My husband took me and my daughter to breakfast. Parking can be a challenge. My husband found a street spot a couple blocks away from the restaurant. We were welcomed in and seated. I chose the Eggs Your Way. I had two basted eggs, bacon, home fries, marbled rye and jam. Everything was hot and delicious. My husband ordered the exact same thing as I did. They have an eclectic and bright decor with their main color accent being their namesake. They offer a few gluten free dishes which is a thoughtful aspect that many restaurants are still sadly behind on. I tried an omelette with ham and goat cheese. The food is average. The service is terrible. I've eaten here a few times and every time I wait a long time for a small portion of food. The portions get smaller every time. I have to hunt down my server and ask for my check each time. There are plenty of nice places to go to in Lafayette besides Tangerine. read more

I ordered chilaquiles and was genuinely shocked by how bad they were, both in flavor and presentation. I took one bite and couldn't continue. The atmosphere is admittedly pleasant, but that's where the positives end. Don't come here for the food, the drinks, or the service. After explaining the issues, I left early and still left a $20 bill on the table out of courtesy. Instead of any acknowledgment or apology, staff chased me down outside to demand an additional $5 for the tab. Unprofessional, uncomfortable, and honestly appalling. Food: Was pretty good, I had the Swiss & Mushroom omelette. The flavors were pretty good, I really enjoyed the balsamic onions, it added a nice acidity that was needed. The mushrooms were well cooked and the Swiss was very cheesy! The pesto needed more acid, as it was overwhelmed by the flavor of the pine nut, ratio was a bit off for me. Also tried one of the pancakes (can't remember which one) which was very good, I believe it was either a pear or apple sauce on it with cinnamon butter which was delicious. The food has taken a serious turn for the worse. On a recent weekend, we had to send one of their Eggs Benedict dishes back twice because the egg yolks came out as solid yellow golf balls and the third attempt came out cold but we needed to get moving so we gave up. If a restaurant is going to have an entire extra menu of Eggs Benedict variations, the kitchen should know how to poach an egg. It's a skill, no doubt, but it's just not that hard. Front of the house staff was friendly and doing their best, but the kitchen and management just weren't supporting them. I didn't take the time to argue the point, but I was also kind of shocked that they didn't comp a dish that was sent back to the kitchen twice. This is the spot to go to if you're in Lafayette. They had breakfast and lunch options! We sat outside on the patio where there was plenty of shade and service was great. Would definitely go back for lunch! Right in the middle of downtown, lots of great people watching and just enjoying the fresh air! Street parking but it's free! read more

Tangerine hits the spot! I've seen the location in downtown Lafayette many times but hadn't been in until recently and chose it based off of the Yelp reviews I read. It did not disappoint, so thank you, Yelp friends for your helpful reviews LOL. I stopped in for brunch on a Friday morning I happened to have off of work before running errands around town. Parking around 11AM was pretty easy for me, but I could see that weekend breakfast and brunch rushes would probably make it a bit more challenging, so do keep that in mind when planning your visit. I was greeted by a woman that seemed like one of the managers the instant I walked through the doors and led to my table right away - zero wait. The young woman who would be my waitress then showed up a second later, despite the dining room being pretty busy for a weekday morning. I started with a cup of coffee while I took my time looking over the menu. I think that because of the time I arrived, I received both the breakfast and brunch menus, though I'm not sure if this is just standard for all visitors. Either way, definitely liked having the additional options to consider! I settled on the mushroom and swiss omelet - I love the mushroom and swiss combo on burgers and other foods, but the ingredient combo was super intriguing - balsamic onions, anyone? The meal also came with the option of toast or an english muffin; I chose the english muffin and added a side of potatoes because who doesn't like potatoes? Well, some people, but I am mos def not one of them lol. I settled into the booth to write down my grocery list and sip my coffee after ordering and it seemed as though my meal just appeared out of nowhere - it was ready so fast! The whole plate was piping hot and I could see the steam rising from the eggs. Hell yeah. One of my biggest pet peeves at restaurants is being served less than hot plates. The presentation was appetizing and the first few bites were superb - everything tasted super fresh and the flavors were delicious. The omelet, potatoes, and even the english muffin were all cooked and seasoned (or buttered lol) to perfection! It was a very filling meal that I enjoyed to the last bite. I was