This is my second time I visited Red Ball. The first time they were johnny on the spot. Helping me maneuver around since it was a bit intimidating on where to go for what and with what. They helped me unload and went through the recyclables I had. The experience was a good one and I felt I was compensated for my recyclables fairly. What a difference a few months does. The 2nd time it was bring your stuff and btw you were terrible at sorting everything and I ain't here to baby sit you. Thus your getting a low rate on your mixture. Bam, ain't that a shot in the arse. I agree they don't have time to go through everyone's stuff. But I had a lot of aluminum pieces that were pretty easily separated and I had sorted out some of the stainless and steel and aluminum I had taken off an old lawnmower motor along with a bag of aluminum cans, bolts, screws, nuts, washers that I salvaged from several home projects. But it all went into the general fund at Red Ball. They don't tell you to separate before you bring them in, which I could have gladly done and the person before me, well, they kind of helped him, maybe he is a regular. I only go when I have compiled a supply of throw away metals, so I am not a weekly or monthly customer. I don't know exactly but I got .04 a lb for the motor which I took the aluminum shields off, the bolts, nuts, stainless steel parts, rocker arms etc. off. So I got about $2.24 for my efforts, huff. I try to improved the world by recycling, but at this rate, it doesn't pay for the gas. I did the estimator they had on line and it showed .39/lb for aluminum cans, they paid me .30/lb. That's over $1 less which would of helped for cost of gas. No need to cry over spilled milk, but this isn't all they advertise to be. Next time I will try to sell some for parts on Craig's List, might be more lucrative and less time consuming. read more

One of their shitheel drivers tried to sideswipe me on November 7th, 2025 at 7:45 AM EST on I-65 South. He started coming into my lane while I was still parallel with the midway point of his trailer and only turned on his turn signal when I honked my horn yet he didn't stop. This region definitely needs more recycling assistance to avoid a Love Canal-type problem in the future, but their drivers don't care if they kill people on their way to work. read more

Dont waste your time. As a career scrap hauler, they dock you weight just from items that are already part of the vehicle. For instance, if you replace a dash in one car and then put the old one in a scrap car, they dock you that weight. read more

Two times in the past year I've been practicing accused of stealing copper there and was told I had to make a police report . Lady behind the counter is rude . Had the nerve to say I'm talking to her like she was stupid when she couldn't understand what side work was and kept wanting a company name . Maybe should have just gave it too her . Probably could have sue for false allegations. read more

My experience was good I think that whenever you're using the small scale the employee should let you know what he's paying for number one copper at this price so that way there's no confusion that way I know exactly what we are getting paid read more

This is a pretty efficient operation at least in my experience. They are located in an area that is not too far off the beaten path, so it's pretty easy to get in and out. The clerks at the pay window are a little slow at times, depending on which ones are working. But that's a minor gripe. I'll definitely be back. read more

Dishonest broken scales , will not honor their word , will steal your recyclables and don't give you a fair price for your scrap . Dishonest, ownership- lie to your face scales were broken for about a month , weight and measure needs to be call. read more

Took a van load of scrap and a lot of heavy metals to red ball today 7/17/21 and you ought to know they had in coming scales turned off so you had no idea of how much weight you have and same thing going out it looks to me like they can set the bar and give you what ever they want and rip you off so beware of this if you take a load there and except to get paid a decent price cuz you won't. They turn the scales off so they profit more than you. My scrap will be going to Louisville from now on. read more

I had Red Ball tow my car back home for me a month or so ago. I had called many towing services, and not only was the person who answered FRIENDLY and COURTEOUS, but they even price matched the cheapest price I had found elsewhere. The truck driver was obviously very skilled, as he successfully maneuvered getting my car on the ramp pretty much in the middle of everything at the Galt House downtown. He even recommended an auto repair place near my home. I will definitely be using them again. read more
