Service was good, and food came out fast. I liked the onion soup that came with the hibachi dinner. BF had steak and shrimp, and I just had the steak hibachi. Steak was perfectly cooked, veggies were okay, slightly overcooked, and the fried rice was decent. Although the beef was tender, it was lacking the savory umami taste and missing the slightly sweet flavor profile from mirin. It wasn't bad but not great either. Then we shared the beef lomein; the lomein was delicious, but the beef didn't have much taste. Overall, passable for Asian fusion. read more

We chose Pangea because we were quite hungry and knew the food was good. Pangea didn't disappoint. I started with a perfect Cosmopolitan. Yes. They serve alcohol. My partner has simple Asian tastes and the accommodated her needs well with a vegetable dish and rice. I chose Red curry. We finished with a shared piece of chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Everything was excellent. The service also made us quite happy. She was quite attentive, even though she was busy. Inside the building which doesn't look great, is a warm inviting atmosphere. Most likely, this place will forever be remembered as "the old Shoneys" by any native Danvillian over 50. In fact, upon entry, I immediately had a hankering for a Big Boy Burger and their famous hot fudge sundae, but alas... Our party of six ate lunch here for the first time recently and found the food to be just okay at best. However, the portions were huge, the service was friendly and attentive, and the joint was very clean and tastefully decorated. Three of us ordered the Teriyaki Chicken. It was served with rice and veggies, which were okay. The chicken, however, was very dry. Overall, I give this joint an A for effort, but a C+ for food quality. So I normally refrain from complaints. Had dinner at Pangea in Danville tonight. Taste of food was great. Experience needed some help. Tried to order the " 2 sushi rolls for $25" and they were both on the same page but that wasn't allowed? Ok so I ordered the Hawaiian salad which had steamed shrimp and Kani(crab meat). It had Kani but no shrimp. I asked and was told it doesn't come with shrimp. So I asked for the menu and showed that it did. I'm still ok at this point because mistakes happen. I get the check and I ask about it again at the cashier/ manager and she quickly tells me another server saw the shrimp put on the side of the bowl. I have not asked for a discount or raised my voice through the entire experience. Just pointing out their mistake. Still tipped the server and was friendly to her the entire time. But the attitude of the cashier/ manager I will not tolerate. Still not the first thank you for your business, I'm sorry, or any type of concern. So make sure you watch your orders and know that they really don't care about their customers. read more

A nice place if you need a sushi, sashimi, hibachi, or Thai fix! Its a huge menu! The restaurant isn't much to look at from the outside but the inside is very nice and the food is great. The waitress was very friendly and brought out our food quickly and also made sure we knew the kitchen appetizers were half price. Wasn't sure if that was because it was July 4th or it was a Tuesday. The presentation of the meals were very attractive and portions were quite large. Definitely will be back to eat their delicious coconut soup, Izmani salmon dish and fried goyzo dumplings. read more

Enormous menu, and so far, everything is done well. It's not common for a place with so many options to actually be good at all of them. The waitress was very attentive and quick to get answers for my wife's special dietary needs. I guess that is why we love this place. read more

I definitely recommend Pangea Asian Fusion! I came here about two weeks after they opened. In that time, I heard nothing but good reviews. And still I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The decor inside was great, loved the faux cherry trees! It was very clean inside as well. The service was good as well. The servers very very attentive and working hard. They offer Chinese, Japanese Hibachi, Sushi, and Thai food. This is very attractive when you're craving some Asian food but unsure of which specific cuisine! Maybe you can get some of each! My sushi and noodles were good. I would definitely say they are on par with other restaurants in town that serve sushi, if not slightly better. Great presentation on the plates as well, which is not expected at all, but a nice touch. Go check them out! This has already become my go-to spot for sushi in town. Just wish that the waitstaff could be a little stronger when it comes to getting order substitutions correct, it has happened almost every time we've gone as my husband likes to substitute noodles instead of rice, it never makes it out on the first try. All in all Pangea is pretty good, and offers a good variety of Asian cuisine. The Red Curry is my personal favorite and has the most complex flavor of any of the dishes I've had there. The scallops were very thin appearing like someone cut them in thirds (thickness) and the filet turned out to be rib eye(chewy) but was charged for the filet-$31.00 for the entree. I'll only be reviewing sushi here, because it is the one type of food that has eluded Danville for so very long. I have been to Pangea 8 times now, and I feel like I've ordered enough variety off the sushi menu to give my opinion on it overall. This place is simply a blessing to a sushi lover like myself that lives in the area. For years I had to travel out of town no less than an hour to get real, legitimate sushi. There's been places in town that sell what they call sushi, but it isn't even close to the real deal and can honestly be bested by sushi you'd find at 7/11 with tomorrow's expiration date printed on it. Pangea's sushi selection is massive and I would estimate I've tried 70% of what they offer. I have throughly enjoyed every bite I've taken and can honestly say they're on par with the best sushi spots I've ever been to. It only helps that the restaurant itself has a very warm and calm ambience to it, and the service is top notch as well. If sushi isn't your thing and you've read this far, they do offer a massive selection of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai entrees, and while I have no experience with any of that to offer, I would hazard to guess it's well worth a try. If you've been to any of the "sushi" spots Danville had before Pangea came along, and actually enjoyed it, then you owe it to yourself to sit down at Pangea and see what the real deal is. read more
