Traveling to Pa, I had to stop in Massillon to charge my EV. So naturally I wanted to see what the…read morearea offers food wise. The Nook was highly recommended so off we go. I came about noon and it was fairly busy but I love sitting at the bar which was empty. The lady makes a few suggestions since they are primarily a smokehouse, and I decide on a trio of Smoked sliders- brisket, chicken and pork. Add to that Sauerkraut balls with dill sauce and Sweet potato cubes with a cinnamon butter. Everything comes out in a reasonable amount of time and OMG! The sliders are served on Potato rolls (YUM) and she gives me one of each BBQ sauce (regular, sweet and spicy). The brisket was hands down the best I've had, and that's comparing it to the best BBQ place I visited in Houston TX. Juicy, Smokey and just downright flavor filled. I polished off the brisket and tried the Sauerkraut balls next. Not sure what all is in them but I was loving it. The dill sauce to dip was a bonus. The pulled pork and chicken sliders were amazing and had the right amount of smoke, not overpowering. The baked Sweet Potato cubes were soft and also flavorful. This was really a great choice all the way around. I even had a Lemon Shandy instead of my usual IPA. This was a lot of food. The sliders were deceptively filling. I was down to 2 Sauerkraut balls and had to stop for fear of food induced coma. I still had 1 1/2 hours to my destination. This is one of those places that you hope to find when traveling. The trifecta- great food, awesome service, all at a fair price! $33 plus tip for a lot of food. Highly recommend The Nook!!

So we have been curious about this place and finally decided to go today…read more This place boasts "THE BEST Chicken and Waffles in Ohio" spoiler: not even remotely. So when you fry chicken, especially boneless cuts like tenders. You need to MARINATE the chicken, not let it sit in plain water. This chicken is for caucasians that hate flavor, the chicken meat itself was never marinated or spiced before being coated. It was wet but the taste was of water. Not from chicken juices and seasonings. The breading was salt and pepper and possibly garlic. It was all so bland that it didn't taste like anything. The chicken had 0 flavor and the breading was almost the same. The waffles were soggy from the incredibly watery maple syrup. I made the mistake of getting Nashville hot and the coating overpowered everything else on the plate, I couldn't taste anything else outside of that. The chicken being incredibly bland doesn't help. We also got the pretzel sticks, which were fried hard. They were covered in oil, they weren't bad but I'd pass on them a next time. The cheese sauce had a good taste but it was very watered down. Notice everything being watery is a theme. The milkshake was ok, it wasn't worth the price. It tasted more like a weak malt flavor instead of chocolate. All in all this is some of the worst chicken I've had in awhile. When you make KFC look good you have issues. We probably won't be back, not when Caines, Dave's, Bojangles, slim chickens exist. The resurant was generic looking, it's going for that edgy bar look. It was clean but unoriginal. Service was fine. No picture, I threw half of mine away and tossed the milkshake in the trash and went to Panera for a Mango smoothie.

I understand it's hard to transport some of these things via carryout. There was no caramel, whipped cream, maple syrup, or powdered sugar on this. Otherwise the blueberry compote was good and it's a huge portion of pancakes. Hot honey breakfast sandwich. Again huge portion on a sweet bun. Nashville style is no joke extreme spice. Nice side of hot honey. Loaded tot quesadilla. Well, wouldn't get this again. Doesn't have much chicken. There was no cheese sauce that said came with it. It's pretty dry with no sauce on it. Overall, if you're going to order carryout, you should probably check to see if the sauces are there before leaving. Some items are good, but you really need everything to be included.

I met a friend here for an early dinner and we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and helpful when we asked her what her favorite burger was. I ended up getting the Southern Fizzle Burger and then upgraded the fries to the Mexican Street Fries. The burger was huge and I tried to eat like I normally would, but after about 3 bites, I realized that it was going to be a knife and fork situation. The egg on the burger caused the bottom bun to get a little soggy and made it too difficult to hold, but I'm not complaining about that. The burger was delicious and there were a lot of flavors going on there. The Mexican street fries were also fantastic and once again, after a few fries, I had to turn to using the fork instead of my fingers. Our server was attentive and kept our drinks refilled. The place has the feel of a mom and pop diner. It was too cold to sit on the patio, but that looked like it would be a nice option in the summer. I would gladly come back here and try some of the other burgers and I definitely want to try the flight of fries sometime.
