My friends and I stopped by here after leaving Made West tap room only a few blocks away. This place was great! The beertender girl with the Ventura sweater was so cute... but anyway. This had been on my husband's list of breweries he wanted to go to. We walked in and ordered our drinks from the cashier. The service was good. The man that took our order was nice and gave us some suggestions. My husband ordered a flight of beers. I ordered a cider, but I really wish they offered a flight for their ciders as well because they have a large selection of ciders that I wanted to try. They have ample seating inside, but we opted to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful day. We also liked the small bench they had so the kids could sit comfortably. I noticed that they have a room reserved for special occasions. That's a great idea for a party or any type of celebration. My husband and I both enjoyed our drinks and time at this brewery, and we would definitely come back to try something else from their menu. read more

We always make a stop at Ventura Coast when we visit Ventura because they have our favorite beers. We also enjoy the outdoor seating because we can bring the doggos. I usually opt for any beer of theirs that I cannot pick up as a four pack at the grocery store. The service has always been standoffish. Least friendly servers of any brewery as if it's part of the job requirement. We still come back because of the beers but know not to expect much on the service end. read more

I'm a YUGE fan of craft beer, so it's always fun catching a brewery while travelling. Ventura Coast was dope. The beers I had were all great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the "Bad Graffiti IPA". Service was quick. The staff I interacted with was helpful. The ambiance was beachy and modern. I really enjoyed the thought that went into the design. Inside is large, but the outside seating was equally massive (a good spot for kids and dogs). Only gripe, I had to go with my 4th choice in t-shirts because they were out of my size (XL). But the high quality of the shirt and printing helps with the frustration. No idea when we'll be back in this part of the country but VCB would be on my lists of must-stop places. read more

Oh wow this place was very happening. And I have to give it to the bartender since he was hustling. He was in his element and he gave you the impression he liked doing what he was doing. Even though he was busy he still was able to give us different aspects on the pores. Always enjoy the fact that they offer flights and this place did. There's a good amount of seating indoor and out and of course they had a food truck which was nice. It sure smelled good but however we had eaten prior. This is in the area near the pier which I've noticed that they've done a lot of free facing on what used to be here. I guess it had been awhile since we've been here I do like the improvement though. My ex-wife never let me enjoy an evening at a nice brewery. She'd call me un 'Poco Papanatas' when I suggested it. I only recently learned from the cashier at a taco truck stationed outside of Ventura Coast Brewing that Poco Papanatas means "goofball". It was always a little strange too, because my ex doesn't speak Spanish, and she didn't start calling me that until after that friendly El Salvadoran guy installed our water heater. Ventura Coast Brewing is one of those places that she definitely would not have approved of. It's clean, spacious and there's a huge variety of beers that you can enjoy by the glass or in little tasters that allow for a broader flavor experience - from hazy IPAs, pilsners and stouts to pale ale and seltzers. Love it. They also have 'non-alcoholic hop water', which I imagine is either intended for children and teetotalers or a terrible inside joke that the fellas in the fermentation room thought hilarious. I realized as I was working on my third pale ale and second taco at Ventura Coast Brewing that I've missed out for years on wonderful breweries like this. I was going to call my ex-wife and explain how very wrong she was to think she's too fancy for brew culture, but she's still on vacation in El Salvador. I then thought of the other great many joys in life that I missed out on during our time together. When my ex and I first met she made me throw away my entire TV Guide collection. She hated literature and never trusted me. She once accused me of flirting with the instructor at our Salsa class - insisting that I was far too close to the instructor and my movements were too sensual and provocative. We got to keep the two jars of salsa that we made in class that day, but she unilaterally decided we didn't need to advance to guacamole. Now that I have the freedom to pursue the small joys in life, I will be returning to sit quietly with a beer or two amidst the social rumble of Ventura Coast Brewing to enjoy the years of hard work and craftsmanship curated and produced by the fine folks at Ventura Coast Brewing. No idea why it took me so long to visit VCBC, but I have been missing out! VCBC is an awesome brewery! The inside of the brewery is clean and feels inviting. There are a handful of spots to hang out and enjoy beer inside, but there's a ton of outdoor seating available too. There is an outdoor bar to order from too. They have rotating food trucks outside to order food from. There's a room inside that is available to reserve. The room has a large table and TV. We hung out in there and played Jenga, which was at VCBC. VCBC has a variety of different beers. I enjoyed the Arctic Haze beer. I've heard good things about this brewery. The celebrity clientele and ambience does not disappoint. Was however disappointed with the lack of service I received when simply ordering a second round of drinks. Not being a Local is the vibe I was getting. I hope all visitors don't experience this . With the frustration of parking wars we were enticed to park for free here!! (Posted a picture) That being said the Five stars for Birria Elguero food truck parked out side by the patio dining area. Sal (chef & owner) such people skills! Shared with me his experience in the art of Mexican food and his love for feeding the local community. Sal recommended the Mulita. A good brewery spot in downtown Ventura. I'd driven by this spot many a times and had been meaning to go in. My friends encouraged us to stop in over the weekend while we were on our city bar crawl and I was happy to finally get to try this place. I'd definitely give them 5 stars for the aesthetic and layout of the place. I loved the style of this brewery as it feels spacious and I like that open concept garage look with the large doors, wood, and glass. Very industrial type. It made for a cool look while you are inside enjoying a drink. It's also pretty convenient that they regularly have food vendors outside which is a plus. The staff were efficient and knowledgeable on their menu. The vibes were laid back and service was fine. Wouldn't necessarily be memorable but I'm okay with that if they are just trying to keep the line moving and dishing out beers. I liked the flavor of a lot of the beers I tried which is always a plus. I did the taster flight which was pretty nice. Some of my favorites, while very different from each other were their passion fruit goose and their donut stout. Very nice drinks. I only wish I could have added a seltzer to the flight. Some breweries are cool with just letting you put a seltzer in place of the beer and others aren't. Here I couldn't have that option. Wasn't a huge deal at all but just worth noting so you'll know in advance. Prices were average. It's definitely a nice spot in downtown to stop for a beer or a seltzer. They have a private room you can rent for events which looked pretty nice too. Worth keeping in the back of my mind. Glad I was able to give this spot a try. read more

