Hello Longmont and Boulder County! A quick check in here at Red Cedar Bistro on Main Street! We had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant today and had an absolutely wonderful experience! We ordered 4 plates three shareable and 1 entree. We were taken back by the green chili hummus! It was spectacular- a guacamole style flavor profile full of delicious chickpeas, chili and garlic. A generous portion served with pita , veggies and olives. Our Crispy potato Bravas were a delicious crispy cut potatoes cooked to perfection served with a brava sauce that was spicy, a small hint of smoke and a creamy aioli that was a perfect topper! We finished our small shareable with chef Bruschetta. Fantastic toasted bread topped with chefs choice. Our entree was a Pasta full of amazing Burrata, Pea shoot pesto and a fresh mint finish! Generous portions. Our service was exceptional and the restaurant was clean, large, open with a lot of windows and amazing art! We would not hesitate to suggest - No - encourage - Well - maybe more like - GO and visit them! Seriously, You will not be disappointed. They offer many evenings with specials, a happy hour that sounds fantastic especially for the upcoming spring/summer months! We look forward to seeing this restaurant busy! So, the food was very good! Well executed and solid quality ingredients. However, they would absolutely kill it if they would: 1) Install decent lighting. I mean, the drip ceilings with too-bright can lights and nothing else makes for an awful vibe. I mean c'mon. Even putting cheap candled and some basic overhead lighting that adds interest to the space would go a LONG way. 2) Staff for the night, not based on bookings. Especially in a place like Longmont and the sheer size of the space (way too big), you must be prepared. Tonight (Sat) at peak time to have TWO servers and one apparent manager or owner (who didn't jump in to help handle tables) is absurd. Luckily, the young lady waiting tables and trying to make drinks was truly a delightful person. 3) Arrange the floor in a way that makes it feel more interesting. Break it up, smaller groupings, etc. The setup now feels completely amateur and random. Anyway, enough free (and unsolicited) advice. The best falafel I have had in years! None better in Colorado. The flatbread is made daily. All the vegetables are fresh. Varied menu, which can accommodate almost any taste. Holy sh*t. This goes in my top 5 meals I've ever eaten. Everything from the service to the food was absolutely phenomenal!! Our sever, Zoey, was very educated on the menu and super kind. Everything we ate had so much flavor.. the salad was a perfect starter, followed by the Moroccan shrimp which I will be trying to recreate at home until I perfect it. The green chile hummus?! Hell yeaahhhh. I'll be seeing the falafel wrap in my dreams. Very fresh farm to table ingredients and you can definitely taste it. Not pictured was the specialty cocktail I ordered, 5th & Main. Red Cedar Bistro is conveniently located in central Longmont. Park in the parking lot behind the building in the public parking lots along Kimbark for convenience. We did not have a reservation but we were seated promptly because we were very early on a Friday evening. The decor is rustic and spare, and there are many tables in the large open space. We were immediately approached by a waitress and ordered a cocktail which was delicious and arrived quickly. We ordered an appetizer and enjoyed the shrimp very much! I am ecstatic to find authentic Mediterranean food near by! The food was outstanding! We really enjoyed our romantic dinner. read more

All the flavors - so scrumptious! We had the Carrot bisque soup (exceptional), Winter Harvest salad (the candied pecans lightly roasted & crispy -heaven!), the gyro (superb) and the spanakopita with ratatouille... so flaky & yummy! The drinks (Violet 75-outstanding) were professionally mixed with just the right sweetness & dryness. The service was also wonderful - very attentive and They even asked about the timing of our dishes coming out to ensure we weren't rushed. Had such a great dinner with friends at Red Cedar Bistro in Longmont on Good Friday! From the moment we sat down, the service was attentive without being over the top We started with the baked brie with almonds. Perfectly warm, flaky, and just the right balance of sweet and savory. For entrees, I had the Provençal Bourride (sea bass), which was light, fresh, and cooked beautifully. It