checked on regularly throughout my visit and had the coffee I was drinking warmed up a few times; I really appreciate the attentiveness of all the staff that I witnessed and do feel like it speaks so highly of the management and atmosphere of the restaurant. It's so nice to go out for a meal and feel that everyone present in the building - whether staff or customer - is enjoying their time and seems glad to be there. Tangerine is a gem! When I lived in Boulder I dined here for brunch on a handful of occasions. What I love the most about Tangerine is how they do their Corned Beef Hash! They take the time to prepare it. It's not canned which some restaurants serve you. The Corned Beef is served "cubed" with peppers and onions. I love how they sautée it before serving. If you enjoy Corned Beef Hash, I recommend trying Tangerine. To date, this is THE BEST I've had in the metro Denver area. During a recent trip to Boulder, I had brunch here. I went out of my way to dine here because that Corned Beef Hash is so good. Besides CBH, I ordered a pancake on the side. You may order the authentic maple syrup and not the candied (high fructose syrup) syrup that so many restaurants commonly serve. I believe that I asked for another serving of maple syrup and I wasn't charged for it. For this visit at the Lafayette location, I chose to sit on the outside patio rather than wait longer for a table at the inside dining area. It was a weekend and they were busy, of course. The only downside on this day is that the weather was a bit chilly. Service was fantastic! My waitress was very kind and polite. This made my meal extra special. I hope that she becomes a manager someday. If you haven't tried Tangerine yet, I recommend checking them out. Keep in mind the long wait times on the weekends. Plan ahead accordingly. Also, parking is only on the side streets of if you're lucky, you may find a spot on the Main Street. I wish they had a Tangerine down in Castle Rock. Looking forward to that next Tangerine visit! Clean tables, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The corn beef hash is some of the best, if not the THE BEST I've ever had. Thick savory cuts, with bacon and onion. The potatoes are zesty not spicy. When I visit again I'll definitely order the full dish. The Reuben sandwich was top notch as well. It was a savory, filling sandwich. They also have a Reuben Benedict! Along with an incredible variety of other, new and traditional Benedict's. There is definitely something for everyone here. It's no wonder Tangerine is a popular breakfast place, the food is inventive and delicious. I had the corn beef hash. Large chunks of juicy corn beef and chunks of crispy potatoes. The pickles seemed weird but they were actually good with the meal. Eggs over easy were cooked perfectly. My friend ordered the pear sauce French toast. That's her go to meal. We had a family breakfast here while visiting CO the 1st time. It was pretty busy, and according to (local) family, it usually is, so we opted to sit out on the patio since the weather was nice. I had the house lemonade and BLR Pancakes (blueberry, lemon and ricotta pancakes, with blueberry sauce), which were both delicious. Service was not super fast, but was definitely within a reasonable time given how busy they were. Husband took me here for Mother's Day breakfast. Probably not the smartest move as they were very busy and service was terrible. We waited a long time for our food and when my omelet came out it was not only the wrong omelet but it was cold. The server was so busy that she and no one else ever came back to check on things. I've been to Tangerine in Boulder several times and always had a decent experience. I'm a bit reluctant to go back to the Lafayette location as going out for breakfast is not really our thing - more of a special occasion. This place is very hit or miss. While I've previously had some delicious (and some simply "okay") meals, today was very disappointing. The puttanesca "scramble" I ordered arrived as a disc of scrambled eggs topped with mostly raw chunks of garlic and onions, along with a pile of capers and olives. Luckily I was able to easily push all of the toppings to the side and eat the eggs. Based on the pictures of this dish from other reviews, I think my dish was not made correctly. My husband had the mozzarella and chorizo omelet special. While his food was definitely more edible, he had the same raw garlic and onions. Overall, it felt like there were either some cooks in training in the back or the standards had been relaxed. WOW! Went in randomly on a whim and so glad I did. I am a HUGE eggs Benedict gal and they came in hot with some delish options. Never in my life had I seen an egg benny that was basically thanksgiving inspired and man was I excited to try it out. My only complaint is about the prices, I wish they'd include the potatoes ($2.99) to the omelettes, especially considering there's really nothing special about them (tasted quite bland to me) and I noticed that once I added all the extras on my iced vanilla latte with soy, when you take into account tax and tip, it brings it to $7 (and no, they don't add any booze to help swallow the steep bill).
