I had whiplash from an auto accident and could barely turn my head left or right and had headaches and a sharp pain. After a couple of months of treatments and adjustments my headaches are gone and have 95% range of motion back in my neck. I've had back problems off and on for years but the worst I ever had was a couple of months ago when I bent down and heard a loud pop-crack at the base of my spine! After 5 days my lower back pain was extreme and could barely get off of the floor to get to their office. On a scale of 1-10 ten being the worst pain it was a 10. It is now a 4 and we're working on getting it down to a 2 or less. Getting a firm mattress is extremely important and being under Dr. Schertell's care I was given a prescription to give to Rooms-To-Go who sold me the mattress that had a discount of no taxes! This was a substantial savings and the firm bed is helping my back a lot. I was shown some stretching exercises to do that are helpful and am getting treatments and adjustments weekly to help my quality of life. Also, a few years ago a couple of times the doctors got my lower back to pop back in place and guess what? No pain! After my adjustments I like to lie down on the Docs table that has a roller in the middle of the cushioned table and it goes up and down my spine. This helps a lot! Chiropractic works! Have you ever cracked your knuckles? That is all it is however the doctors know where and how to do it after your first visit when you pinpoint where the pain is and how intense it is. I have a chronic knee injury and the acupuncture treatments relieve the pain stiffness almost immediately. I also had some digestive issues which the acupuncture helped with as well. If you haven't tried acupuncture then you should! Dr. Keith Schertell is very personal and knows what he's doing. Melissa is a fantastic massage therapist and is truly gifted. The four star rating is due to a lack of technology in the front office. They need to use electronically records for their patients instead of filling out paperwork.

The staff at Southeast Orthopedics has been just wonderful too. They have done a wonderful job of obtaining information from my insurance to providing information to my short term disability provider. I started the process of having my knee checked in July. I had my actual surgery in September (would have done it sooner but my hand was in a cast and I couldn't support myself on crutches). It is now December and I'm coming in for a checkup on my knee. Throughout this entire time, I've not had one issue with the staff or the surgeon. My knee is healing nicely and I should be pain free and back to normal by summer.
