Three out of 12 of us ordered the New York Steak, each of us 3 ordered it medium and got it straight up raw, all after about an 1 3/4 hour wait (Not that the wait was awful considering there were 12 of us, but we would still assume after such a long time they wouldn't mind fully cooking a steak). The waitress was doing a great job at refreshing drinks, but did give me the wrong drink one time and messed up the checks but not a big deal, just something worth mentioning. The atmosphere was nice however and the Robots running around were cool to see and interact with! Wife and I visited the mall to shop. Eating early lunch and not very hungry. Wanted light alternative. This place met our needs perfectly. Wife had Grace's Chicken with side salad. She enjoyed both but said she would order with less sauce (personal preference). Side salad had a lite vinegarette. I really loved the Szechuan Beef which could have been a bit spicer (another personal choice). As a side, I had egg roll with hot mustard (personal choice of many options). Normally My family and I enjoy dining with Red Ginger. Even though the food is expensive it is NORMALLY high quality. NORMALLY. This past Mother's Day my wife wanted take out from Red Ginger but while we were eating our food we found metal wires in our dishes. Their shrimp had a chemical taste about it, like chlorine. I've called, emailed and Facebook messaged the restaurant with no response, pictures were included. I'll include them here as well. OK I ordered late from Bite Squad for delivery, but no excuses. If you can't provide quality consistently, then don't take late night orders. Although i have ordered a couple times before at different times, the quality of food is still inconsistent, so this is the last time I will be eating there or ordering out. The pine nuts chicken which they describe as "crispy cornbread coated chicken breast medallions", were actually plain, dry, soggy flavorless chicken strips with a generic tasting coating that was anything but crispy or cornbread. It was supposed to come topped with a "creamy citrus flavor sauce and sprinkled with pine nuts", it came plain, on top of some limp white lettuce in a Styrofoam box, no sauce or pine nuts were even sent separately, all for $12.95. The dumplings came with absolutely no dipping sauce as well. The macadamia shrimp was extremely small for 8 plus dollars, and the taste was also off putting. Complete waste of money, and left hungry for the night. Bite Squad corrected the issue for me with a credit, but I will never order from Red Ginger again, even if I'm starving and desperate. read more

