This place was busy -- you can tell it's a true local spot The waitress was super friendly and chatting with everyone, definitely the kind of place where regulars are made. We tried some fried items during happy hour and you can tell they bread everything in-house -- crispy and fresh Cocktails were solid too -- not watered down like a lot of places these days The space is pretty big, and the outdoor patio is great. Even better -- it's dog-friendly

Honey siracha chicken wings were soo delicious I forgot to take a pic first before devouring them.

Food was amazing! Service was great and the atmosphere was very lively with lots of screens and sports fans. Definitely a great place to have good food and have a good time.

Stopped by on a Saturday (walk in) and hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating - we moved 3 times lol I really wanted to eat outdoors so that was our final move; thanks to the staff for their patience. We ordered a round of drinks - Aperol spritz, skinny margarita & the whiskey blueberry drink (one of the 3 out of the whiskey category Ty) overall our drinks were 10/10! We then ordered the artichoke dip this was good- not thick like most where there is a cheese pull. I ordered the meats lover pizza but added jalapeños- recommend it! My sister ordered a wedge salad which was a big portion like half of a whole lettuce. My friend ordered the fish n chips which was also tasty; not a lot of batter. Overall our GM food 10/10. Our waiter was attentive and checked in on us a few times. This is a great spot to watch sports while enjoying good food and drinks!

We had dinner here on a trip and in town for the night. It is loud inside, lots of TVs, but we were able to enjoy the Olympic action while we had dinner. The food was fine and we'd come back if we are nearby. Our server was great! Really friendly!

Join the Pub Locally-owned spot that evidently replaced a similar restaurant called "Big Wangs" (not joking) back in 2017. The Local serves up typical sports bar pub fare (e.g., burgers, sandwiches, beer, etc.) in a family-friendly and welcoming environment. The Good: * Large shared parking lot * Dog-friendly, covered, and heated outdoor seating * Local brews and a full bar * They've donated over $146k to local charities through patrons purchasing select food and drink items. * Great service by "Nancy F" * The lunch special menu is a really good value. * Burgers were really great and cooked perfectly medium. You can also tell they're not your typical store-bought patties. The Meh: * Their tots had a strange texture/taste that was just okay. I think I actually left a few on my plate, which is unprecedented, to be honest. The Ugly: *I ordered my Shroom burger with Pastrami ($4 upgrade), but it came out without it. I wasn't going to send it back and figured I'd wait to check the receipt to make sure they didn't charge me for it. When the receipt came, it didn't show anything about Pastrami, so I figured no blood, no foul. It wasn't until later that I compared the price on the menu ($19) versus the price on my receipt ($23) that I realized they did, in fact, charge me. It's not that I care about the $4 so much as why the receipt wasn't clear about the upcharge. Conclusion: Good food, cold suds, but keep an eye on the receipt.

The vibes were upbeat and chill and they had live music on the patio and the food was all homemade. And the portion sizes are unbeatable. Will be back next time we are in town. Not to mention they give back to the community and charity. Love that! Also our server was quick and attentive she got the memo we had a long journey home and we needed to be in and out of there! She was on it

Awesome place to eat. It doesn't look great from the outside, but inside it is interesting. It has television sets maybe about 15 of them attached to the ceiling corners and they play football, basketball or soccer etc. sports on the screen. There is a bar in the front that caters to alcoholics, or people who just want to drink casually. In the back side, there are places to sit like a restaurant. It was full when I got there. My uncle came by to meet up with his cousin and we all stayed and ate together. I ordered the three tacos recommended by the restaurant called the shrimp tacos. It had an interesting seasoning on it, but sure but it was $20. What made them great was the taco shell. It was hand made and authentic. It was made to order, it came with chips. Overall I enjoyed it, it filled me up. My friends ordered a pasta dish called a penne Alfredo with chicken, a roast beef melt with tater tots and a salmon and cod sandwich. All great! But all over $20. The service was awesome. I had a beautiful young blonde girl taking our orders and she was really nice. I don't know her name but she was one of the waitresses there. The girl who escorted us to our seats was also nice and very pretty. I don't know her name either unfortunately. SMV must have been decent. The food, ambiance, wait time all within respectable limits. I enjoyed the food, value of food and quick receiving of food. The personality of waitress and looks were great. The food presentation and taste was authentic. I'll be back again. I enjoyed every minute I was there. The con was the bathroom did not have any towels to wipe hands after washing them. Outside of this, I'd say seats could have been more comfortable. Overall, great place to hang out with friends on the weekend or dine in casually with some family.

