I don't have a sweet tooth and I'm not usually impressed by ice cream so I would give this a 3.5/5! While the ice cream was good, it was also very standard in my opinion. I got one of the seasonal flavors, matcha strawberry, in a waffle cone and it was sweet and cold (as ice cream should be). My main reason for trying this place out was that it is a local business, and I was visiting the park that it shares its name with. The place was very busy but we were served very quickly and I was happy with the photos that I took inside the store (it was clean/organized despite the large crowds)!
I came here on a date with my little girl, and she absolutely loved her ice cream and biscuit--it was her first time having ice cream! I tried the chocolate peanut butter with a cone, and it was really good. You can choose a regular cone or waffle cone at no extra charge--I went with the regular cone. It was a nice sunny day, and we had a lovely time!
This is my favorite ice cream shop to go to when I'm visiting Vancouver. Excellent location and a great view. I love that there's a huge variety of flavors and the employees are always so friendly!
Affordable and delicious ice cream scoops! I love getting a scoop at Rocky Point. My partner and I got one scoop of their double chocolate raspberry with a regular cone (cups are a 10 cent charge). The "double chocolate" is chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips inside. It was good but I wish the second chocolate was a chocolate fudge instead! The chips didn't add much to the chocolate flavour. Raspberries were great and well-integrated. Service was really quick considering how busy it can get in there. It can get confusing. Inside the shop is really bustling and it's best to get your ice cream and bounce as quickly as possible. It can get very crowded, loud, and chaotic in there.
Rocky Point Ice Cream Chocolate Covered Strawberry Ice Cream $5 Review: This will always be my favorite ice cream place because of the memories that it holds for me and the exceptional taste of their ice cream! They simply never miss!! I have never found a place that could top this place off! I love how they have seasonal flavours that are so creative and in comparison to other ice cream places, their prices are really decent! They had a seasonal special which was the chocolate covered strawberry flavour. It was a mix of decadent dark chocolate ice cream and sweet fresh strawberry ice cream. The flavours really complimented each other! I'm not sure if it was the whole batch or just my scoop but I found my scoop pretty chocolate heavy. I would've liked if the strawberry flavour was able to shine through more just because of how decadent, creamy and deep the chocolate was. If it was more strawberry flavour heavy, it would be just like a real chocolate covered strawberry!! Rating: 9/10
After walking on trails at Rocky Point Park, of course I must come here to eat the Rocky Point icecream. It was such a hot day on Sunday. The best was to eat icecream! A lot of people lined up outside the icecream shop when I got here. Luckily, the lineup was moving quickly that I could go in and order icecream. They had many different flavours. They even had one for dogs . They had been selling icecream since 1997. It was such a long time! Port Moody doesn't have a lot of unique icecream shops, so people who live in Port Moody, Coquitlam, or Port Coquitlam, or whoever visits Port Moody would eat the icecream here. Unlike Vanocuer, there are many icecream shops or options around. Overall, the quality was fine. They had enough staff to serve many customers quickly. They considered efficient already. Pricing was reasonable and affordable. However; it's hard to find parking at the Rocky Point Park parking lot. We parked further away (at Port Moody City Hall) and had a 25 min walk on trail. Eventually, the trail would get to Rocky Point Park and Rocky Point Icecream.
This iconic spot is a must if you're at Rocky Point (also one of the main reasons why I go to Rocky point). Situated at the head of the park, RPIC will always have a line on a sunny day. They have a great array of flavours with some specialties here and there. I'm a fan of the salted caramel, espresso flake, peanut butter chocolate, and their speciality sweet georgia brown (or any of their fun easter flavours). The Ice cream is in my top 3 in all of Van! Creamy, flavorful and a great price. Owned by a husband and wife, i will always support this business. They're very sweet people and i love how they employ the younger generation. The customer service is always with a smile - so they've done a great job on training! Ps, if you're a fan of this spot, check out the Canteen, a few steps away for some coffee, treats and yummy soft serve or dole whip.
Rocky Point Ice Cream in Port Moody totally lived up to the hype! Super crowded, but colorful and lively ambiance with friendly and fast service. Yummy flavors, and my instant favorites are Double Chocolate Raspberry, Espresso Flake, and, the best of the lot, Queens of the Stone Fruit! Will be going back soon to check out their other highly recommended menu items: lemon cookie yogurt, salted caramel and licorice ice cream flavors, and the ice cream cakes! *rubbing hands in glee* Highly recommend, especially during Summer and particularly for those of us with sweet teeth including canine family members! The place is right next to the beautiful and bustling Rocky Point Park, so it's the perfect spot to take a leisurely stroll by the scenic waterfront and onto the pier. Ample parking upfront in the complex, even though scrambling to find a spot is highly probable during rush hours.
A great place for ice cream in the Tri Cities area! I've been here quite a few times but this is my first time writing a review. The ice cream was delicious with lots of flavours to choose from. You're able to do testers and I love getting a new flavour every time I'm here.
This place is one of my favourites for ice cream! It's always been super delicious and tasty. I love they do have some plant based flavours. The best is also having a dog friendly flavour for anyone who has a dog!