Thought this would be great but was mistaken. In the late afternoon, dropped in to get takeout. The were very few customers and a good deal of staff. The trick was trying to make eye contact with one of them to place an order. Once I finally placed my order, it took forever to get one takeout lunch, and it wasn't worth the wait. I never expected taste free food, but that's what I got. I also never expected a smidgen of greens with no dressing to be passed off as an Asian salad. The soup had taste but it was unpleasant. LOVE this place! My daughter and I were at the mall and the food court was very full. We stumbled upon the restaurant and decided to go inside. Best decision we made. I felt very comfortable going in. Employees all had masks, lots of social distancing. The best part was the food. OMG! Absolutely delicious. More upscale Asian restaurant, had a piano player inside. Their regular dishes are average taste at a lil higher prices. But they're currently the only ones with hot pots on table top burners meaning you pick what kind of broth, noodles, meats, or veggies a la cart; so price will add up quickly, but worth it. I absolutely love the spicy peanut dumplings from Red Ginger. The Pad Thai is very good as is most all of the sushi rolls I have tried. Lunch specials available in the dining room are tasty, economical, and prepared quickly. Great for a quick bite during a hurried lunch time. Unfortunately, ordering take out from the restaurant is more of a journey that it needs to be. In the past, I called for pick up; I had to implement a rule that if I was placed on hold for longer than 7 minutes I would hang up (and order from a different restaurant). I believe I had at least five orders never placed due to long on-hold wait times. I tried ordering through a delivery app and had one or two orders dropped (after ordering) due to issues reportedly on the restaurants end. Red Ginger now has an online ordering system, but it is just as bad. I just had my third (and final) order not placed through the app. When I first tried the app (and it worked) I had a 15% coupon to use. It was given to me from a previous order. When I placed the order it took only 10% off the order. Sadly, I can no longer endorse Red Ginger. The frustrations of trying to place an online order led only to frustration and heart ache. Went here for the first time. I had the Pineapple Shrimp and my wife had the house special fried rice. Both had very large pieces of shrimp. The food was delicious. We both really liked the Wonton soup. This is no fast-food restaurant. It was really nice inside. The Service was very friendly and fast. I would absolutely recommend it. I am a regular here and we mostly get traditional Chinese dishes. Today I decided to get the sashimi lunch and it was great. Love it. I am updating this review to list some of the items from their traditional menu that I love. The chicken with red chilly peppers is great if you love spicy food. The spicy lover's beef and cumin lamb are great as well. The chicken with bamboo shoots is truly flavorful. The spicy greens are tasty. I've been here 3 times and each time it got worse! I wrote a pretty lengthy review on their Facebook page and was yelled at by one of their managers, Jay, for my negative review. Then, their management deleted their rude comments. (I screenshot the entire conversation so I have it if anyone wants to read it.) They finally apologized after I told them they should have done that in the first place. It's not the customers fault for having a bad experience and they should never be chastised for it. The first time we went the silver wear, plates, and glasses were dirty and we had to send it back. The food was ok but definitely not for the price. The service was also extremely slow even though we were one of four tables being served during "dinner rush". The second time we went it was the same deal but during lunch. The third and last time we were there the waitress made us wait more than 15 minutes just to take out drink order. (We came during "dinner rush" again but were one of three tables.) The waitress messed up our order, and after saying she corrected it STILL got it wrong. Our appetizer, entrees and salad came out all at the same time. Our food was mostly cold and drowning in sauce. Our sushi and rolls were tiny, and cut so poorly they were almost falling apart. Our waitress even called our chop sticks "sushi sticks"! We gave this place 3 chances because we like to see places succeed. Each time it got worse. The icing on the cake was being humiliated on Facebook for having a bad experience at their restaurant. Never again! I do NOT recommend going there. UPDATE Red Ginger: PLEASE take a look at the screenshot I posted on your profile. The screenshot I posted was sent to me by one of your past employees. (I will not release their information.) The behavior Jeff Napier exhibits is very worrisome. I would love to see your business blossom but I feel it's impossible if your management is holding you back and threatening past employees and insulting customers for things that are out of their control. The place is beautiful and the service beyond exceptional, really attentive pleasant server, even the manager stopped by to say hello. The lunch special selection was great and you get two side options with your entree. The egg flower soup I found very flavorful and plentiful, the bowl was huge! Now here's the thing, I'm being generous by giving the rest of the meal four stars, but I think there is true potential here and we will definitely come back and try other dishes. Today I ordered the "grilled" teriyaki chicken over vegetables but the chicken definitely was not grilled but rather flat as a pancake and probably fried, the chicken texture was so odd, rubbery, dense, chewing, slippery tough, and plain weird, it made for a bad eating experience, I left most of it and just ate the all the veggies. Hopefully they read this review and actually grill decent unpounded unadulterated chicken! Otherwise the seafood and veggie lunch special was fantastic and so was everything else. read more

If you live in Melbourne and like Chinese food, you have to try Red Ginger! I'm surprised most people don't even know about this place. The service is good and prices are just right for the quality and portion size. When you walk in the decor and atmosphere is pleasingly mellow, very fitting for a modernized Chinese restaurant. The sweet tea was very clean tasting, and the table next to me seemed to be enjoying their sushi dishes. I ordered the lamb dish, with fried rice and crab rangoon. It was delicious, I nearly licked the plate clean! Try it out for yourself, and ask for David, he is a great server who will be glad to answer any questions you have! read more

I had been here previously back in 2015.... and it was good. That said- husband was wanting authentic Szechuan anything so we decided to check it out again, remembering their extensive authentic Chinese menu. Y'all. That menu is gone and what replaced it was 2 pages of uninspired Americanized whatever. The gyoza appetizer and the free fried crunchy things were the highlight. Husband ended up with bourbon chicken and I got pineapple shrimp based on previous yelp reviews. His chicken was all dark meat and a TON of just chicken chunks. We ended up bringing the bulk of home out of guilt. The sauce on my shrimp was so thick it was almost gummy. The veggies were barely warm... it was just a huge disappointment. Icing on the cake was for-sure the flies that kept us company. I hate complaining so we made the best of it... but just a warning to y'all wanting a decent place to go on a date- skip this location! read more

It's a shame that this place doesn't have a super-noticeable location because the food is amazing! The interior is nicely decorated and clean; it's hard to tell that you're in a restaurant attached to a mall. They have a great variety of Asian dishes and all of them are really good.
