Party of Five and not the TV show. Wanted to try this place again and it was mixed results. The soups and salads were great....hot when they should be and cold and crispy when they should be. My entree was so shocking I forgot to take a picture....I got Dragon and Phoenix (shrimp and scallops)... the four shrimp were not large and all dried out while the U10 (called out on menu) scallops were the size of a quarter at most. It was cold....mine was the low light. The pupu platter was enjoyed by who ordered it and the Crispy Prawn with Honey Glazed walnuts was a hit with the birthday girl. Merry me prawns were coconutty and hot too. THe seaseme chicken was hot and actually very good value. Protip do not order water....it tasted like a hose...very bad. Lemon could not help it. Food: portion size was perfect. We ordered three kids meals and two early bird specials. The taste of the kids meals was super great and the veggies were cooked to perfection. This isn't usually the case since kids meals typically go uncared for. The two adult meals we had were both great and veggies again were really good. Service: the waiter was super great. He took care of us so well and was really great with the kids. They have a robot food cart that brings the food to the table. The kids absolutely loved it. The waiter even brought the "kitty cart" out three times so our kids could each press the buttons and make it talk. Ambiance: it was quiet and cozy. We loved the aquariums too. We even met the owners who sat at the front door. They were super kind and really seemed to care about our experience as a family. We will be back for sure. read more

Terrible Food. Bad service Seafood fried rice stone pot; now what would u expect, some fried rice right. No. It's a soupy porridge consistency rice and broth dish with few seafood and asparagus. Shocking! Tasted so bad. Bland is an understatement. We refused this dish. Kung pao chicken: I've had this dish so many times around the globe and trust me this is the worst preparation ever. It's sweet! Like in which universe is Kung pao with a marked next to it is sweet? Lot of cubed chicken, bbq and sugary sweetness, an entire bag of peanuts (overdosed) and few red chillis. It was bad! I would normally say this is the best American-Chinese food in town. In fact, this place is further than 7 other restaurants, but we consistently order from them bc they're usually great! This time, not so much. Everything tasted under seasoned. I've never said "this needs more salt" about Chinese food before, but I said it last night! Eggroll was bland. Triple Delight was bland. The stir fried rice was bland. The Mongolian beef was about half the size it normally is. The way they packed it, all the sauce poured out of the Mongolian beef onto the bottom of the bag and rice containers. So the MB was dry. We added soy sauce to moisten it back up, is which probably why it wasn't as bland as the others. It was like they had a new or different cook than usual. It was just all off. Boring and bland. And again - this is our favorite spot. My other complaint: we live beachside. The Melbourne square mall location is the closest and only one that delivers to us. But they don't do their own delivery. When you're on their website, it directs you to the DoorDash app for their delivery. Well DoorDash doesn't have their menu correct. It's missing items and doesn't have everything there. The only Mongolian beef available on DD is a combo version that includes soup and a side. We don't want that. But the only way to get Mongolian beef is to get this combo. It's a waste of money and food bc we have to get items we don't want. I also have no clue if the prices are up-charged on DD compared to in store like most places do these days. (Not to mention the delivery fee and service fee in addition to the delivery tip.) So if your closest store is the Melbourne location, you are getting ripped off by ordering their delivery through DoorDash. I wish they did their own like the Suntree location. OR at the very least, spend the time to go thru and make sure your DoorDash menu is actually correct. It would be less annoying to pay exorbitantly if I was actually getting the full and correct menu. I think it's time to find a new place. read more

