Fun brewery in Fillmore! We stopped in Sunday afternoon and there was a live DJ and a bookstore pop up out front. We ordered ice cold mugs of savory and spicy Micheladas and IPAs, garlic knots, a turkey club sandwich, and a pepperoni pizza. Our drinks were delicious and I loved the garlic knots and turkey club. The garlic knots app was more food than anticipated and was so cheesy. The turkey club had crunchy bacon and a spicy chipotle dressing. I was also impressed by their expansive drink menu - they offered plenty of wine and kombucha in addition to their beers. read more

A pit stop on our way home from Santa Barbara. So glad we visited. Good beer, good food and good service. Walk up to order your food and drinks. We caught a flight of ipas and pepperoni pizza. I liked the Probie Blondie best. The pizza sauce was amazing and the dough and pepperoni...delicious! Ambiance is your typical brewery, big, lots of seating, music playing and loud conversations. The parking was easy and since it was not peak hour, there were only couple of tables beside us. They have large seating area and pretty cool decor. We order two pitchers of beer, fried chicken wings and nacho. I think chicken wings come out of farmer John's bag and they add some of their twist flavors. Portion on the nachos was great. We drove quite a while to get here but so did probably everyone else because it is in Fillmore. Parking was full when we arrived, just as the show was getting ready to start. When we went in we waited in line for a long while to order. There were other employees but for some reason they didn't open another register for quite some time. When I finally ordered I went to pay and they don't take cash. This is a pet peeve of mine but I just went with it as I was on a date. We found a high table and sat in very uncomfortable chairs. Note: get there early and get the lower tables. After waiting a while for our food I went and asked. They then informed me that I was to retrieve it from another part of the establishment. When I got the food it was not very warm but still tasted good. The show was great. The two performers were funny and put on a good show. My only gripe is when people would pay $10-40 for a song and the performers would do a little then ask for more money to change the song. That discouraged me from submitting our papers. We will definitely return again as we had a good time and now we will know how the place operates. read more

Red Engine Brewing Company is one of the best breweries in Ventura County. With so many choices in the county, that is saying a lot, I know. But their go-to beers like Low Viz and El Jefe are some of the best pours in the region. Their new brew, Big Red, is not for the lightweights. Its color and flavor bring out the best in microbrewing. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The Owners always go the extra mile to make you feel welcome when they are there. And let's not forget some of their themed nights. One of my favorites is the 5 Alarm Trivia. The hosts are local and are fun. They bring in the crowd with their personalities. If you find yourself in SoCal and in Ventura County, this is a must-stop for some great food and amazing brew. read more

Entering the establishment was a bit breathtaking. The interior is huge, so I had to stand still for a moment to do a 270° visual review. This place has a nice combination of modern style and historic charm. Erin greatest ass with a warm smile and was knowledgeable about the menu and the taps, making good recommendations. Our food came out of timely fashion, we have the chicken nachos and they were both visually appealing and delicious. We were there for a karaoke night with Steve Sharp and everyone see me having a fantastic time. The bathroom is where well designed and very clean. First visit. Being a retired fire person myself, I was looking forward to the visit. We ordered chips, guacamole and salsa with an alcoholic beverage. 20 min wait for our order. Salsa and guacamole were very tasty but portion size was not enough for two people. Decorations were simple. Fire truck was pretty cool. A cool patch wall for visitors to show off their department and a few more tools on the walls would add some cool Features. We will return to try out the pizza and churros fries. Tons of parking and I love me a family friendly brewery. It has a little space in the back, called the Container where there are arcades, a mini library, etc. They do not accept cash, but will provide quarters for the arcades. I did enjoy my beer and my burrata salad. I do want to come back here to possibly rent out for a party and they have many fun events here! I think my only suggestion would be to update the future schedules online (I do follow on Instagram). read more