Yummy spot for ice cream! I got the salted caramel and my friend got Earl grey. The ice cream was super flavourful and smooth. Will have to come back to the other flavors!
The line was big but well managed by the staff . Our order was taken way behind in the line itself and the service was quick when we reached the window to pick up. The flavours we picked up were : salted caramel, rum and raisin, cotton candy and mine was cookies and cream. We really enjoyed our the flavours. While eating my cookies and cream I came across a HAIR in my ice cream!! Horrified I went back to complain. My issue was heard carefully and I was offered a replacement immediately which I was happy with. The young girl apologized and was courteous while attending to the complain. Now as a customer I could have done two things: 1.make a scene and complain. 2. Complain and observe. I did the latter and I was happy with the way they handled it. It was a busy time for them yet I was given enough time to explain myself and no one rushed me. They apologized and offered a solution. This says so much about the company and the way they train and handle their employees. Happy customer here!

It can be a real challenge to be someone who is dairy free but lovesssss ice cream cake. Rocky Point Ice Cream takes that challenge completely away. I was able to order a custom dairy free, and gluten sensitive cake for a birthday in no time. With a week's notice and a short form filled out, I was given the most perfect cake for my event. One of the things I love most about Rocky Point Ice cream is that the plant based flavours are almost undetectable from regular dairy flavours. They are delicious, creamy and packed with flavour. I make a point of buying pints from this location now rather than getting non-dairy ice creams from the grocery stores because I love the quality and service I get each time I visit. This place is great to hit up if you want to go for a walk in the park and then head for a sweet treat afterwards in their cute little shop. I highly recommend! read more
Well finally got time to visit this really popular ice cream spot of Vancouver which is in Port Moody. It's always flooded with people especially on weekends but the service is pretty fast as there is ample staff to address your order while you are tasting many other flavours. The ambience is okay. Pricing and quantity and quality is nice and I guess that's why it's popular. I loved the blueberry cream cheese flavour a lot. I also tried plant based coconut which is also gluten free. It's okay in taste. Their cookie and cream is also good. We were in hurry so could not taste other flavours. Staff is very friendly. It's definitely a must try place to visit if you are in the area. read more
Given that I was at Rocky Point Park, it was only fitting to try its ice cream! I was impressed by how fast they served a huge line during a hot day. I opted for the lemon yogurt and it was a good level of tart and sweetness with bits of lemon in it. I think it's possible that I'd gotten one of the less sweet flavours since my friends found theirs more sweet. While it will not be dethroning my top ice cream spots in the Lower Mainland, I still found it a very solid spot. read more

A gem without the beautiful Rocky Point Park. A nice family oriented ice cream parlour offering a plethora of flavours. Favourite is toasted coconut it has real toasted coconut and dark chocolate bits. The fresh flavours never disappoint and the waffle cones are a must try. read more
Rocky Point Ice Cream was our last pit stop before we headed back into the city. I've had their ice cream at Yum's Sweet Shop but wasn't too impressed with the generic flavours. But this is their original location so it was worth a shot. We dropped in on a Sunday afternoon (around 6:15pm). Normally, there's a huge line but we got lucky and there was only a small one. We tried a couple flavours each before choosing our cone. Service was quick and friendly. There's a list of the flavours posted outside otherwise, you can peruse the four displays inside. Believe there's about 40 flavours. They also serve cakes, blended drinks and coffee/tea. - Vegan mango and vegan lemon basil ($6.00 double scoop) - we added a waffle cone ($1.00). Mango and lemon basil both had a light, smooth, consistent texture. Flavours were well balanced. Lemon basil was delightful. - Honey lavender ($4.00 single scoop) - floral without being too overpowering. Honey adds a touch of sweetness. Happy that Rocky Point's ice cream is much more satisfying out in PoMo. read more

