I arrived at the height of the busy time and while waiting to be seated was told by several locals that I had made a very good choice. They recommended the Sirloin for Two, I was alone, but got it anyway due to several additional recommendations. Hey, it became THREE steak dinners and they were GREAT! The owner came by and spoke to me, asked how I had located his business, I told him of the restaurant that had given me my dinner options and spoke so highly of his establishment. Unlimited, well stocked salad bar, not just lettuce but interesting and unusual items. Spiced pickles? Yum! I was too full for dessert but others nearby said all desserts are made ON SITE! Many patrons were partaking and the desserts looked good. I plan to return here next time I'm in the area.

So I don't know if it was because I was in dress shorts and nice short or had tattoos. First time I've felt to be discriminated because of my tattoos. Will never visit again and will not recommend. Horrible service, the host was barely understandable and my wife even asked me if she heard what she thought she heard. Horrible experience. I'm not a low life but felt like treated as one. On our first visit, we had Kristi as our server and she was fantastic. When we decided to return, we specifically requested Kristi again, and the restaurant made it happen. It was so nice to see her again, and once again, her service was excellent. She really helps make the experience special. For appetizers, we ordered the crab claws and lobster shooters. Both were delicious and a great way to start the meal. For my entrée, I ordered the duck breast, which I had also enjoyed on our first visit. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't quite as good. The duck was fattier and had a different texture than I remembered. It came with broccolini, which was very salty and undercooked. The blue cheese hash browns, however, were very good. The other entrée was the redfish. He felt the fish was overcooked, and the asparagus was also undercooked and overly salty. Even with some inconsistencies with the food on this visit, I want to reiterate that the service was outstanding. Kristi was wonderful, and we really appreciated the restaurant honoring our request to have her again. Hopefully, our next visit brings the same food experience we had the first time!

Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill delivered with a nice side of nostalgia. We started with an appetizer of Cheese Sticks. We then followed that up with some burgers. I got the Livingston's Burger, which was delicious, while my brother got the Ole Tyme Burger. And as if the burgers weren't enough, these burgers were served with a mountain of delicious fresh-cut fries. But the best part of our meal was at the end, when we were convinced to get two milkshakes, one for each of us. And I'm glad we did, as these were the most delicious milkshakes we had in quite a while, and I was sipping on mine all the way back to our hotel. In short, if you find yourselves traveling through Brownsville and have the time for a proper meal, I strongly recommend you take the detour away from the Interstate to stop at Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill, and don't forget dessert, because it is the best part here. And if we find ourselves traveling through Brownsville around lunch or dinner time again, we will definitely come back to Livingston's Soda Fountain & Grill again.
