Today was the follow up appointment for the root canal I had last month…read more I arrived earlier than my appointed time. Last time the GPS sent me to the wrong end of Fox St; and kept rerouting me back to the same spot. Today the GPS did it's job. The front desk staff informed Dr. Blondin that I was here; and almost immediately I was ushered into an exam room. His assistant had me in two bibs to protect my clothes, asked if I wanted music, I thought I was on a cruise ship. Every knob, handle, wire, instrument in the room was covered with plastic. The Zeiss microscope was in its own sealed plastic bag. Dr. Blondin was in shortly. He explained what was going to happen today in his cheerful and reassuring voice. After a local analgesic; the work began. A dental dam was applied, then the drilling began. All the while the doctor was letting me know what was going on during the procedure. A few X-rays latter I was almost done. The X-rays showed the true picture of the bicuspid and the repair done. I'm way past the age of being in awe of anything. This endodontist office leaves me awestruck. Everyone does their job with precision and acumen. If you need a great endodontist - This is the place to go to first. What's that old saying? "you've seen the rest; now see the best". I'm paraphrasing.

From explaining every step of the process to the hands spa treatment, you felt comfortable and calm throughout the entire process. I wish I had known about them earlier. all the staff starting from the front desk to the dental assistants are all so wonderful and accommodating. You can tell they all get along well and are like a well oiled machine. I hated going to the dentist but their technique as well as equipment make the dental experience so much comfortable and calming. I like the mouthpiece they use during the procedure. its actually calming white noise and drowns out the drilling. it also doesnt dry out your mouth and doesnt feel like you are drowning on your own saliva. I also appreciate that they explain in detail the plan of care so everyones on the same page. I recommend them 100%!! I also was impressed for my very young daughter. every single time she went to the dentist to get a simple cleaning, she would cry and end up throwing up. it was awful but when i brought her to middletown dental associates, she was actually able to get a FULL cleaning done and said she loves the dentist. I was shocked (in a good way). Thank you Middletown dental associates!

So I walked into this beautiful office which describing it won't do it any justice, I was greeted by some wonderful front desk ladies. My wait time was very minimal actually I believe I was called within 5 mins of me finishing the paperwork. I was explained how much I would be responsible for before they began to work on me. They took some very high tech images of my teeth, and then Dr. Magdalena came in. She kept apologizing for the horrible work that was done by that crazy dentist. She couldn't understand how someone could let me leave their office all botched up or how I managed this pain for so long. My root canal was difficult from what I saw on the screenings and what my referring dentist told me before. I didn't feel a thing! I remember thinking when I went for a basic filling I felt like the "crazy" dentist was killing me! But here I was getting a root canal and no pain whatsoever. Definitely recommend her and Dr. Nijem from Family Smiles of the Hudson Valley, for fixing the horrible work I received at the dental office on Lagrange Ave in Poughkeepsie.

I had high hopes for Dr. Scott Schwartz because he seemed very professional, kind, and personable…read more My husband recommended him and took me to his office after I broke a crown and developed pain in another tooth. After taking X-rays and examining my mouth, Dr. Schwartz found several other cavities. I appreciated the thorough examination. However, I explained very clearly that, due to my financial situation, I only wanted to address my two urgent problems: my broken crown and the tooth that was causing me pain. I planned to take care of the other issues later when I could afford them. Unfortunately, I felt that my wishes were not respected. The day I came in for my dental cleaning with Renata, who was absolutely wonderful and very kind, I wasn't sure whether I would feel well enough to begin dental treatment afterward. When I scheduled my cleaning, I had explained that I would decide that day depending on how I felt. However, I was told by the receptionist that if I didn't start treatment that same day, I would have to pay a significant portion of the fee again because my appointment couldn't be changed. I felt pressured into proceeding, even though I wasn't comfortable. The most upsetting part happened when Dr. Schwartz numbed a tooth that wasn't bothering me and prepared to begin treatment there instead of on the tooth that was actually causing me pain. I stopped him and asked, "Why are you working on this tooth? I specifically asked you to treat the painful tooth first." I had made my priorities very clear from the beginning, yet I felt they were ignored. Instead of listening to what I wanted and what I could afford, I felt the treatment plan was driven by what the office preferred rather than by my immediate needs. I left the office heartbroken, disappointed, and upset. My mouth was numb from the injection, and I could barely speak. More than anything, I felt unheard. Every patient deserves to have their concerns listened to and their treatment priorities respected, especially when financial limitations are clearly communicated. While I found the staff member Renata to be exceptional, my overall experience with Dr. Schwartz left me feeling that my wishes were not respected, and because of that, I cannot recommend him based on my personal experience.
