‍‍ We were driving home to Nashville after a fun weekend in Memphisand came across this quaint sophisticated gem in Jackson not far from the interstate (~15 min) open on a Sunday night. Intimate, beautifully set artistic ambiance Kindly checked with us that we were were okay with a limited Sunday evening menu before seating us. Nice amount of choices still available. Sunday menu could be updated with descriptions if I could offer my opinion! We got the burger- TASTY! ! Came with shoestring ish fries- ALSO TASTY! ! We also got 4 raw oysters- YUM - and would ask for horseradish to add to the green chili hot sauce they have on them- also The elderflower cocktail was cant remember the name! The wedge salad was also -get extra buttermilk ranch! And those cherry tomatoes yes please. For dessert, we got the Biscotti cookie butter and bberry custard cup- like a soft peanut butter and jelly gone classy take called Pot De Creme or Pot something- errmerrgerd. Needed more. Amazing! Looked at their reservation times tonight on their website well before they cutoff, no problem with reservations. I didn't make one because of that. My wife and I showed up dressed nicely, I had dress shorts, nice button shirt and Olakai flip flops. Host asked if we had reservations and I responded with when I checked we didn't really needed any. He went and spoke to someone and then came back and said they would try to work us in. That went for about two minutes and then he said we could not be seated. So I don't know if it was because I was in dress shorts and nice short or had tattoos. First time I've felt to be discriminated because of my tattoos. Will never visit again and will not recommend. Horrible service, the host was barely understandable and my wife even asked me if she heard what she thought she heard. Horrible experience. I'm not a low life but felt like treated as one. If you have a strict dress code, post it online and I'll follow. It's Jackson, Tn! No need to get extremely formal! read more

I'm going to be honest. The food was great, and the staff were nice; however, their portion-to-price range was terrible. I got their pasta of the day, which today, was some kind of pasta with sun-dried tomatoes and lobster. I understand that lobster is expensive, and you normally don't get a lot of it- which is fine. However, my pasta bowl consisted of about 10-15 pieces of pasta. My fiance got their iberico pork chop, and it came with a lot of food, and it was great. However, paying $30 for food and leaving hungry is not ideal, especially after this was supposed to be an anniversary meal, and I was extremely excited to try this new place. read more

The restaurant is nice, in a city that has limited "nice" restaurants. I call it nice because the price point is that of Ruth Chris with no sides and a very limited menu. Went on a solo date. Fast seating at the bar from an attentive host/front of house. Bartender was kind- although we didn't speak much. I started with a Negroni and he later suggested a simple gin up. I ordered hushpuppies and the steak frites. Everything was salty - So very salty. It was the only 'flavor'. Steak could be cut with a butter knife but you needed lots of water to wash it down. I'm genuinely grateful that Jackson finally has an upscale restaurant committed to food lovers. We've been three times now, and the quality has been consistently strong. Standouts include the quail, whatever the burger of the moment is, the surprisingly excellent Thai-infused sweet potato salad, the charred prawns, steak frites, and the mint gelato. I am really impressed by how frequently the menu rotates to leave room for experimentation and surprise, and I hope that continues. We also appreciate the intentional nonalcoholic offerings, including some harder-to-source beers and a genuinely good NA prosecco. Service is solid and the ambience works well. The space itself may not compete with the multi-investor restaurant groups in Nashville or Memphis, but for Jackson it's extremely well-appointed and makes the most of what it has. My one significant gripe is portion size. I'm not a big eater, and neither are the five different people I've dined with there...but every time, we finish all our plates and leave wishing there had been more. I understand that upscale dining often favors restraint and intention, but I still expect to leave a restaurant feeling satisfied, not hungry again an hour later. A bit more heft on most of the plates would go a long way, especially in a climate like Jackson. In the end, though, this restaurant feels like a real step forward for Jackson: thoughtful, well-executed, and consistent enough to earn repeat visits. read more
