Now there's a guy pestering you to buy extended packages. He wants to take your card so he can continue the sales pitch with your card in his hand. You don't need him. When you get to the screen that says to insert your card, reach up and touch icon picture of the card you're using. Nothing on the screen says to do this, which is where the salesman's assistance comes into play. I pulled up today and listened to the sales pitch. I said I didn't want to be rude but just wanted a single wash. He said I obviously didn't want his assistance and backed up a few feet, knowing I'd get stuck putting my card in when it said to without touching the card icon. So he came up with the most annoying voice, going on and on about how kind he was to be helping me even I said I didn't need him. When I told him we could talk about it after my wash (cars were backing up), he acted as if I was challenging him to a fight! It's $2 more than it used to be, but the basic wash turned out fine. I skipped the vacuuming to avoid the guy. I used to enjoy the car wash. The attendants were always nice and offered you a water or a treat for your dog. They'd even come over and wipe down to wet streaks when you were vacuuming. I always made sure to have a couple dollars to tip. I'd rather pay more at Oakwood Auto Wash than ever go to another Flying Ace.

Not only was the cleaning incomplete (trunk not cleaned, dash controls not cleaned and floor mats not cleaned) but the top of my dash, under the windshield, was scratched and sliced up multiple times. I don't understand how this could happen - the person must have been holding something sharp in addition to the cloth. I haven't gotten an estimate to fix it yet but I think the entire front part will need to be replaced and it will be pricey. I did call Soft Touch to tell them about my experience since they advertise that they are committed to satisfaction. I did receive an apploligy and was told to let them know if it happens again. However, with the extend of the damage, I don't think I'll be returning.

I did get a call back 2 days later, got an apology and explanation plus 2 free car washes. Flying Ace has an advantage because they have on site staff to address any problems, however, I must say, Four Seasons does a GOOD job if you go thru the automated car wash providing you don't encounter any problems. Bottom line analysis: Flying Ace has a slight advantage over Four Seasons because of the following: *Always have personnel on site *Their vacuum's are better Four Seasons pro's are: *lower price *usually not crowded *Arby's is next door (just kidding!) Four Seasons just needs to pay more attention to their equipment and facility and perhaps respond more quickly to issues.

But, I was able to get in and through pretty quickly. What I miss as of late at mikes car wash is the extra level of spraying down the vehicle before it actually gets put through the wash. The past few times I have been to a mikes car wash the attendant barely strays off the front. It used to be that they would spray down at minimum the front and rear along with windshield. And if you were really lucky they would hit your tires and sides before pushing the car through. If I had one suggestion it would be that they go after that initial soapy spray a little more on vehicles. Afterall you are paying $18+ for the service and it seems like the least that could be done. Good location, friendly staff. Just could do a bit better on the initial personal IMO.