Food and service are consistently good. Been to this restaurant several times and have yet to be disappointed. We went for lunch during the weekday around 12 and were seated right away. They have patio seating so we sat outside. From the hostess to our server, everyone was friendly. We ordered the lunch combo. My friends got the humus wrap with the soup of the day (lentil soup) and I got the 1/2 coup sandwich (crispy chicken) and the soup as well. We also ordered fries to share. Everything was very tasty and well seasoned. Loved the crispiness of the fries. Usually lentil soup is a hit or miss but this definitely was a hit. Expect the restaurant to get a little loud and crowded during the weekends but otherwise it's usually a pleasant experience.

This is the second time I've been to this restaurant. I love the location as it's across the street from our apartment. Awesome to be able to walk over to a restaurant/pub and get served relatively quickly. we love the sandwiches that we've ordered and tonight I had a Red Bull with vodka it was awesome. Great place to come and eat. Great places to eat! Kind of funny, the name of the location is called the Local Pub and Grill. Apropos for the name of the restaurant! Check it out if you are near Valencia or Magic Mountain. They have happy hour Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 5 PM, late night happy hour on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Night 8 pm to close.

Stopped in here with the oldest child after a day at Magic Mountain, just down the road. We tried the chicken nachos and had them add guacamole. They were absolutely delicious and there is enough to easily feed 3-4 people. They put regular cheese but also add their beer cheese...SO GOOD. Then we tried the Churro dessert...oh my goodness...the churros were crispy, but also light and fluffy all at the same time! And they definitely do not skimp out on the cinnamon and sugar. They paired so well with their ice cream. We are so glad we stopped in on a Sunday afternoon before heading back home. Our waitress was very attentive, kept our waters filled, and the restaurant had a nice social buzz going...not too loud with plenty of different entertainment options on their many TVs. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

As vegans, we're always excited to explore the local food scene, and The Local Pub & Grill did not disappoint. One of our favorite things is that they offer the option to swap any burger with a plant-based patty, which makes it easy to enjoy a great meal without feeling limited. The standout for us was the Gochujang Tofu--this was hands down the BEST! Packed with flavor and perfectly cooked, it's something we'd come back for every time. They also always have pre-curated mixed cocktails that are so good and pair perfectly with the food. It's not always easy finding vegan-friendly options that feel this intentional, so this spot is definitely a win in our book. The server was able to answer questions and work with us for all our substituitions. They place was super clean and has indoor and out door seating.

Ok let me start by saying my workday started off pretty lousy so I was in a not fabulous mood. Needless to say, I had to get out of the office. I'm not super familiar with the area so decided to check out Yelp for some ideas, despite almost never dining alone. Let's start with the obvious, any place that's busy during the middle of the week at lunch is saying something; and for being in a shopping center, the restaurant is adorable and offers a nice respite on the patio! I was greeted right away and was offered to take a seat anywhere I liked. I took a seat at one of the high top tables outside and within minutes, my server, Avery, was there with a smile and the menu. Despite watching Avery as well as the other staff bustling about, every employee that went by checked in with me to make sure everything was ok and see if I needed anything. Fairly quickly after ordering, my food was served and again despite being busy, Avery remembered my request for ranch for my fries- what can I say, it's the little things... I ordered the lunch special with club sandwich and aforementioned fries, which were both amazing! I can't believe I finished it all!! I'll leave off by saying Avery works every Wednesday and Thursday, although probably shouldn't say that, but as I was leaving, I was addressed by name welcoming me to come back!

