Came here with a friend looking for a part for his car. The young man at the front desk was…read morefriendly and allowed us to enter the yard without paying the $3 per person fee that was mentioned on signs around the business. My friend and I quickly picked the part we needed out of an old Golf. Upon entering the building, the owner sternly said he wanted $30 for a piece of plastic that could be bought new for around $20-25. After a short attempt to bargain with the owner, he made rude remarks and didn't budge from his price. Needless to say my friend and I left without the part. My friend and I had visited two other salvage yards and were treated far better at both. Customer service is very inconsistent and prices are ridiculous. WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS "BUSINESS".

I called back here to see if I could return it, instead I was offered a replacement, which I happily accepted, because they are hard to come by. Kayla was helpful, polite, and honest. Their parts are reasonably priced, the shipping speed is good, and most importantly, they do the right thing.

I was told in great working condition and I specifically wanted to know if there was a warranty on this part and was told yes a 30 day return. I paid more for this part instead of another place because of the 30 day return. No other terms of sale was disclosed verbally or in writing from their add. When the part arrived, it was obvious that it was a broken part. I called and was told "TO BAD" that turbos were not warranted. I said that that was not what you said on the phone. The man said that was what his boss said. I learned about the terms of sale once the part arrived with the invoice. Nothing stated about a turbo not being under warranty or not returnable however it doesn't say it is or it is not. There are lots of outs on the back of the invoice but somewhat inconsistent in terms. The bad part is you don't get a heads up on this until you have purchased the item and THEN learn the terms of sale. I have returned the item and contested the charge. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY or if you must do business, ask for terms of sale BEFORE the sale and in writing. I do a lot of business with auto parts companies, never had this problem before. So this company who we used for the first time will be never again!

The staff was rude to me and very short with all my questions. it was very obvious they probably get questions like this often and don't hide their annoyance about them. Daves Auto Salvage in Clifton... stay far away unless you want to get RIPPED OFF. I was even told…read moreto not go to daves... after I went to daves :( I pulled out a bad transmission from my Jeep Grand Cherokee and installed it myself so I could sell the jeep before I moved. The transmission I got from Dave is $500 with tax. He said "this transmission runs great. You have a 30 day warranty." I put it in... it didn't work :( Terrible transmission. It didn't shift into second and first. Two days later I had to leave the state so I called up dave from out of state and said "The transmission doesn't work" dave says "you need to pull it out and bring it in" ?????????? It costs $450 to have a transmission removed and re-installed. THAT'S $450 MORE I HAD TO PAY BECAUSE DAVE SOLD ME A BAD TRANSMISSION On top of that, because I had a transmission guy test drive it to see what the problem was, Dave voided the warranty. The transmission guy even said "You shouldn't have gone to daves" If you ever talk to this guy, you'll see he doesn't seem very honest. There are much better salvage yards, Memos and The Trade Center have much more friendly and honest people. Don't go to Daves Auto Salvage in Clifton.

Sooooooo glad we did now!!! After reading all the negative reviews everything that has happened makes sense. My guess is they took any good parts off our car and put bad ones in it then tried to back out because they got what they wanted after what I've read here. We will be seeing them in court and possibly pressing criminal charges depending on what they do between now and then. If anyone tries to buy the 88 Nissan 300zx, DON'T - It's already been traded and there is a signed contract.
