I was looking for a good roast beef sandwich in Dothan. I asked a few friends and they recommended this place. Everyone called it "Italian Express" and from some of the menu, I see why. Anyway, I ordered the roast beef sandwich, fries with gravy and an iced tea. It was exactly what I was wanting. I could have eaten a second sandwich with no problem. The nice lady who waited on me was super sweet and it didn't take long for her to bring me my food. I will definitely go back. ...probably next week when I'm back down there. read more

Best lunch spot in the city. Hands down. If your looking for that small town , friendly face, is my grandmother in the back cooking? restaurant then this place is for you. My favorite is the roast beef sandwich but other people in my family prefer the fried chicken. Somehow in that kitchen, they have been able to capture that 1980's fried chicken in a skillet taste. It does not look like much from the road but don't miss this place. It was well worth it. Good heavy lunch you won't leave hungry. Not grease pit either. Roast beef sandwich is a "can't go wrong" meal, but I was just as happy with the lasagna. Came with slice of cheese bread and drink (Pepsi-- wish they offered Coke) for less than ten bucks. Spaghetti looks good but haven't had it yet. I regret not giving this place a chance sooner. Judge not! You'll love it. Open lunch and Friday night. read more

Excellent little mom and pop diner for the Dothan area. Some of the most genuinely kind hearted owners you will meet. Nothing fancy, just good food and great people! The roast beef hoagie is amazing and the pizzas are delicious as well! For the price, this place is hard to beat. Excellent value and extremely family friendly. read more

This place is just terrible. The sandwiches are just okay, but the lasagna is an absolute disaster in your mouth. Stouffers frozen lasagna is 10x better then this. The building is run down and the service is okay with a bit of teenager attitude. We tried tonight to give them another chance and we were let down once again. My money will go to other restaurants from now on. I give this place a D+ as a total package. read more

Great Food! I love the lasagna, bbq hoagie, and thin crust pizza! The spaghetti sauce is awesome. Very family friendly, great service, and inviting atmosphere. I think it's been in business 25 or more years, so the food speaks for itself, USM C. However, USM C, I understand that you probably would prefer a restaurant that serves alcohol to aide in relieving the pain that bug up your anus is causing you. read more

We travel through Dothan on our way to Florida often. This is a local secret. Now don't get me wrong this is not white table cloths or fine french cuisine. It is a bargain for good food. Spaghetti was excellent and chicken was good. I think that is about all that is on the menu. The bill for both of us averages around $14. I don't think they even have a sign out front but I can tell you the place is packed at night plus their drive through business (yes that's right) is almost non-stop. First off, I WOULD probably be giving this place a 5 star review, except that my experience with this restaurant was with a takeout meal that my husband brought me, so I haven't been inside the actual restaurant to know the level of cleanliness or professionalism with which it is run. However I had such an enjoyable experience with the takeout meal that I DID feel it warranted a review. I had chicken fingers and they were piled so high I couldn't finish them all, and I can eat A LOT! They use an unusual seasoning that made them unique and not your average run of the mill chicken tender taste. I believe it was some type of homemade italian seasoning. They gave me tons of homemade ranch dressing and it was delicious! I cannot WAIT to visit in person as my husband says it was extremely affordable and that they did not charge extra for extra sauce. That is important to me because I am a sauce fiend. The sweet tea was also delicious and obviously fresh! read more

Small, squat, non-desript building, not much to look at, very little signage, a train themed, decorated in early afterthought, do not let this deter you! Some of the best food around!! The fried chicken takes you back to memaws on sunday afternoon, fresh fried, crispy, crunchy, juicy, seasoned flour just enough that it actually enhances flavor of bird, not mask! The spaghetti sauce is slow cooked and tastes like it has been simmering for hours, chunked full of meat and tomatoey, your spoon will stand alone! This is also the sauce used in lasagna, layered with perfectly tender noodles and cheese after cheese layer, resulting in a ooey, gooey, stringy, concoction that cannot be beat. The subs are stuffed with thinly sliced meats and packed with a blend of cheeses, baked to a golden brown and served with some o the best crinkle fries ever tasted, salty and hot! The roast beef sub deserves mention, as I usuall stay away from this as most places serve a sub of fat, gristle and chewy things that ant be identified. Not here. The beef is thin thin, lean, perfectly cooked. And more cheese! This place is probably not for those on a diet, although I have seen the salads and they are huge! But I can graze at home, I want something that gives comfort and fills me up, and this is the spot. Have not been disappointed yet, and I am slowly working through the menu!! If you are looking for hoity toity, fancy dancy, wont find it here. At lunch when the place is booming, confusion reigns supreme. A bigger building and more staff are needed.
