We took a beach tour, which lasted about 25-30 mins. During the tour, we spotted some sea life from the top, just to get clearer view of it, pilot turned helicopter around for us. This was very special and shows how much they care about their customers. During a flight, I was asking so many questions in genersl and pilot did answered all of them patiently. In September 2020 West Coast Aviation in Sarasota was contracted to do Phase 1-4 inspections on a…read moreCessna Citation 501. Turns out that they claimed they inspected/ repaired various components but in reality did not. However, their mechanic signed off the aircraft logs as "complied with." Eg the aircraft's upper speed brakes had significant corrosion and were recently painted over presumably to cover up the defects. WestCoast let the speed brakes pass inspection Another maintenance facility, only a few weeks later noted that the speed brakes were " unairworthy " and they had to be replaced. Similar problem on the same aircraft: Wheel brakes had to be replaced although WestCoast said they were "airworthy". This aircraft also had an oil leak in its right engine. WestCoast claimed (and signed off in the log book) that the engine oil leak was " repaired". One week later the engine started leaking oil again. This aircraft also had a fuel leak in one of its fuel tanks as well as a hydraulic leak near its nose gear. WestCoast failed to notice these leaks in their inspections. When presented with the deficiencies, Scott Evaschuk ( Management of WestCoast) refused to acknowledge or compensate for their errors In addition to the failures on the Phase 1-4 inspections, WestCoast was asked to to a pre purchase inspection on the Citation 501. Again it failed to note many of the deficiencies of the aircraft. We had to park in the Dolphin lot so you need a shuttle and they don't drop you off at the terminal, but in short term parking. I find that extremely odd and annoying, especially since my return flight lands at midnight and I need a ride back to my car. The airport itself is small enough that it's so easy to get around and is my choice for flights. I usually fly Allegiant from here and the only gripe is that the food choices aren't great, but I understand for only a few gates they can't have a lot.

However, recently we decided to go right into SRQ and we loved being at our favorite Sarasota spots right after landing. After landing we were quickly able to navigate the small airport, get our rental car, stop for caffeine and be at The Ringling all within 30 minutes of landing. The airport is small so it's easy to navigate but that also means there are not a ton of amenities. We enjoyed local artwork and displays throughout. Also, the volunteers that provide airport information and tourist information were very welcoming.

Tried to explain that we are mid 70 year old customers but it didn't matter that we couldn't stand in lines for 2-3 hours. Customer service is impossible to get in touch with so you have to converse with a keyboard cowboy. As the old saying goes , you get what you pay for. One and done , never again !
