Needed my trans fluid checked after a hose developed a leak. Goofy ford requires a check and fill via trans pan. Called several shops and said next week. Could not risk driving on low fluid. Called Ralph's and Steve said bring it in anytime and they will check it. Pulled into the shop and Steve immediately put the truck on the lift. All good. No charge. What trans shop does that? As honest as the day is long, and really knows what he's talking about..I went to him for a second opinion after I was told I needed $4000 to replace the trans on my Cadilac..My wife stopped by, he hooked the car up to his computer and told my wife the transmission had another five years on it as long I wasn't raceing on the highway. I took my dads 06 CTS for a banging noise in the drivetrain when accelerating or shifting into reverse. Sunset Cadillac had told him the bearing in the rear was bad and would be $1000. My Mercedes S 430 was not shifting correctly and often sticking in first gear until I would pull over and restart the car which temporarily solved the problem. After online research, I determined that the problem was most likely a well known Electrical Conductor Plate issue inside the tranny and likely beyond my capability to accomplish. My regular mechanic advised that I go to Ralph's Transmission and I must say that was the best advice! They treated me in a very fair manner, took my car in very quickly and helped me to resolve the problem without spending a ton of money. Nor did they do the typical upsell so many transmission shops are known to do!