Beautiful brewery that is very family friendly and dog friendly! I've been drinking beer here since they first opened (6 years ago?) and love the beverage selections and staff. VCBC is huuuuge with tons of indoor seating, patio seating, a cute little tropical bar in the back, and the lines move fast. There are rotating food trucks, live music, and fun events (art shows, markets, trivia nights, etc.). I enjoy their sour beers, seltzers, love the neighborhood pale ale, and am recently hooked on the smoothie IPA (peach emoji?!). Free parking and metered parking is available downtown. VCBC is awesome! They have a ton of options for all beer drinkers, with lots of house made stuff and some collars and guest beers. Staff members were friendly and offered samples and recommendations for more specific preferences. The indoor space is great, plenty of seating and a cool barrel room that you can reserve for a party. I was surprised by the outdoor space! Its massive and there is a bar out back as well. Seems like there is usually a food truck option so you can get some eats but there are tons of other food options walking distance. The beer is good, and the ambiance is good because of the customers who come. The problem here is the rude staff lately. If they hate their jobs and are going to be with an attitude they should consider getting new jobs. Especially the tall women that work closing on 1/30/2025 and the man working closing 2/07/2025. They had a good variety of beers, most are ipa/ hoppy styles, but they do have an excellent plum sour and dry hop Pilsner. My favorite thing about Ventura Coast Brewing is their prices, any place that has taster flights for $2 and under is A-ok in my book. They don't serve food here, but they do have food trucks out near the outdoor seating area and I believe you're allowed to bring your own food in also. read more

Love that I can order a flight of 5 beers here and love every single one! I like VCBC because they just get the vibe I'm looking for. Open, sunny, airy brewery on the inside and a large patio with rotating food truck, live music, and plenty of seating. It seems like Monday nights are bingo nights which is fun. It was busy and everyone was having a good time. There is an indoor area (with doors open to outside) and an outside area (still under the same roof but open around sides). Social distancing very possible. Lots of airflow. The only downside for me personally is that most of their beers are IPAs which I do not like, but this is a great place for the many IPA-lovers out there!