Delicious ice cream. The prices are better than gelato and the scoops are a decent size for what is available in Vancouver. The banana fudge is delicious. The Hokey Pokey, matcha, espresso, and chocolate peanut butter were all our favourites this trip around. It has limited seating and on a hot day it is hard to get a good place to sit near by, so I recommend taking the ice cream to the wharf and try spotting a seal or two. Service was great. All of the young ladies working had a smile on their faces, had great enthusiasm, and gave service not seen since the lock downs. read more

Always wondered why there was always a huge lineup in front of this place. Seriously good ice cream. Parking is plentiful in the lot in front. This is part of Rocky Point Park after all. The place has maybe 20-30 flavours of ice cream. My understanding is that everything is made fresh here. I had the strawberry ice cream. This is not the pink stuff found in chain supermarkets. Seriously delicious. The 1-scoop cone looked a bit weird as they squish the scoop into the cone. In any case, the double is (as expected) a better deal. Definitely worth hitting up on a hot summer day if one is in the area. Recommended. read more

It was a hot summer day and Rocky Point Ice Cream had a huge line up but it was worth the wait. I've seen their food truck around but have never been to the actual store before. They have a great selection of flavours and pricing is good. I tried Raspberries and Cream, Earl Grey and Honey, Espresso Flake, Salted Caramel and a fruity mojito flavour. The salted caramel was definitely very salty which is perfect for me. The only thing is that I wish the ice cream was a bit colder and harder but again, it was a very hot day so not really complaining. I can see why this is a must visit spot if you're at Rocky Point Park! read more
Think it's about time for an updated review! Not much has changed since my first review over two years ago. Rocky Point Ice Cream is still one of my favourite spots for ice cream! I have tried many flavours here, including Raspberry n Cream, Earl Grey n Honey, Mint Flake, Bubble Gum, Cookies n Cream, and Strawberry. All delicious! Rocky Point Park is about 20 minutes away from us, but we like to venture out there once in awhile when it is sunny. But I always must get a scoop or two everytime we visit. Our most recent visit was last week and it was an absolutely beautiful day out. You weren't able to go inside nor taste any flavours but even with this, the lineup remained super long the whole time we were there. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes but it was well worth the wait! read more

Edit 2.0: finally came back again for the ice cream and this time i got the green tea and it was still good. Not the best grean tea as passione gelato and earnest got better one but it still was good. Recommended as ive said earlier. Cheers! read more

This was my third time heading to Rocky Point Park but only the second time knowing about them having a dog friendly ice cream! I drove from Vancouver on Labour Day and not realizing how hectic the line up would be. Me and my wife realized that it would be best coming on a different day so we headed back to the ice cream store on Wednesday evening around 7:45pm. The line up was minimal and a few dogs showed up. Our puppy was pretty excited since he could smell all the flavours of goodness in the store. I ordered salted caramel and my wife got matcha green tea. Of course our little puppy got a treat of a doggie ice cream for only $3 including a cone ! The price was cheap as altogether I paid about $11 and gave them a tip. I'd recommend coming here if you're craving ice cream and if you have any dogs you'll be extremely pleased to know that they do allow dogs to come in as long as they're on a leash. Bigger dogs however have to be left outside though. Will come back again soon thanks Rocky Point ! read more

Probably the best icecream joint which I find myself returning over and over again despite having tried Ernest Icecream and other Italian gelato places in town. There is nothing fancy about Rocky Point, you won't find exclusive mixings or flavours that you cannot pronounce. Rather, the icecream here focus on a good old balance of creaminess versus the icecrystals.... it never feels like it's waterway. The cream and flavouring used must be of high quality as when I eat it every time the aroma comes through with depth and lingers in my mouth. I like some other icecream parlor the icecream feels watery, melts in mouth fast, or the cream taste flat and have to rely on junk food fixings to give it texture and taste. At $3 per scoop it is not cheap but not expensive either. That's why you will always find lineup in summer time. Despite being busy, the staff are always friendly. Though sometimes they could get my orders wrong. A go-to ice cream place in Port Moody and for good reason. They have so many flavours and hardly ever a bad combination! You can check their flavours online. On a hot summer day it's always packed and sometimes the line up it out the door. The salted caramel is my usual but this time I went with strawberry and cracker Jack popcorn flavours. The strawberry has such an authentic fruit flavour while the cracker Jack had actual pieces of the popcorn in there ! I usually get 1 scoop with a cone so for me, two scoops is too filling. Don't worry about not knowing which flavour you want when you get to the counter , you wait in line until a worker helps you and they will stay with you , giving you sample until you are ready to pay. Never had a bad experience here and always a place to come when I'm visiting the park! read more
