Holiday Inn Express & Suites - El Dorado - They don't know how to clean that is for damn sure!

Booked hotel as we have stayed here a few years back. After checking in and unpacking we went into…read morethe bathroom and saw the nasty tub! Went downstairs and before I could finish my sentence the front desk was like yah we know the bathrooms need updated! Showed me other rooms and they were all the same. Had to work that night so we couldn't just leave and get a different hotel. Went swimming and the pool water was FREEZING!!! Got told that they knew the pool was cold as tge heater is too small for the pool. Now keep in mind this pool is very small! On the morning of our check out we get woke up to fire alarm going off! We evacuate, get to main floor and just smell burnt toast! Won't be back!!!!!

Haven't even stayed there yet and the staff is completely incompetent. Had two rooms booked for…read moreFriday and one booked for Saturday. Have the emails to prove it with no cancellation emails given, but told that the room for Saturday is not available. Talked to 3 different people. Was not allowed to talk to the manager even though the staff member did. Rerouted to a wrong number totally unrelated to the Holiday Inn and hung up on once (from the hotel itself) Asked for the manager's name and that is when the phone went dead (well... not completely, they thought they had hung up the phone, but could hear talking). Offered to send the emails that stated our confirmation numbers and also that show in BLACK AND WHITE that a room was reserved for Saturday. They did not want this information. They wanted to transfer the phone call yet again which obviously leads to NOWHERE! Whatever happened to good customer service? When you can talk to a manager and get answers to your questions. What good is an email with a confirmation and dates when they are not honored? We were also told when we asked the manager to call us, we were told, that they cannot make outgoing phone calls. HMMMMMMMM..... I guess if there is a fire, you better call yourself because they can't make outgoing phone calls. What a crock! This is the type of runaround you get when you talk with a company that does not want to answer your questions, they just want to get rid of you. Well... guess what, we will be there this coming Friday for our stay and be RIGHT THERE to show you the email that states we have a room for Saturday night. You won't be able to hang up on us then, will you? You can try to escape a phone call, it is a lot more difficult to escape a person face to face. Since you wouldn't give your name over the phone or the manager's name, we will be in person asking for that to make sure that we let the corporate office know. Oh and if you read this review and decide to take the day off, don't think we won't pursue talking to your superiors.

Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham El Dorado - Breakfast Area

I chose to stay at this Days Inn based on positive reviews, but unfortunately, my experience was…read moreextremely disappointing. I had booked the room through Booking.com while on the road. In the rush, I mistakenly selected "2 adults" instead of including my 2 children in the occupancy, though I booked a room with 2 queen beds, which clearly accommodates four people. When I arrived after 10 PM, the front desk staff was not welcoming, no smile, no pleasantries, she seemed bothered that I wanted to check in. She asked, "Two adults?" The kids were in the car, but I immediately corrected her and realized m omission. She instantly became combative and accused me of lying and trying to cheat the hotel out of money. I calmly apologized for the oversight and asked how to correct it. I even checked the app and confirmed the price didn't change when updating the occupancy--but she insisted that was wrong and chastised me for "lying," repeatedly saying I had to pay per person because it's "more work for housekeeping." I tried to de-escalate and even apologized, again, thinking maybe she was just having a bad day, to which she snapped, "I wasn't until you lied." I was shocked at how personally she took what was an honest mistake despite my willingness to correct it. She brought up an issue about emergencies--saying in a disaster, they wouldn't know to look for four people. I agreed that's valid and asked to update the record. She didn't seem to know how at first, then eventually updated it, yet still claimed it was "a problem" because it wasn't "written on the sheet," so I wrote it down, but she continued criticizing me. If I were trying to deceive anyone, I wouldn't have openly told her about the kids. I genuinely felt like I was being profiled and treated with suspicion since she seemed to have an issue with me from the start. She refused to give me her name or the manager's contact information, and only referred to me as "lady" throughout. It was incredibly uncomfortable and upsetting--it was 10 minutes of her treating me with utter disdain. I tried to cancel through Booking.com, but they said it would require the hotel's cooperation, and since she was the only staff on-site, I didn't feel safe pushing further. We ended up staying, but I didn't get much rest because I was so hurt and confused. I followed up with the morning manager, Purva, who was initially vague about her role but later revealed she and her husband were the new owner-managers. When I raised concerns about how I was treated during check-in, she reiterated the policy with regard to needing an accurate count for the room--which I agreed with and never disputed--but she failed to address the disrespect I experienced. She even told me that the staff member had been there several years and "she was just particular" about things which seemed like her excusing this unacceptable behavior. The staff member involved was openly rude, again, this time in front of the manager, refused to apologize, and even brought in three housekeeping staff in what felt like an attempt to intimidate me. While the manager eventually refunded my stay, the resolution felt like an afterthought. Basic improvements like staff name tags, a visible manager contact, and clear expectations for respectful guest treatment are urgently needed. The hotel was exceptionally clean, convenient, and updated, but the unnamed woman (probably in her 60s, permed/wavy platinum blond hair and bangs with blue eyes and glasses) who was so incredibly hateful make it not worthwhile. Also, there were no secondary locks on our door which was odd. As someone who goes out of their way to be honest and follow the rules, this experience felt humiliating, unfair, and unwelcoming. I cannot recommend this hotel, and I will not be returning.

Do not stay at this hotel!! The staff was extremely rude and unprofessonal! Upon checking in, the…read moreman told me multiple times that if I brought a pet to the hotel I would be fined $250 (eventhough I told him our dog was boarded in a different city and we didn't bring him). He also told us multiple times that if we were caught smoking on the premises that we would be fined $250 (even after I repeadedly told him I'm a non smoker). Then I go to the room and find that the kitchen isn't equipped with anything. I booked this room because 1) it had a pool and 2) I was planning to cook dinner. But it's hard to cook anything in a kitchen without utensils, pots, pans or plates. Why advertise that you have a kitchen in the room when they expect you to go purchase or bring everything with you? I came in town with my mother and son to visit with my sister and her family for the holidays. There were 3 of us booked in the room. I brought my son, niece, and nephew to the pool so my son could have someone to play with. My mother and I were not planning to swim. The manager yelled at us and told us they couldn't swim because they didn't have rooms there. He continued yelling at all of us and the kids saying that they couldn't have all of El Dorado there having a party and staying the night and eating all their food in the morning. I told him that they weren't there to stay the night just to swim for a bit before we did presents. He dismissed us saying yeah yeah sure, I'm sure they will all be here in the morning. Needless to say, we packed everyone up and headed to my sisters apartment to cook and open presents since the environment was so hostile. I did end up taking my son swimming later in the evening without the rest of the family. As we were leaving we noticed that there were no towels in the swimming area. We had to go to the front desk to ask for towels and almost slipped and fell. The front desk attendent told us they keep the towels in the gym. As we were heading in the next morning, just the three of us, we checked out the breakfast selection which was included in our stay. It was cheap and very lacking in selection. None of us ended up eating anything.