A beautiful restaurant. This place knows how to decorate! The vibe was so chill, with dim neon lighting with plenty of spots to grab a great photo for those who love a "gram" worthy picture. The service was quick and knowledgeable. If you have never had hot pot they can easily explain the concept. I've had it many times but never here. So nice to have a hot pot spot in Brevard!! The meat and veggie station had a great variety! I went on a Friday and crab legs were on the buffet... not something I've found at any other hot pot. The broth was amazing and you can always add more spices and herbs and sauces from the "buffet" to enhance the already flavorful bowl of soup. If you want a fun interactive experience while eating, this place has it all and more! Great for a date night or friends night out. My cousin said her noodles didn't have the best flavor, but I didn't try it so I can't speak to that. We also ordered the dumplings for the table and they were great. Take out... Always a tricky situation. Ordering what you want and insuring you get it. I understand that we're all human but I expect what I ordered. We ordered 2 tuna stacks and more for pick up and upon arrival at the front host station the woman approached me with two plastic trays each containing what appeared to be a few pieces of avocado, faux crab, wrapped in a sliver of tuna. Not the stacks that we ordered. I was flabbergasted. She explained that this was their version of a stack. We had eaten there many times and knew better. After I explained that we wanted what we had ordered she quickly bagged the roll things and brought the bag to me. (I had already paid the full amount plus a generous tip so I said that wasn't acceptable and called my spouse from the car and had her relieve me as I was quite agitated that someone would blatantly try and pull a stunt like that. The woman ultimately reduced the amount by a third and still provided us with what amounted to a less than mediocre meal. The extra wasabi and ginger requested was nonexistent, and although we've had many pleasant meals there it will probably be some time before we return. read more

We usually rate this place 5 star. Big mistake coming here the day after Christmas. We had a buy one get one free hotpot good thru 12/31 only to find out they were out of all hot pots. We decided to order our usual sushi only to find out they were out of all sushi because "it's Monday". For entrees we got the Mongolian Beef and the honey walnut shrimp which came with egg drop soup. The server returns to say they are out of egg drop soup so I substituted it with the hot and sour soup which was completely inedible. It was the blandest hotly spiced soup ever. I couldn't eat it. The egg roll substitute was adequate but nothing special. What started as a disappointing experience was turned round by the tasty entrees. The Mongolian beef was very tender even with the hot spices. The honey walnut shrimp was a bit on the sweet side but nicely done. The robot server is still a hoot! read more

The service is some of the worst service I have ever received. When you walk in there is nobody to greet you until you start making some type of noise. They have canceled my order twice now when online ordering I call to confirm and they still don't make it. I knew how much my total was online, I see this bill in person and they charged an extra $5 that I pointed out for them to remove. Chicken Lo Mein was ok. My hot-n-spicy soup was actually very, very good. My wife said the salad that came with her meal was good too. The food was barely warm when it came out. Waitress spoke so little English it was difficult to communicate with her. Bill was also quite expensive. It is very hard to find good Asian (or most any ethnic!) food in MLB area. This place is, as many have said, a hidden gem. Location is AWFUL, you would never find it if you did not know its there, behind the mall. The food is very good, decor nice, and service is acceptable. This is a pleasant place to SIT DOWN and eat. I see most of the negative complaints are from people doing take out, or that idiotic Grub Hub. Go eat, sit down, act civilized, and have your food. You will not be disappointed. So I finally gave myself the opportunity to try this restaurant that I've heard rave review about via word of mouth. I decided to have a late lunch/early dinner (3pm) on a Saturday. Usually this time of dining gets you more attention than normal but also can backfire because the chef isn't exactly in busy work-mode due to the low number of patrons. However, if a restaurant can do great during off-peak hours such as this then they gain extra points in my book. Unfortunately this is not exactly what happened today. Now this isn't exactly a knock on Red Ginger, but more of something I expected to happen. My server was not very attentive or helpful when I ask questions about the menu. But as far as the food goes, I was satisfied with the quality of the food. The portions left something to be desired, but I did order from the lunch menu. The salad wasn't very fresh but it wasn't cold either and the house dressing was good. The Mongolian beef was a nice amount of spicy and very tender surprisingly but it was very greasy. The pork fried rice portion was very small but it tasted fresh and it was good. Overall a good experience and I definitely want to try different menu items next time. read more

