S'mores and Nanaimo bar ice cream
    Long K.

Tons of ice cream flavors. Although I think they would do a whole lot better if they cut down quantity and improved quality. THERE ARE NO SAMPLES...as all the signs serve to remind you that. Pick your flavors wisely. I couldn't discern any marshmallow flavor in my s'mores ice cream. No idea what a Nanaimo Bar really tastes like (sorry I'm not Canadian), but judging from the item description it tasted nowhere near that, the wifey hated it. The ice cream was relatively smooth, but I can't remember the last time I didn't want to finish one. Hey at least the signs say they accept U.S. currency too.

    Frozen Fillets. Barf-o-Rama.

Unbelievably bad. It's just fish and chips and these guys have been doing it for 30 years. But when I went in the fish was frozen not fresh. The price was on par with fresh but the fish pieces were shaped. Chips were soggy. When I asked why it was a bit off the owner snapped at me "it's fresh!" and then walked into the back of the restaurant. Don't go. Don't waste your money. Try the Greek place across the street. Just don't go to Red Baton.

a sign that reads attention don't card users

Such a turn off, every single label has a label to remind you that they don't accept no credit cards. Seriously. Unbelievable. Is there a way to give no stars?

    Red Baron.

Moby Dick's is obviously a busy place in the summer, being right across from the waterfront -- but…read morein January, it's a sleepy area and the restaurant is active, but not too busy. We found the food unremarkable - standard fish, standard chips, standard coleslaw, standard tartar sauce. All fried food is pretty standard, pretty greasy, but not any better or worse than many fish & chips shops. So why a 3-star rating rather than 4-stars? First, there is there menu and pricing: What is called a 1-piece fish & chips comes with 2 pieces - all identified fish comes with one extra piece. It's a gimmick, and mostly just annoying. 2nd, there is a charge for everything -- Want tartar sauce? There are three sizes, three prices. Want to substitute onion rings for the fries? Can't do it, even with an up-charge, though you can order fish and you can order onion rings, each separately, each with its own price. Coleslaw? Yes, but not instead of fries. And the coleslaw is pricey - a good sized portion, but a substantial price none-the-less. The portion sizes are reasonably large, but the incessant a-la-carte with each item with a price - one feels nickled and dimed to death. The atmosphere - ok, 1950s-ish, nothing special. The staff, friendly and attentive, but young and inexperienced. And then there was the problem with the cooking -- we got 5 pieces of fish (ordered 2 and 1, which is really 2+1 and 1+1 = 5). Four of them were pretty standard. One was undercooked - cooked on the outer edges (under the fried batter), and raw and translucent on the inside. Yes, they took that off the ticket, so I didn't have to pay for it, but biting into a piece of raw fish with the outside so hot it almost burned my mouth and the inside uncooked - not so pleasant. Moby Dick's gets good ratings from many Yelpers, but in my view, it's not worth going out of your way for.

We tried the seafood chowder which was ok... .... The fish was only one type , waitress said Calhk , which I didn't know about ... it didn't taste as good as cod or snapper which I hope they can offer so I can consider to come back sooner... Fish was a deal get one piece free with every order but charge for Tartar sauce?? The service was great and friendly as its family run which gives more reason to support them over the corporate fish n chips places ... so you don't have to phish around ...

The Orange Blossom Cardemon Pistachio is out if this world. Layer after later I'd unique flavour. The vanilla...how do u say this? This vanilla is to most other vanilla as Pearl Jam is to Nickelback. You can't fake the kind of work and care this woman outs into making gelato, and her training by an Italian Gelato maker is like an unforgettable icing on that cake. And speaking of cakes, if you see the woman who runs the place baking one...it's COS SHE PUTS A WHOLE CAKE IN THE BIRTHDAY CAKE GELATO. Gelato: Overall average except Tiramisu one I tried tiramisu and Nutella, and both were decent. I also tasted Ferrero Rocher, which wasn't great, and crème brûlée, which was too sweet for my liking. The orange blossom with cardamom tasted a bit like eating a jasmine flower--very floral, not really my thing. I've definitely had much better gelato elsewhere. That said, I would still give the tiramisu a special mention--it was really good and probably the highlight. Overall, it's a decent place to try once, especially because of its location near the beach and variety of flavors.
