I usually have a pretty good experience here. Went in for a takeout order, double order of home fries. Took some time to get cooked, but the thing that took me off guard was they charged me for two to-go platters and put everything in on to-go platter. Lesson learned, do not order take out. I love Bonwood. They have the best breakfast in town. They don't always have chocolate meringue pie but when they do, it is so good on Mondays they have spaghetti that's one of my favorites too. If you go there ask for Brooke she'll make you smile, even if you're having a bad day. read more

Food was ok but was difficult to eat after going to the bathroom to wash my hands and the sink apparently had not been cleaned in a long time. Tried cleaning it after drying my hands it was so bad. The women's room was filthy. It was not ADA compliant. Because there were no grab bars near the tiny toilet, I was actually stranded there for ten minutes not being able to stand up due to my severe arthritis. I finally was able to use my cane to knock on the door across the room, which I had locked and tested since it's in the middle of the dining room, and my husband came to help and walked right into the restroom through the door with a BROKEN LOCK--making me visible to anyone who cared to look. OK, it is not the cleanest. And it looks its age (It's what's left of a truck stop from the 1950's). We missed the daily lunch special and didn't want breakfast items, so we opted for the simple cheeseburger. Nothing fancy but it was good, served quickly, and was cheap. aint much to look at but, at 25 or 6 to 4 in the morning it was a welcome oasis. portions were generous, eggs were cooked right, sausage was delicious, hashbrowns were crispy and THE MEAL WAS PIPING HOT when served! biscuits and gravy were perfect, biscuits were baked perfectly, not semi raw inside. my only gripe is, no decent place to park an 18 wheeler. waffle house is about a half a mile away, this place buries it. i work in the area infrequently but in the wee hours when i finish up i'll eat breakfast there. did i mention they give you 3 eggs? read more
