Having been working at Red Elephant for only two weeks, Celeste provided the best table service that I have received at a Dothan restaurant. Period! The ambiance was pleasant with unusual original artwork on the walls and oldies background music. I never felt rushed to complete my meal. I was in search for wings and Red Elephant was recommended to me by a friend and Yelp. I loved the decor that has a modern feel to it. There are a few TVs. At one time, it was a Godfathers Pizza, a place I went to a lot as a child and teenager. It blows my mind to see how much it had changed. The menu at Red Elephant is very diverse. Choices range from hummus, wings, salad, sandwiches, hamburgers, and pizza. I saw a few items I want to try for next time. My friend ordered the hummus. This was the best hummus I have had out of about the 10 times I have had hummus from a restaurant. They topped it with red pepper chutney and the pita chips that came with it was special. They were special because they were soft, topped with cheese, and some kind of spice. I ordered 12 traditional wings and Red Elephant receives mad props for allowing me to choose as many flavors as I want! I chose 3 Carolina Gold and Honey BBQ, and 2 of Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Sriracha, and Lemon Pepper. Out of the 5 flavors I tried, I thought the Carolina Gold was the best. It is a mustard BBQ sauce and the thickest of the sauces I chose. The Garlic Parmesan was dipped in garlic and topped with cheese. It is not like the Buffalo Wild Wing sauce. The Sweet Sriracha had the sweet part but had little heat. The Lemon Pepper tasted like it sounds. The Honey BBQ was weak in my opinion. Overall, the wings were hot, fresh, wet just as I like it, but the sauces needed more flavor except for the Carolina Gold. Sweet tea was freshly brewed and refreshingly sweet! I will like to come back to Red Elephant to try more of their menu. The wings were satisfying but I would rate them below Buffalo Wild Wings, Zaxby's, and Goldfingers. I still have to try Beef O'Brady's and Things and Wings in my quest for best wings in Dothan. read more

Wow, did we fall upon a gem! We evac'd from Tampa (Hurricane Milton) & found ourselves in Dothan, AL (Tallahassee was literally booked full) and we had such a great time! As we tried to figure out the circle roads, we passed the Red Elephant and it just spoke to me. So we tried it (along with boiled peanuts for the first time, they're interesting...) - the pizza was AMAZING! To the point, we almost went back the next night! I wanted to love this place as it's a local establishment and not a chain, but it just missed the mark. As always, we do takeaway and acknowledge this isn't the BEST way to enjoy a meal, but is still a way to enjoy a meal and have had plenty of meals blow us out of the water as takeaway. A couple things that we felt could have been done better - let's talk red onions. A straight up side salad is either great or lackluster leaving you wishing you had opted for the less healthy alternative. Wish these would have been soaked to lessen the punch of the fact you're biting into a raw onion. Secondly- wish these would have been diced, or chopped, or at least a half julienne. They were as thick as onion ring slices, and as most would agree, biting into a half inch thick raw red onion isn't pleasant - entrees; pasta yaya and blackened chicken. much left to the imagination. Have you seen the frozen lean cuisines, the chicken Alfredo with broccoli? yes- thats the pasta yaya. Familiar with these from my childhood; theres little difference in taste. My husband had the blackened chicken pasta. In summary, both tasted as jar sauces. Definite room for improvement, and a fine example of just because you can, doesn't mean you should. - price; see above. $16/these entrees even in these times of inflation doesn't feel right. read more

The pizzas here are pretty good along with their salads! Anything else is just ehh. My one biggest complaint is the pricing. The pizza is cheaply priced but anything else is kinda outrageous. First time we went we dined in. It was good, a bit like what they call Ohio style pizza. Yesterday we ordered a large with 4 toppings to go. It wasn't very hot when we picked it up. Had to heat it up when we got home. Barely any toppings. Literally 6 pieces of pepperoni and from the outer third, no ingredients. That and some garlic bread, $37. Went here to try for the first time with some friends last week. The table got pickle fries and bacon cheese fries for appetizers. The bacon cheese fries were pretty tasty and pickle fries didn't disappoint. The table got wings, pizza and pasta for there dinners and me and my wife got side salads as well. My Caesar salad had too much dressing on it but they brought me a new one when I mentioned it. The pizza is good but not great. All iceberg, a few grape tomatoes, a few rings of red onion some egg, bacon, croutons cheese, and cucumbers. The chicken was grilled fresh and was still hot. It was juicy and tender.