Stopped here randomly on a Monday night drive home from a weekend get away. Not from the area at all, but was BLOWN AWAY! The pizza was amazing and the beer delicious. I came here with my friends for cinco de Mayo as there was a car show going on that day. They have a big inside with plenty of tables and chairs to sit on, there's no outside but because there was a car show they let us bring our drinks outside in the designated area. They have digital menus to read the drinks, I liked how they had a handful of gluten free options so I got the POG kombucha on tap by Juneshine. It's so much better then in a can, I came back for a second one. They also served pizzas and chicken wings but unfortunately none of the pizzas were gluten free, which really is a bummer considering they have gf drinking options. I feel that they have taken shortcuts/ lowered their standards. I went about two months ago and I was extremely disappointed. The fire engine by the dining area is very cool. However, the tv isn't mounted near the bar top like any other bar/brewery, but instead above the door. This means that whenever you want to watch the tv, you have to crane your neck to the right and squint just to see anything. The ordering system is a little confusing as well. I sat down at the bar, but then was instructed to wait in line for my first drink, and then I could order at the bar. When I finally got my first beer I was told that my first beer would be a can. They were all extras from an event that they had. I understand wanting to get rid of extra product, but it just came off as very tacky. Apparently you need to be a "member" in order to receive glasses for your beers, otherwise you get a plastic one like you're at some college bar. The beer is good. The Jefe is their best one by far. Their food does need improvement though. I ordered chips and salsa/guac. The guac was solid, but the salsa was clearly from a can and the cheese was the same kind you get at the movie theatre's. All in all, I don't think I'd return unless they made some changes. read more

What a great place !!! So we found this place by accident while looking for things to do on Facebook . We definitely will be putting this place on our list to return . We definitely want to come to the other events that are offered The food is amazing, atmosphere is fun and just a great place to spend an evening with friends and meeting new people So we came in Dec for dueling piano night and had so much fun we bought 20 tickets that night for there next the show then we purchased another 10 .That being said we purchased 30 tickets all together. We were a little disappointed that we called and asked if we could reserve table so we could all be together we were told yes only to be called back later to be told no ,then we were also told by the same person that the show started at 6 when I asked why the web said 7 he told me that the owner told him it was at 6 !!! I asked if he could pls contact the owner to confirm because we had people traveling from far . And yes we know the doors open at 6 but he confirmed he was wrong and it started at 7 I just feel that the staff answering the phones need to be better informed before they are going to give out the wrong information We will definitely be coming back !!!! Nice addition to Fillmore. I really enjoyed the Margherita pizza & garlic knots. Didn't try any of the beer here but looked reasonably priced. My one complaint is the women's restroom is incredibly tight - my knees were touching the stall door and I'm 5'4" averaged sized. It was very uncomfortable - I don't know how a taller/larger body would fit. read more

Nice place in Fillmore for the locals, good beer selection and family atmosphere. For food they have a wide variety of pizza selections, I did not eat this time. On the sensory level this is definitely a 9 it gets loud. Only negative to me was place closes at 9 and at 8:30 they where already placing the empty chairs on top of the tables next to us, feels like they where pushing us out. Having been to many breweries over the years, the decision to head to a brewery for dinner at 6pm in search of a great dinner *after a really long day*, when we really had not eaten, might have been a little questionable. After reading the reviews, we decided to give it a go.... We are SO glad we did. My husband and I each started with a beer and could not recommend either any higher. I am not a huge beer drinker but tried (*and loved*) the Java Bump. My husband started with the Alpha and moved to a tasting flight - including stouts and sours. My husband felt that every beer, in its respective realm, was excellent. Sidebar... I love a brewery with good wine! I then moved to their Cabernet, Ancient Peaks. I was unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised! Recall that we hadn't eaten all day... We might have over-ordered We started with the lemon pepper wings and honestly felt that they were THE BEST WINGS we have ever eaten. ...But, actually. We then moved on to the Burrata Salad - it is so rare for a pizza place to have great salad - but, THEY DO. We then ordered their new Burrata Pesto Pizza, which was **AMAZING** (and might forever haunt my culinary dreams). We also got to sample the Carnivore and Pepperoni pizzas, as well as the BLT - all were seriously - SO GOOD! - Not kidding. As total "outsiders", not from the area.... Libations and gastro-happiness aside, the culture and "vibe" at REBC is also SO GOOD. We were there on a Thursday night. It was REBC's "members night" but also, there were clearly so many other people there enjoying their night. People were dancing to the music, playing games, talking, laughing, there was a retirement party, it was just really nice to soak it all up. The place was packed but even still, the service was great. My husband and I were genuinely taken by what we felt was such a uniquely awesome sense of community and culture. ...From employees like Arlene & Erin who absolutely seemed to be happy to do whatever needed to be done - to patrons of all ages... -From our observation, the crowd seemingly spanned 3 months to 80 years - with so many in the middle - the environment was really neat to witness.