    Absolutely delicious.

First visit - 1/22/26 3PM - 4PM Food: I had to eat light on my first visit so I ordered the fish and chips. It was just okay, nothing special. Their pretzel was terrific. The brownie, however, was incredible -- easily the best brownie I've ever had. Service: The server was very attentive and friendly. I wish I remembered her name (Latina). She did a great job. Second visit - 2/27/26 3PM - 4PM Food: The pastrami sandwich was really good, though I wish it had a little more meat. The fried zucchini was excellent and they have some of the best ranch I've had!. The kitchen is clearly doing solid work. Service: The service the second time was disappointing. The hostess who seated us had a terrible attitude (Angry looking). She looked completely miserable and like she didn't want to be there. My waitress (Caucasian) left dirty plates sitting on the table and never once offered refills. She came off snobbish and acted like she didn't care about the people she was serving. On the way out, there was what appeared to be a new server (Caucasian) standing near the exit saying goodbye to customers as they left. When my kids and I walked out, she just stared at us and said nothing. Meanwhile, she was acknowledging other customers. It honestly made me wonder if it was because we weren't white. I can't stand servers who act like they're better than the people they're waiting on. That kind of attitude ruins the whole experience. It's a shame because the food is good, but service like that drives customers away. If that's the standard there, I probably won't be going back.

The Local Pub & Grill Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - The Local Pub & Grill

Are cigars allowed in the patio?

    No sorry they are not.

    Is there mocktails?

Yes we have mocktails. Absolutely. Cheers!

Does this restaurant have happy hour?

Yes we do. Monday - Friday from 3-5pm. Cheers!

    Do they take reservations?

    Yes!

Do you guys show Thursday night football ? Considering its only streaming on amazon prime and twitch now.

    We do

Coming down over New Years. Will I be able to watch the Philadelphia Eagles there? Volume not expected, of course.…

Hi there. If the game is on regular tv we will definitely have it on. If the ticket is required then we will not. Cheers!

Do they play World Cup games with sound on?

That hinges on the game and crowd. If we get a good turnout for a game we'll put the sound on because we want to cater to our guests. If we have a handful of guests turnout for a game and we're busy with guests that don't care about the game we'll…

Are gift cards available to purchase online? I don't live in SoCal but I'd like to gift my sister a Meal at her favorite restaurant!?

Hi Thomas. We do not have gift cards available online; however, would love to assist you in some way with your request. You can easily phone the restaurant and have one of our managers add their names to our pay it forward board and when your family…

Do you have happy hour on Sunday, and if so, what time?

    Only Monday through Friday, sorry.

Do you need a vaccination or a Covid test to enter?

Santa Clarita is part of LA County, NOT LA City that requires vax cards...so only masks are required to walk in and then you take it off. Crazy!

    Do you serve bottomless mimosas?

No, they don't. But try the Valencia mimosa...it's terrific.

Are there TVs outside with football games playing?

Yes and lots of people cheering.

Do they have live bands every Friday and Saturday night? If not do they have a set schedule for bands on certain nights?

Hi there. Currently given the sport schedule we have live music on Friday nights with Nick Horn. He is really great. Cheers!

Do you have regular Dodger games televised on Sportsnet LA?

Yes we now get all the Dodger games

Is there still bingo on Wednesday's? If so what time does it start?

    We do not, sorry.

Do they offer private dinning for events or parties?

I was there once when they were having a private event in the main dining area but they don't have a specifically private room. Hope that helps!

Do you offer Saturday brunch with mimosas?

Yes. We have a weekend breakfast menu served Saturday and Sundays from 9-1 currently. We have $5 mimosas and great bottle pricing as well! Cheers!

This place shows up on yelp as being dog friendly. Yet when we showed up one day with our pups we were told they were not allowed on the patio. So which is it?...dog friendly or not?

They're dog friendly. I was there with my pup on Sunday 1/6/18 and we sat in the patio facing the parking lot.

Are they having a happy hour brunch for New Years day?