was full of flavor without feeling heavy. My Husband ordered the lamb bolognese and really enjoyed it. It was the perfect comfort meal. Warm and had a lot of depth of flavor. Our friends ordered the Shrimp & Sausage Diavolo and the Winter Gnocchi, and both dishes got an A+ from them. This restaurant is super cute on the inside. You feel like you are transported into a cozy and relaxing atmosphere from the moment you step in. The staff are all friendly and so thoughtful too. My party of 3 was offered an extra appetizer on the house when we visited and it did not disappoint (baked brie in phyllo dough melted in our mouths). All of the food was fresh and unique too! I tried the mushroom truffle crepe, while my friends ordered a grain bowl and the chicken sandwich, along with their soup of the day. Service was excellent. The brunch menu has a lot of options. There were four of us; Two got the Mountain Combo which was a more traditional eggs, potatoes and meat breakfast. The red cedar Benedict was good. I always prefer bacon over ham so it was nice that this was how the dish was served. The hollandaise was really good. Would definitely order again. The Le Elvis Crepe looked great but unfortunately didn't hit the spot. The crepe was a little over cooked/burnt and over all a little dry and bland. We went on a double date with our friend who was celebrating a birthday. First time visit for all 4 of us. The server was wonderful (I wish I could remember his name) and the owner, Sandy, checked in with us periodically. We had good cocktails. We tried the Lamb Bolognaise and it was so good. The homemade pasta was thin and tender, the sauce was so good we wanted to lick the bowl. We also tried a Mediterranean Bowl- everything in it was wonderful with a great dressing to top it off. Solid B grade. I'm assuming they are a new restaurant as they seem overwhelmed and slightly unpolished. I enjoyed the sausage and pepper sandwich. Good, but dry. A side of sauce would have been great. Side salad Ceasars was unremarkable in every way. Again the service is spotty. I stopped in on a reconnaissance mission of sorts. I had contacted the owner before they opened about playing acoustic music for brunch, etc. The atmosphere is bright and inviting. Kacey was very attentive, somewhat of a rarity post Covid. The menu is varied. A welcome change for this town... I had the wild mushroom crepe appetizer. By far the best food and service in Longmont. A true hidden gem, and my wife and I have only begun to explore the menu. LOVE this place!!

My husband and I decided to go get a drink at a distillery that is near the Longmont theater where he has been rehearsing a show. I had had a terribly painful medical procedure done that evening. Got one drink each then crossed the street. Saw sign for red cedar bistro--- open doors. So went on in and we are glad we did! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable server Absolutely beyond Michelin star food . I got a mocktail and my husband got absent cocktail with Sage. Delicious. He got the lamb pasta, which was utterly out of this world. I got a brie crêpe with mushrooms-very good. we will definitely be back. Music was quiet. Tonight a friend and I went to the Christmas Eve dinner for Our Center at Red Cedar Bistro. We both had the crab stuffed sole. It was sublime. Huge chunks of crab inside succulent soft sole with a lemon buerre sauce. We both asked to change the sides and that was no problem for them. We had the dauphinois potatoes. They were rich and creamy. Plus an asparagus and carrot side. I despise cooked carrots but I decided to give it a try. Oh my. I loved the carrot. We both ordered desserts. Tiramisu for me and a decadent chocolate mousse creation for my friend. We had to take half of them home because they were so rich and yummy we couldn't finish them. Great service. Great owners. As my friends and family will tell you, I am not a fussy eater and like almost anything. We had eaten at the Red Cedar Bistro once before a few months ago, and thought it was good. Unfortunately, the meal I had there this time was the worst meal I have ever had at a restaurant. I had ordered a Fritatta, and here is what came to my table: The half of a strawberry was old and dried, it looked like it had been on an open counter for over a day. The up-side of the orange slice was dried out as well - it would take many hours on in the open to become this way. It truly looked like I was served the garbage from the day before. The Frittata flavor was awful, the eggs were still runny on the top. The flavors were strange and simply not good. My wife's dish had so much pesto on it that it overwhelmed the dish. She was unable to eat much of the meal. We had taken guests so I did not want to make a scene at the time, so I am writing to you now. I would be embarrassed to serve the food that we were served at your restaurant. I thought you should know. read more

