun, service was great - can't wait to go back! read more

Well after I posted my crappy review of Rebo's on the website last month, I got a call the very next day and they tried to make it right. We came back tonight and found the service to be very nice, courteous and the food was great as I always remembered. Congratulation Rebo's you earned your reputation back with us. I'm sort of stunned to see a string of bad reviews. So much so, that I'm contributing a rare Yelp post. Yes, there are times you have to wait for a table at Rebos. This is because the food is THAT good, and as a result the staff is often that busy. My wife and I have dined here....I don't know...probably 75 times over the past decade. We keep coming back because it has the most interesting and creative food in the region. Our favorites: For an appetizer, get a cup of the lobster bisque. This place was awful. From the attention I first received by some guy in shorts and a t-shirt claiming to be a host to the burnt bcn wrapped shrimp...upon walking in I had to go find the "host" in the restaurant only to be told there was an hour wait with as many empty tables as there were I found that hard to believe, but since I heard the food was good I figured I'd wait it out. After the employees had there social hour amongst themselves the tables were cleaned and I was seated at the bar.... Where I'd originally asked to sit in the 1st place. After the server acknowledged a group of people that was seated after me she took my drink order and then once again the wait began to place a food order. I'd hate to see what this place is like when it's really busy...The lobster bisque was good as I was informed, server had brought out my main course bcn wrapped shrimp which was burnt. I informed her and she laughed it off... I respectfully paid for my less than substandard meal and left. This place ought to be acknowledged...for poor service and crappy food that has no right to claim a title as any Mexican or food of any Latin decent. This place is fairly tasty, but GREASY!! Cool atmosphere and location, interesting menu, but holy cow this stuff was covered in grease (probably partly because they put a lot of cheese on everything). Girlfriend and I used 5 napkins just to soak up as much of the oily stuff as we could and it was still covered even after that. My wife and I went to check out the new location because we loved this place in their old location but we were very disappointed. We went there on a Friday night around 7 pm and walked up to the hostess station behind another guy waiting to put his name in but there was no one at the hostess station. Finally after a few minutes a lady walks over and grabs a rag but never acknowledged any of us who were standing there waiting to put our names in but instead grabs the rag and wipes down a few tables and then disappears again. At this point we have been waiting well over 5 minutes and haven't even been acknowledged so my wife and I left and went across the street to SoHo instead. Aside from having no one at the hostess station it was very loud inside and you really had to speak up just to talk to the person standing next to you so they really need to find a way to include some sound barriers. I am sure we will give this place another try because we liked it so much at the old spot but if they fail to impress me I will stop going here because nothing annoys me more then poor service. read more

We recently ate here for the first time. We were very impressed! It was a little awkward to walk in the door and have no host/hostess. The owner/bar tender just yells at you and tells you where to sit. Be prepared to wait! This place is busy on the weekends! But well worth the wait, and you can call for reservations. We ordered the Black & White Pizza... absolutely amazing! Very yummy, with their delicious jalapeno ranch sauce. Decided to eat here based on a local's recommendation. Service was good and friendly. Menu is a bit all over the place from Mexican dishes to flatbread pizzas and a few fancier entrees. Overall our food was good to very good. Portion size was great. Flavors on the chimichanga were excellent. Mahi in the fish tacos was good. Flatbread specials were well received. Very unique, but delicious food. All types of flavors, and spice/hot levels. Menu items are unique to them, and most times their specials are made up by the cook, and never repeated. That's good and bad. I love having another selection each time, but I also don't like the fact that I can't order last weeks special off the menu if I liked it. However, they are usually pretty accomodating to try and make you what you want as long as they have the ingredients, and the cook knows how to make it. After enjoying your meal, make sure to try a Bananna's Foster for desert. If they make it right (I've had it ok, but also great), it's a great desert. read more

I'm going to give it a 4 star rating. Great location. The atmosphere is perfect for the location. It offers a relaxing atmosphere, while giving a hint of a little more upscale than the nearest businesses. The service varies. Lunch time is very good. Evening, mainly on the weekends can be kind of tough. This mainly happens when it's packed with customers. Even then, it's very acceptable. It's the food I go for which has been consistently consistent. Great flavor and the presentation matches the restaurant perfectly. Professionally rustic I guess. Pricing isn't bad. I can expect to spend in the area of $11 for lunch. In short - I love the place. Definitely in the top two choices of restaurants that I go to in Sioux City area. read more

Don't bother going there! It was WAY overpriced and they couldn't cook a steak?!? I asked for medium rare and I got medium well in parts and the rest was well done...I DETEST well steak! I sent it back! I never got anything back in exchange. They only offered me a free drink...Are you kidding me? A big group of us went to one of their wine tasting events a couple months ago. It was the WORST experience we have ever had. Only a couple people eat fish/seafood out of the group and they say they normally dont serve fish/seafood at these events, so I thought a group of us would go try it out..... If you aren't familiar with the wine tasting its 4 courses with 4 glasses of wine. Two of the courses were fish/seafood related and the wine was awful! $25 per person for nothing..i could have went to Soho for better food & service!! I thought I would give them another chance a month after, well it was another waste of money. I ordered a salad and nachos to go. My salad was hot and the nachos were soggy (the meat was suppose to be on the side) Lets just say they didnt compensate for either night... I will spend my hard working money elsewhere. read more

I took my family to Rebo's for New Year's Eve as a special treat. I'd eaten there many times for lunch and have always thought it was a hip local establishment. Unfortunately this experience changed my mind about Rebos. The waitress was unpersonable and unattentive to say the least. We ordered the mixed seafood appetizer for $13.95... (3) small shrimp, (2) stale crab claws, and a small glass of ceviche (which was good). The kids were excited for nachos so we ordered the Muchos Nachos, which should be called Menos Nachos. There was only (1) layer of chips on a medium size plate($9.95). They were gone instantly so we ordered the Rebos Q, which was also eaten quickly. 20 minutes later we managed to flag down the waitress for more chips, and she brought less than 1/2 a basket, which were gone instantly. My (4) year old wanted a burrito from the childrens menu... which turned out to be pinto beans un a tortilla with cheddar cheese baked on top. Not kid food, not even adult food. Taco Bell does much better for $4.95. The kids did not eat the kids pizza either, it was terrible. The veggie burrito was ok, but was covered in greasy cheese. The black beans were hard, as if not properly soaked before being cooked. Lame! It took (40) minutes to get our food, which came out (1) plate at a time. Not a big deal but not well-addressed by the waitress. She never stopped back at the table to ask how everything was. Ever! We had to flag down the owners wife to order a drink. Then we had to flag down the owner's wife again to get the check. Neither asked how the food was! The waitress had the attitude of someone resigned to dissapointing people, and furthermore someone who expects to disspoint people. A sad girl, a sad environment. It's too bad. We were excited to celebrate New Years by showing our kids a cool local restaurant, but it was the wrong choice. We'll be sure to go to La Trattoria Fresco next time! read more

Went to Rebos for lunch and had their special of the day salmon quesadilla. I found a flat piece of wood in a bite I took and the waitress informed the assistant manager and she came over and said that it must have been a spark off of their wood fire. There is NO way that this was a piece of burnt wood it was a navy blue color. She stated that is to be expected when they cook with a wood fire and "sorry" and nonchalantly walked away. She did not offer me a new dish or a discount. Maybe they should put in their menu "wood chunks to be expected in your meal". Really? Very rude and acted like I should not have voiced concern for a "strange" OBJECT, I repeat, OBJECT in my food! I think they need a new manager! read more