Hi Kayla - we will not be offering a happy hour brunch on New Years Day. Our doors will open at 11:00 a.m. with our standard weekday food offering, sorry.…

Do they have a good selection of craft beers? The "On Tap" menu is giving me 0 results (or maybe they're updating the website.) Thanks!

A wide variety of craft beers. And rotating handles so they are always replacing them with different craft beers from multiple companies. From blondes to strong blondes to different craft IPAs.. to stouts! Never get bored here!

Parking was easy since there were plenty of empty spots to park.

I am writing this after two uncomfortable and inconsistent experiences at this location…read more On our first visit, my friend and I walked in together and she immediately stepped back outside to smoke. She was stopped by staff on her way out of the store and asked whether she was shopping with someone. They stated that if she was shopping with me, they would need to see her ID or I would not be allowed to purchase alcohol. She went to her car, retrieved her physical ID, and brought it back inside to show the manager. The purchase was then completed. Notably, although they required her ID during that visit, I was not asked for mine at checkout. On our most recent visit, while I was at the register with my physical ID ready, the cashier immediately asked, "Where is your friend?" even though she was still browsing in the aisle and not in line with me. The tone felt accusatory from the start. When my friend came forward she did not have her physical ID on her, only a digital copy and the cashier refused the sale. We asked to speak to the manager on duty, and the manager Mark, stated that he had made a "one time exception" for her during our prior visit when she supposedly did not have ID. This is inaccurate. She did have her physical ID during that visit and retrieved it from her car at staff's request. The sale was refused, including non alcohol items I asked if I could still purchase. I understand strict ID policies and respect alcohol compliance laws. However, the interaction escalated unnecessarily. We were spoken to in a hostile and condescending manner and the cashier yelled "go to Ralphs" as we were exiting. At one point, we were being told we needed to leave before my ID had even been returned to me. Adding to the inconsistency, during this same visit there were other groups of women who appeared under 30 shopping together. From what I observed, not all members of those groups were asked to present ID at checkout or called over from elsewhere in the store. The signage above the register states that ID is required if you appear under 30. Neither my friend nor I are under 30. After two visits with similar treatment, the issue feels less about policy and more about inconsistent enforcement and unprofessional delivery. Compliance is understandable. Accuracy, consistency, and respectful communication should be equally prioritized. Customers should not leave feeling accused or scrutinized when attempting to make a lawful purchase. I hope management reviews how these interactions are handled, as the customer experience in both instances fell well below expectations.

BEST STORE EVER !!! *** JOHN is absolutely the most kind and friendly guy ! store is beautiful and…read morewell kept they always have my favorite things!! definitely my first choice and go to store !!!

I'm sorry, as of August 2023 Michael's is under "NEW" management and totally sucks! We've been…read morecoming here for years and ANDY would always accommodate us we would call ask if a particular beer was in stock. He would put it aside for us if it was low stock or last one. If he didn't have the 12 pk he'd say get two 6pk and I'll charge you same price as the 12. When he'd have new beer products, if they didnt have tall cans he'd say take one from the 6pk so you can try and if you like it then you can come back and get the 6pk or 12pk if you like it. Selection has always been pretty good and prices WERE decent for the convenience. Mostly the service, always friendly,, personal and polite. We have a liquor store right across the street, we don't have to come here, but service matters. And we'd rather support small businesses. NOT liking the new ownership they're, not very forthcoming, they follow you around the store as if your going to steal or something. If that doesn't have you walking out yet... the price mark up is wild. They really want to take advantage, you can get cheaper at Ralphs or Vons OR the craft beer liquor store at the next light. Not a good first impression of new ownership (supposively family). I thought it may have only been our family but all of our surrounding neighbors & community say the same. When we ask about Andy, they say NO MORE ANDY EVER!! Quite rude might I add. We definitely won't be returning sad to say. The place used to always have heavy traffic on a daily. Now that Andy is no longer there, Michael's is a ghost town! **Suggestion: Keep your local neighborhood clientele happy as Andy did. In return you will have longevity and a prosperous business...
