Amazing food and covktails, there beers are always chilled and there martinis are great

We needed to stop for gas one more time before reaching our destination. Store had a decent snack selection. I only grabbed a hot coffee from here, which was reasonably priced. They had some little area with additional items in the back, but I was trying to be quick so we could continue back on the road. If I was hungry enough, I would have definitely took advantage of the chicken tenders and potato wedges they had. They looked soooo good! Everyone else in line was getting some too lol cashier was friendly. My only feedback is that there is only one toilet for the public. Bathroom could use an update. If we are on the road and end up having to go through Bieber again, I want to stop by for the hot food and goodies. Seems like a good grab n go place for people coming through and even for the locals. read more

This is a regular stop for us on our way to and from Reno. Always had good experiences before today. I witnessed a deplorable act of disrespect by one of the employees to a Hispanic gentleman trying to pay for gas and some snacks. Obviously there was a communication issue but the older male employee got upset and walked out from behind the counter raising his voice and telling the customer to "SPEAK ENGLISH"! aa he went out to the gas pumps.When he returned he continued his verbal attack on the customer as he took his payment. After the gentleman exited,this employee kept up his racist views to the next customer saying "glad we're shipping them all back!" and reiterated the fact that "they should all fucking speak English". I was paying for my things with the young employee next to this guy and spoke up to say "His money was good though,right????!!!" and he answered "yea,his money was good..." The customer he was helping looked over at me and smiled nervously This guy should NEVER be in a position to work with the public with his lack of empathy or compassion! read more

What a great find. It's a real rural old time general store. Gas, snacks, party supplies, auto stuff, souvenirs, canning jars, & so much more. Nice people. It will be a planned stop the next time we travel through again. read more

Great service from the staff here always, and indeed the chicken and potato wedges are super flavourful and tender! Prices are a little steep but that's to expect since it's pretty much the only place around for miles. Toilets are clean but very high in demand so be ready to wait your turn. No bathrooms in the area, water was shut off!!! So disappointed, not sure if it was the whole community.

Some people complain that this is not much of a grocery store. If you need to go grocery shopping, go to Big Valley Groceries. This is more of a glorified gas station, but it is VERY glorified. They have lots of things you might need around the house, including an Ace Hardware store in the back. They also sell lumber. We can stop in and, get some eggs and milk, light bulbs, hardware for the project we are working on, and gas. read more

Some folks call this the 'Mall' of Big Valley. It's one of the local general stores and general it is. Need a hairbrush, frozen food, batteries, a hammer, gas, or horse feed? This is your place. As a traveller (not a local), I found it a bit better stocked than the general store in Adin, but Adin's store has better groceries and deli. read more

One of the few places to stop in the area and they have pretty much everything, including gas and breakfast burritos made to order. Owner and staff are very friendly, place is clean and organized. They even have allergy/cold medicine and espresso drinks made to order. read more

There aren't a lot of stores in Big Valley, but Red Barn is one of the major ones. Unfortunately it's not a very good grocery store. Very limited and overpriced. I suppose it's good if you are in desperate need of a flashlight on the road, but beverages run, in some cases, 200% of what you would normally expect to pay. The hot food they offer is actually pretty tasty. The chicken strips are incredible. Unfortunately this leads me to the next problem; this is not a good place to stop in at for food if you're in any semblance of a hurry. The store is understaffed, and often there's only one person working. If you want hot food forget about it; just today I waited 40 minutes before I was even acknowledged because the staff often gets tied up with socializing with the regular customers. This wouldn't be a big deal but the wait times are unacceptably long. read more

We had a car trouble nearby and didn't have cell service. We went into the Red Barn, and employees let us use the phone. They were super patient, and helped make sure we got back on the road. In a area with VERY little else around this was a diamond in the rough. Stopped for gas and a rest stop. Found some good fresh fried chicken and a great little store. read more

I could not imagine a business with a better management than the Red Barn ! The Red Barn is better than an oasis in the desert. It's the hub of a wheel, of the entire region for more than 60 miles in any direction. read more