I've heard a lot of raving about how wonderful the food is here. First, let me say the service was great! I had the gyro sandwich wrap for $16. It included a salad or French fries. The fries had a special name but I don't remember it. They weren't really fries. They were like home fries or small chunks of potatoes. Let me say they were awesome! On my god! The seasoning was wonderful. It had a tiny bit of heat in it. I'd go back there just for the fries. The sandwich was average. The lamb was a bit warm, and not hot like I was expecting. There wasn't any tzatziki sauce in it like stated it would have in the menu. The disappointing sandwich was not offset by the wonderful, spicy fries. Bummer. read more

Fine food, fine wine! Everything was very well executed. The wine is fantastic, the wine list is varied and has so many interesting and unique wines. If you get a chance to talk to Roland , he has encyclopedic knowledge of wine. The red sauce was rich and complemented the branzino very nicely. Veggie sides are kind of a litmus test to me. Great new place and very nice staff. Mixed kind of menu with lots of Mediterranean options. I had the Lamb Ragu but requested Parmesan instead of the Halloumi cheese that came with the dish as I thought that was a bit weird putting Halloumi on pasta. Girlfriend had the falafels as she veggie and thought they were excellent Finished up with a mixed fruit Galette and an Ouzo with an espresso. Great service, enjoyed it. Our first experience at Red Cedar Bistro was okay. We ordered a couple sandwiches, Gyro was highly recommended and a Sausage and Peppers. It was ok, not great, not awful. The pita was slightly burned in flavor, dry, and the onion ratio in the Gyro overpowered everything else, sadly. The Sausage and Peppers sandwich was good, meat was solid, needed more sauce and Peppers was our thought. You can tell it's better than average food in Longmont, we'll try it again to see if it was just an off night. Again, decent meal but for $60 with drinks- for sandwiches it could be better. I'been sick and could hardly speak, so Kim immediately offered me honey and lemon with my coffee and water. My husband had the huge, floppy, delicious gyro and the spicy lentil/chickpea soup. I had the shrimp and crab crepes, and they were outstanding--succulent, perfectly seasoned. For dessert, we shared vanilla gelato with a potent espresso liqueur. This is a delightful place. Fantastic! First time to this new restaurant on Main Street Longmont. Matt, our water was amazingly attentive and answered our questions expertly. Ordered the Mediterranean Bowl with Gyro meat added. So fresh and flavorful. The Vegan Spanakopita was beautiful and deliciously crispy. Dessert was the hazelnut chocolate truffle. Very deeply chocolately. Ask for a knife to cut through the truffle. My husband and I saw the sidewalk ad for brunch with breakfast crepes and decided to try this on a whim. We were pleasingly surprised by the quaint ambiance upon walking into this enchanting European-like Bistro new to Longmont. They have a full menu of crepes, along with many other entree items. We ordered the Shrimp Crêpes Mornay and WOW! The flavor of the white wine Gruyère cheese sauce paired with the flavor of the shrimp jumped off the plate! So savory and delicious. Then we ordered the Peach Foster Crêpe for dessert. There was plenty for us to share. Delicious rum caramel sauce and candied pecans with the fresh peaches and perfect texture of the crêpes was divine! We were both very impressed with the the combination of flavors. Add to that the soft Spanish guitar in the background and beautiful artwork on the wall, we can't wait to go back for dinner and try out their main entrees. This chef really knows what he's doing. Wait staff very attentive, helpful and friendly. Very timely delivery of food. The craft drinks are unique and refreshing with a pop of flavor. So happy to have a new Mediterranean restaurant on Main Street in Longmont. We highly recommend you check it out! Definitely 5 stars from us! read more