I've been wanting to try out Red Ginger for the longest time. They made the promise of combining traditional Chinese and Japanese food, especially sushi, with class and style. Such a combination seems far-fetched to me as the best of the best Chinese and Japanese food (or should I just say Asian food in general) come from mom and pop shops. Ergo, did Red Ginger deliver on what they were promoting? Well... yes and no. Let's start with the class and style. Upon entering Red Ginger located in the northwest entrance of Melbourne Square Mall, you'll be in the fusion midst of traditional Japanese and Chinese architecture and upscale restaurants. Imagine pagoda pillars, signs with kanji reading "Welcome" along with sleek marble, an open bar, and a piano playing music in the background. Depending on your income bracket, you'll feel if you belong in such a place or not despite being welcoming to everyone. The food is where Red Ginger either stands out or loses credibility. Starting with the Japanese restaurant staple food sushi, they have it down when it comes to the basics and traditional sushi. It even passes the test on if it is real or fake as real sushi is meant to be eaten quickly, not to stay out for an extended amount of time. Unfortunately their "specialty rolls" lack balance. They say their most popular roll is the Melbourne roll which consists of spicy krabmeat, shrimp tempura and cucumber inside, salmon, avocado on the top with special sauce. Nothing wrong with all the ingredients in the roll but they drown the roll in the "special sauce" that I cannot taste the other parts of the roll. As for their Japanese food, the only dish I had was the lunch special, the salmon teriyaki bento box. This was their chance to really show what they can do on basics and sadly they did not deliver. For starters, the miso soup was weak meaning they got the top of the pot without mixing the soup first. Second, the dumplings were half-fried and half-steamed, a very peculiar combo that did not agree with my palette. Finally, they overcooked the salmon. Trust me, when salmon is white and not pink, it is overcooked. Ultimately, fellow Yelper Shannon saved this review as the combo rice in eel sauce was amazing. And just like many others who've reviewed before me, their egg drop soup is the best I ever tasted. I will give some grace and give this place four out of five stars. However, a lot is now working against them. When I do go back to give them a "fair shake," they will have to really put up their game or face me branding them with mediocrity. read more

We came for hotpot. The selection was not too bad but what threw me off was we got some seafood from the table and I immediately noticed the smell was very fishy. When I sat the plate down at the table it was obvious that the crab has gone bad and the smell was of rotting seafood. I had to give the plate to the server because not only was the food clearly not safe to eat the smell made it impossible to eat other things. The rest of the food was fine including the frozen meats. Honestly the other issue was the server basically impossible to find to refill drinks or give us the check. After waiting for over 30 minutes we finally got up and flagged one of the other servers to ask for our server to bring us the check. I've eaten here several times over the last six years but will never return. I ordered the Grace Roll because it was not marked as spicy and no spicy ingredients were listed. I took one bite of the roll and my mouth was on fire. I told the waiter and he offered another roll but my mouth burned so bad that I had no interest in eating. Wow I'm not sure how this place doesn't have a 4 plus star overall score. Have been here every time we visit. We recently had the 5 course Valentine's Day dinner wine tasting meal. Hands down one of the best dinner experiences my wife and I have ever had. The foods that Grace came up with and served was so fresh, delicious, unique, and flavorful. Not to mention each wine went exquisitely well with the food. Lily (sp?) was an amazing server and so friendly. Wish we had a place like this in Indianapolis. This restaurant had the best sushi I've ever eaten. The fish was extremely fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the God Father roll, and the Chef's Creative Roll, which leaves the roll entirely in the chef's hands. We ordered 2 of the Chef's Creative Roll, and they were both so fantastic, and very different in flavor. To me, I believe that showcases their chef's talent and skill with flavor profiles. Our server Paulyn is so kind and courteous, and she helped us with our ordering experience. The decor is classy and trendy, and the tables are very well spaced out for social distancing. Stopped in for lunch after a trip to the mall and was pleasantly surprised that there was a nice restaurant attached to the mall. The waiter brought us crispy noodles and some duck sauce to start and we ordered our food. I got the orange beef and it was absolutely amazing tasting.
